Two Unconfirmed Reports

A message board poster on AOL from Aruba is claiming that three additional men are being questioned. And, that this has been going on the last two days or so. Says American news sources are reporting inaccurate information and seems to be solidly defending Van der Sloot in his posts/responses.

Two quotes on AOL message board site:

1) Thank you for being so positive and not blaming this all on the Arubian law enforcement. They are also now talking to three other men.

2) Faces are blocked in the pictures. Can't tell who they are. It was reported first about 3 days ago in awe mainta. No one else has talked about it then saw it again today in awe mainta. Unfortunately all they say is that they are two arubians and one colombian. I can speculate but that is it

That non-English publication should be at the link. I'd think some reader here can likely disprove it. The second unconfirmed report is below.

On Natalee's Yahoo forum there there is a report that a helicopter is searching Santa Lucia area because according to the cell phone records of one of the three suspects there was a call in the Santa Lucia area at 6:30 am the morning Natalee was to have met up with the group to leave for airport.

Santa Lucia is in Santa Cruz....pass the Ayo Rock Formations.... Right where they have the Donkey sanctuary on map on 2nd page of map Body maybe somewhere around area of Ayo Rock Formations.

The only way the one above would be at all credible is if you knew the records mentioned above were difficult to obtain. I can't imagine any scenario wherein the searching of that area, were the record story true, would be taking place this late in the game. Any earlier report that stated the records were obtained and looked at would seriously call into question the above report.

These are two unconfirmed reports. I'm certain a reader here can address one. The other needs to be taken at face value and cannot be confirmed. When something is unconfirmed, its real value is in helping you to draw a conclusion, or confirm something down the road.

For example, someone tells you that someone is searching for something by helicopter on the East end of an Island. You don't know the source, so the information is unconfirmed.

The next report is a radio broadcast telling you at day break a large contingent of police set off from the station and appear to be heading for the East end of the Island. This elevates the level of believability in report one and makes two all the more significant.

Most journalism comes with a relative factor of believability. The MSM does its job when it presents you information with a very high standard in the above regard.

Unencumbered as he is by certain restrictions, a blogger can present you with information of very different levels of trust, so long as he identifies them as such. This allows you to participate in a manner that the MSM, rightfully, cannot afford you. There are many advantages in this, maybe we'll explore them sometime.

The MSM shows you the finished piece. Eventually a blogger in an ideal situation, and this blog is not that at present, not only allows you to view the finished piece, he also shows you his work. The notion that unconfirmed information has no value is a myth. What's at issue here is, who gets to see it.

In case you didn't hear, the helicopters were being used at night as the infra-red requires temperature differences to see, consequently the cooler night air helps. Also, apparently the calculated rate of cooling for a human body and the air around Aruba last night worked out to there being enough difference for the technology to function.

What is unclear is if there were other nights this would have been so and the birds simply weren't ordered up, or deliverable. Or if a series of hot nights meant there was little point in making an attempt. Perhaps someone will ask that question of the authorities, or already has.

Well, we now have GRETA w/FOX on the case. She will pull out whatever she can out of them. wach for her shows at 10:00 for the next few days. She has sort of a guide that took her all over the island tonite earlier on the show, including a up and close look at the lighthouse and surrounding areas. Then she did an interview with Natalee's mom. Her mom is really a good stong women.
BILL O'REILY spent a lot of time of the case on hos show and so did HANNITY & COMBS~. They are applying pressure now. Maybe we will get closer to the "what really happened" of this case. I sure hope so for th esake of Natalies family.
WONDER IF THEY HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT CHECKIGN OUT THE LNDFILLS AND GARBAGE DUMPS AND EMPTY ABANDON HOUSES AND SUCH. I just do not see why 3 per sqaure mile cannot look for her on that island. Now if this dutch boy had access to a boat that could be another senerio. If she died or was killed somehow then He could have very well took the body out in the ocean and dumped it. But...then again wouldn't it have washed up by now.?? Or where are the clothes she has on. Did he pull a SCOTT PETERSON with blocks and such, or did he have a friend to take the body off the island.
Another senerio. Supose he and the boys had someone approach them and tell them that if they would deliver the girl to them they would pay them a lot of money. So they met someone on the island somewhere and were payed off for the girl and she is on another island sold into SLAVERY at a BROTHEL. If they tell they may have been threatend with harm done to their familes.
These are just some thoughts. The way its going most anything is possible.

