Word spreading through media, American media cooperating, hanging back. Dutch media swarming, getting in way. Diver's expected to go in around 2PM as of last report.
Correction - Media was not informed at time of previous post, expect additional info. Info should be coming from other media sources soon. Reports are patchy. Hard to tell status this minute.

It figures that it would take a "team" from the US to go into places that Aruba wouldn't dare go. I still "smell" a coverup.
Prayers go out to all family and friends of Natalee Holloway.
I hope they find closure soon.

I pray that she knows Christ as her personal Lord & Savior....

Tims team is amazing and if she is there to be found they will find her. He has an angel on his side. Tina is probably up there guiding him now.

DearLord I pray you will wrap your arms around Natalee's family & give them the strength to get thru this horrible experience. I can't imagine the pain they must be feeling.

This reeks of a coverup gone terribly bad due to the persistance of Nat's family. I've got a feeling inside that this is going to be it.

CJ,
Natalee is a Christian!

I can't imagine what the Holloway and Twitty families are going through right now wondering, waiting, praying....

Does anyone know how deep the quarry is?
Posted by: AG | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:28 PM
Trying to figure in my head how long hte dive could possibly take
Posted by: AG | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:28 PM
How absolutely disgusting is all of this with Natalie. Joran and his friends should rot in jail.
Posted by: ev | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:31 PM
What can I say that hasn't already been said? Except that my heart hurts from here. I so hoped she would be found alive, if it is her. I hoped like all of us that she would be. I hoped I would never give up hope, but reading this, I think I just did.
Posted by: invisible | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:31 PM
My heart goes out to her mother. I can not imagine the anxiety she must be feeling right now with the search in the quarry. GOD BLESS!

American media holding back??!! You really believe that?
Posted by: TB | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:39 PM
Why is it going to take two hours for the divers to go in? This close to Joran's home, this does not look good.
Posted by: TJ | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:42 PM
Is this the quarry that Geraldo went to and questioned why it wasn't searched earlier?
Posted by: Shari | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:44 PM
Just stopped in. IMO this is, and has been, a charade on the part of the aruban 'authorities.' A cover-up is about the only thing that explains what has been going on on that sorry island. 7 persons 'detained,' some a couple of times, and 4 released. Uncharged. Natalee Holloway has not been found, nor have the 'authorities' determined what has happened to her. IMO the last three detainees will be released as well. Because it has not been determined by competent investigation that a crime has been committed. My prayers and heart go out to Natalee's family.
Posted by: arch | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:44 PM
they should be going into the water in about 20 minutes

Last week, I remember Greta walking with Natalee's Father around that quarry wondering why they hadn't searched something so obvious, given it's proximity to the VDS home?????? Natalee and her family will be in my prayers!

I was looking at pictures of the prayer wall for Natallee and noticed that a girlfriend referred to her by the nickname "Hoots". Does anyone know how she got that name??
Posted by: marty | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:52 PM
Why is this not breaking news on FOX and CNN? We are hearing from Donald Rumsfeld and the sicko BTK killer, but nothing from Aruba...odd.

Pray Today for some Answers and some Closure....
Thoughts and Prayers getting stronger for Natalee's family and friends. This is a time that they need all the hopes, prayers, love that they can get.
God Be With Them...

They are waiting sleut waiting for confirmation. too many news and retractions in this case
Posted by: tanya | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:56 PM
Just want to say IF Natalee is found there: DO NOT SEND FLOWERS THERE
Wait for family to make announcement of what they would like. maybe setting up a memorial scholarship or something. I doubt they want to give more $$ to the ones they feel helped coverup their daughter's kidnapping and murder.
Posted by: Island Hopper | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 01:56 PM
Can't believe they're not even mentioning this on TV yet.

My heart just breaks for this family and all they've been through. And now this. Having to stand by and watch divers go in and search for your daugther's body. How are they going to bear this? So sad...

The vds family must be shaking in their boots
Posted by: tanya | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 02:00 PM
C'mon Shari - this is USA. Media lives on ratings, here. It ain't even commute-home time yet. They will be saving this info for the 5pm news - you can bank on that.

Ok,...does it seem possible that the reason Joran wasn't home the morning that her parents went to his house was that he might have been out covering his tracks?
Posted by: turtle | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 02:02 PM
When it's said divers sent in as "last resort" does that mean they try other means to retrieve first? I don't know what that means.
Posted by: Midge | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 02:03 PM
If Jesus Christ is your lord and savior, you're in trouble. The Messiah, unconditionally, is supposed to bring everlasting peace upon arrival. Them's the rules in the rulebook that gives us the idea of a messiah in the first place, and they're the rules Jesus himself followed.
Haven't seen any peace during or since his lifetime, have we? The good news is that the Messiah is still coming; he just ain't the horse you bet on. Keep your missionary activities to yourself, hillbilly.

I heard that the parents don't want anything disclosed until they get confirmation.

Does anyone think that Joran (or his dad) would be dumb enough to dump the body behind their own house?
Posted by: tracey | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 02:07 PM
Yes. . . When you are in a rush you don't always think clearly.

Here's an article that asks the same questions we have all been asking. wait, Wait and Wait some more. Cover up? - You Betcha!
The whole dad-gummed system down there has played us all for fools. The discovery of Natalee will bring justice. Hope they find here, before momma VDS gets the boy out and they flee to Holland.

Jesus the Christ IS the Messiah. From which denomination do you absorb your teachings? If you don't believe that Christ hung, bled & died - only to arise on the 3rd day to save your soul - then you are lost, and on your way to Hell. It's that simple.
Now, if you choose to comment more on this - email me. No need to attack me in this particular forum.
Posted by: CJ | Monday, June 27, 2005 at 02:11 PM
maybe the VDS's thought there was no way to trace Natalee back to them? who knows...
Messiah - follow your own words...
Sending my prayers out to natalee's family. Hope some resolution comes out of this.
