As reported in the Birmingham News, the reward in the Natalee Holloway case has been increased to $75,000 and many individuals and corporations are chipping in.
Holiday Inn is providing rooms for the family and a private aircraft provided by McWane, Inc. has been used to ferry supporters onto the island of Aruba.
The support isn't just emotional. The family has been given free rooms at the Holiday Inn, the hotel where 124 Mountain Brook High School graduates had stayed with seven chaperonees. Anonymous donors in Birmingham have put up $20,000 in reward money and the City of Mountain Brook anted up $20,000, bringing the total reward money to at least $75,000.
A private jet provided by McWane Inc. has made at least two trips to deliver supporters. Leigh Karagus, the mother of a fellow graduate who was on the trip, offered to pay for three plane tickets for friends who couldn't make the jet - and then Delta chipped in half the fare.