Hi again, I have kept up reading these posts about the car and now there are 2 other cars. A red jeep eagle with a black top I saw and a mini van of some kind it looked like.These car were taken in from the Dutch boys home. Who owns the Gray car and do the other boys have cars. no one has ever said who these cars belong to, especially the gray one. Also they said the dutch boy has his own apartment attached to his families home. Thats where they were all at today collecting stuff. Wonder did he take her there? This get crazier and crazier as time goes on. They also said that they will probably go to the other two boys home next and do searching there next. BOY isn't that convieniant. To announce it in advance. The helicopter will be searching the island all night while it is cool I heard. BOY,what a botched investigation. I smell cover up. The dutch boys daddy wants to hire another lawyer other than the one the boy has now..The judge said no. The dad of the dutch boy also wants to visit his son. The jusdge said no to that too. Now he is sueing to see his son. NOW...I wonder about the parents of the other two brothers. Have not heard a word about them. Well, tomorrow is another day. Guess we will see what transpires next as the mystery goes on.

The authorities have known since virtually day one that the Dutch boy was with Natalee the night she went missing. Why has it taken them so long to search his house? What the hell is going on over there with that damn Attorney General's no-speak and the Key Stone Kops? This Dutch boy is the key. Apparently Joran was selling a pornographic video he had made of a 14 year old girl, who was a tourist to the island. Perhaps Joran and his friends make a regular living this way, and Natalee was the lastest victim? It would have been a perfect opportunity: it was her last night and she had a very early morning flight--chances were really good that she would either not remember due to a foggy mental state from the drugs or would simply want to return home asap.If so, he would have needed a lighted room to shoot the video. Everyone has been thinking that something happened on the beach, but maybe the events took place in a hotel room or the guest house/apartment at his parents' home?Apparently, in the video w/ the 14 year old girl, several males had sex with her. I find it interesting that people keep calling him a normal, good kid. Shooting a pornographic gangbang video of a minor would pretty much remove any child of mine from the "good kid" list forever!! I watched the O'Reilly Factor the other night with Heraldo Riveria as a guest. How true is the remark that he made about the Police Chief (not sure if that's the correct title)being a good friend of Joran's father and not really wanting to do anything against his friend's son (not the exact words). If true could this have been the reason the 3 young men was not arrested from the beginning and their vehicle's and houses not searched before now.

I cannot stress this enough:

The authorities and FBI and Dutch specialists know more than what they are saying/leaking to the press.

That's why they even keep reports and documents from the lawyers... imagine, if the lawyers knew what the authorities know, entire US would know the details by now. They have been on all shows and it seems to me that a lot of Americans prefer to make their conclussions based on media reports and opinions instead of waiting for a final report, which is how ussually things go on the island. This final reports is also the case that is presented to a judge, not the media.

And to Susan, Yeah, you might have read that drugs go trough Aruba and to the States... but have you seen the date on that report? That was the case 2 decades ago when Aruba was still part of the Netherlands Antilles and had no own resource to combat illegality or drug transportation, but since the 80's when Aruba became a separate land in the kingdom it has made forces with the US, to combat this.

Aruba is surrounded by American Coastguard, there is an American Forward Operation Locations on the island and local authorities ussually work together on big cases with the FBI, CIA, DEA and Interpol. Ever since the drug transportation has ceased and we are now just confronting drug slicking traffickers that transports tiny amount of cocaine to Europe in their bodies, but still being caught every day, thanks to technology and experienced Immigration personell.

My instinct still stands;
A one night stand/fling gone wrong. Boy panicked, called some friends up to pick him up at the beach, went to a secluded area, buried the body and was given a ride back home.

And the real reason to let the guys go on the first place; the were being monitored, calls intercepted and maybe even they put a device in the car the follow the guys (which has happened before in a big case of drug interception).

AND ONCE AGAIN THE CAR THEY IMPOUNDED THE FIRST TIME BELONGS TO THE SURINAMESE BROTHERS!!

JORAN HAS NO CAR, HE IS ONLY 17. HE HAS NO DRIVING LISENCE.

not every country relies on FOX and others to "try" their cases in the public before they get before a judge.
When this case is finally resolved we may well be surprised at how resourceful and canny the local authorities have been.

I am anxiously awaiting the outcome of this case to find out whether you are right about the professionalism of the Aruban PD. I would be shocked -- and delighted -- if your suppositon is correct. As backset investigators, relying as we must on unconfirmed material, the most that anyone can do is hypothesize, guess at what's really going on and that's what this blog is about.

It is true that Dan takes stabs at getting facts but have any really panned out? It all makes fun reading but no one should expect that there's anything to do here but discuss and rehash what's floating about the 'net. Dan has sources, yes, but what exactly have they contributed that's not equalled by the poor reporting that we all can see on TV or read about in the Papers?

