Web logging Carnivals are collections of posts usually with a central theme - from cooking, to quality blog writing, etc. As a NJ blogger, here is this week's Enlighten NJ Carnival. It has stories and information for people outside NJ as well. Just read and click on what you find interesting. New Natalee Holloway content can be found below this post.

It's Mr. Snitch!, reporting on the expanding Jersey blogosphere for Dan Riehl:
Dojo mojo, champion of downtown Jersey City, keeps things hot by noting the impact of prostitution in New Jersey. (That's easily overlooked, with our public officials' crimes monopolizing the courts and front pages.)
Balancing the scales, the usually rambunctious Sloppydawg notes Jersey's patriotic place in our nation's history. (This post reminds us that New Jersey's landscape received more battle scars during the Revolution than any other state.)
DynamoBuzz sounds the alarm: Jersey wants to institute a sales tax on music and other Internet downloads. And, more bad news from the folks minding our money: Pension funds are going bust, says NJ Conservative.
The House just voted to adopt a Constitutional amendment to ban flag burning. Jim at Parkway Rest Stop is very concerned.
On a more upbeat note, Jersey City's If this is paradise... proves that bloggers do too wear pants. He also points out light rail's increasing ridership.
A meme we're hearing with increasing frequency: Tech industry worker Shamrocketship gets downsized. (This is fast replacing the 'tech is untouchable' meme, a relic of the last millenium.)
EnlightenNJ is alarmed by this week's Supreme Court decision to make private property less private. (The fact that Hudson County's politicos applauded this decision should be our nation's canary in the coalmine.)
The Bad Hair Blog (New Jersey + taxes = Bad Hair!) rounds up some Jersey bloggers' reaction to the decision. Jersey City's BeLOW Me is OK with it.
The Coalition of the Swilling (which, as you can see, practices responsible drinking) chimes in with a depressing facet of this decision, and a (possibly) unexpected one.
New Brunswick's The Nightfly is "a working guy from New Jersey, a beautiful state with great people and lousy politicians" who thoughtfully wrestles with Catholicism and other issues.
Gigglechick nearly gets killed on the highway. Here's what flashes through her head.
For those doing the Jersey Shore thing, Hoboken Rock City muses on how not to be a guido - or go ahead and be one.
Furey's Hoboken apartment was robbed. Michael sees the Hoboken Vintage Base Ball game from a PR guy's POV.
Ken Adams gets back to basics.
The Center of NJ Life tells us why we should care about the Downing Street Memo.
Sluggo Needs a Nap is a big Zombie film fan. (No he's not a big Zombie. He's a big fan of Zombies. Who, coincidentally, also look like they need a nap. Oh, and they prefer 'Life Challenged'. But what's really creepy, according to Suzette, is Whoooole Foooods).
11th and Washington doesn't need Zombies. He's got something better - the Bizarro Yankees. Tami (the One True) just wants to help her friend Skippy reach a million hits. Is that so wrong? (Maybe - read the comments.)
At This Full House, Elizabeth takes us through her 40-something medical exam. (Hey, if she can take it, so can you.)
The heat takes its toll on Kate. (She's had a busy year.) Tomato Nation is not in a Good Humor, and she's not gonna take it anymore.
Jim Testa, in appreciation of Hal Holbrook and Mark Twain. TigerHawk does a nice job keeping the Times honest on Iraq.
Tim Hill returns from a blogging hiatus and covers, in a single post: Sexual euphemisms that won't catch on, a new suicide lane (outside Jersey, they're known as bike paths), a debunking of Gatorade, a scandal at the Atlantic Highlands Borough Hall, and an influential scientist who did strange things to midgets. Somewhere in there is something you want to know about.
Coffeegrounds shows us his birthday present.
Debbie Galant posts on the sublime joys of a rock concert for the middle-aged.
Beck does not like Jon Corzine. Not in a box, not with a fox, not near a...

The search team or detectives need to be looking for Natalee where she could be held hostage on a sailboat or fishing boat. As it is now it seems they are looking for a dead body.

Thanks, Dan and everyone behind the Carnival for the link love! Now instead of just checking off "run away and join the carnival" from my lifetime to-do list, I may soon check off "be an internet rockstar!"

I USED to live in Hasbrook Heights Dan ...
... ever see that Kliban cartoon of 'Houdini Escapes from New Jersey'?
He is pictured RUNNING across the GW bridge.
STILL one of the funniest cartoons I have EVER seen.
HEY!!! Stop by and drop a bomb once in awhile.