And it seem like a tiny island as Aruba is easy to search. But there are caves that goes up to Venezuela over there, nobody goes thru because it is too dangerous, even if you are a profecional. Initially I thought Natalee could've possibly been sold into a trade but now think it happened much differently.
I think all three of the men are guilty, in that Joran is the real perpetrator and the other two are accessories after the fact. They probably did drop the two off. Afterall, why would Joran get out of the car at his house after being with Natalee in the back seat. Doesn't seem logical that he would allow these guys to take with Natalee without him in the car. So after these two dropped off Joran and Natalee, Joran tried to rape her and it became ugly. Joran, as a result, took Natalee's life. He then contacted these two guys via email to tell them that he had something to tell them. THey went to his house and learned that Joran had murdered Natalee and that Joran needed their help in disposing the body.
This would explain why the two men are pointing the finger at Joran without telling the details about the Holiday Inn cover up. It appears that they are saying just enough to implicate Joran but not enough to incriminate themselves. There is no way that these two men would lie about taking her to the Holiday Inn unless THEY to had something to cover up. and it wasn't to cover up solely for Joran. If that were the case, they would've already come clean about Joran. ALL of these men were involved.

Harp, yeah Aruba is the size of Washington DC. Imagine looking for a girl. Anyway, there are a lot of caves on the northern part of the island. However these go for only one or two miles deep. Were used in the past for pirates and indians.

The northen part of the island, if you throw something it will definitely wash up back, it's too rough. The wind also blows steadily from the northern east. This is also the case with the eastern coast.

However at the Southern part if there is somehting thrown in the sea, it will wash up on the western beaches. If you really wanna get rid of something, you have to be in the Californa Lighthouse area, go a few hundred yards into the sea, rough sea and that current will drag everything to the open sea and in weeks will wash up in Panama.

To my knowledge boats have been searched. Whose or where I don't know, but this was done in the early stages of the investigation.

Also Aruba has the latest in Marine radar that cover the whole island. One covers the western part and one the eastern. They can track boat, ships and even the tiniest jet skis. (This to prevent illegal immigration from poor Latin Countries who want to make a better living and jobs, sound familiar? LOL)

The one at the eastern part was just installed a few months ago. According to a source all that has already been investigated, letting them to shift their focus on the island itself and the coast.

1)Is the Aruban government doing everything they can to get to the bottom of this?

i think the release of johns and jones was stage managed a bit, because i was very surprised they didn't gag the lawyer lejeuz. the more i see, the more i am inclined to agree with I Thought AND that this is being handled at a very sophisticated level, because without some physical evidence the only think they'll have is some sort of testimony.

Joran did go to school the next day because I saw his mother on the news about a week ago and she said her son was innocent because he got up that Tuesday and went to school to take a final exam. I personally think that the father may be involved in the cover-up. After the brothers dropped of NH and VDS, they went home. I think something "bad" did happen, and VDS freaked out--called his father to help him dispose of the evidence. just to clarify the three other men referred to in the AOL post are three men that were arrested for armed robbery of a supermarket last week

now that could be an interesting spin on things

either the poster got it wrong and these men are just being interrogated on the crime they committed or they claim they know something about Natalee's disappearance, trying to get a deal, did they get something out of the boys in jail? or maybe they are looking at these men as potentially the perpetrators

here is my possible scenario putting it all together, be interesting if they find anything interesting forensically on the three armed robbery suspects......

Deepak is now telling the truth, they dropped off Joran and Natalee at the make out beach and went home

Joran got creepy, they get into a big argument, maybe he rapes her, maybe not, either way, Natalee got mad and said I’m going home, leave me alone creep and she goes stomping back towards the Holiday Inn, either along the beach or on the road there, maybe she tries to find a taxi, and some creeps like these three armed robbery suspects are loitering on the beach or cruising around the island looking for potential robbery targets and pick her up

Joran walks home himself - be interesting to know if anyone in his family is vouching for when and how Joran returned that night but since he lives in his own apartment - see that turned out to be an unfortunate thing, I’ll bet his family cannot vouch for his comings and goings……

now if that were the case you’d think someone would have seen either of them walking, even at that time of night, or ooh, it was caught on someone’s security tapes, have they done what they do on Law & Order and check all the possible security tapes of all the establishments in that area????? gas stations, ATMs, etc???? since most establishments don't archive their tapes, I wonder if someone thought to do that immediately

now the Kalpoe brothers are not sure if Joran is guilty or not, maybe Joran has been rough before, he’s feeling guilty because of the rape and the abandonment and thinks he is going to get blamed for her murder [good call] so they concoct the first story, because maybe the brothers believe Joran at first when he says I didn’t kill that girl, now maybe the brothers are thinking, we’re not so sure now, and we’re not taking the fall for him, so now they are telling the truth

I just wanted to pass a little info on to the people reading this blog. If anyone was watching Bill O'Reily last night you may have seen two radio personalities from the Birmingham area. One of them was Dee Fine from Russ and Dee in the morning. I am from the Birmingham area and listen to their program from time to time. She is a total airheaded whack job. I have thought this for a while and she finally confirmed it to me with her behavior on O'Reily last night. She made a statement on O'Reily that these kids are children and where were the chaperones. On her radio program she made a statement that we needed to remember that these kids were 18 and are adults. She contradicts herself in this manner all the time. Her husband Russ is a bit more logical and helps to balance their show out.
Just wanted to let everyone know you need to take what Dee Fine says with a block of salt.
