I understand today's updates may have been frustrating - they were for me, too. Given their nature, I was especially concerned about the reporting. Consequently, I've been on the phone with various contacts on the island for over three hours.
There is nothing to retract at this time, that however does not mean that the search at the quarry in question resulted in any conclusive findings.
I am going to write a few updates. In the meantime, would some of the regular readers of this blog please email me the names associated with inappropriate comments. I can get an IP address from there and likely delete and ban many very efficiently.
Anyone emailing nonsense to me will be immediately banned and their e mail will be block at the IP level, as will their ability to comment on this site.

Dan,
I am sorry that some people get their kicks from inappropriate comments and that you now have to spend your time cleaning it up when you could be doing other things.
Thanks for trying.

I'm in Mountain Brook and the word from a Twitty relative is PVDS was seen out in Aruba at 3 a.m. I was told this a week ago and posted it here and haven't wavered from it. I've seen it mentioned today that he picked up JVDS at 4 a.m. but I don't know if that is the case or not.
However, for those keeping a timeline I think you can add PVDS being out at 3 a.m.
He obviously knows something and this has to be part of the family's frustration with PVDS being released.

Have they stopped their search at the quarry for the day and plan to resume tomorrow?

I'm a regular reader - not so much writer... Lately, there's been some real weirdo's and so much to weed through... Thanks for flushing them out Dan!

dan, God Bless You! I dont believe anything would occur without you as regards the investigation. We are dealing with banana republic thieves, liars, and yes, a corrupt government.

I agree with you 100% keep up the good work Dan!

Dan,
I agree with Mel. I know you'll get some good help with this. I have read many upstanding and sincere contributors to this site and see the nonesense mentality of the immature and uncompassionate fools. Their folly is their ONLY reward.

Good Move!!!! Your site does not deserve this crap. Some people don't have feelings. Thanks for your outstanding efforts in this new form of journalism. Someone in the industry will offer you a great job I'm sure. Your blog is very addictive because of the confidence I have in you. I continue to pray for the family of Natalee.

Greta is on now, they are asking for many to help within the US because they are not getting the hlep they need besides ES going down there. Lets see who else we can get to help? What does everyone think of John Walsh?

Calli:
i think john walsh would be a nice comfort (if that is possible) and support for natalee's family. good call.

Fox/Greta was just interviewing the head of ES team. He stated that 2 of the dogs had contacted something and that divers had been brought in and were searching an area of water close to the VDS home. Said the search was not complete.

Dan - Thanks so much for cleaning out those trolls. The "invasion" was a madhouse. You are the Man and yours is the Blog. The readers here for the main, post thought out quieries. And you are very responsible, sincere and thorough and make every attempt to verify. Sometimes, I have wondered about some of the trolls, especially those of certain "unnamed" nationalities. Could they be trying to disrupt so much with the thought that the posters will just get fed up and quit (and thereby put an end to bloggers getting to the bottom of things?) Just a thought.

Dan,
I am not quite sure who has been banned but I get quite anxious when censorship in any form becomes necessary!?! I still see that 'Publius' is still able to post ignorant statements like "...banana republic thieves, liars, and yes, a corrupt government."....... Maybe you should post clear & decisive guidelines as to what constitutes 'trolling' so that that rule s can be enforced in a uniform manner!

so what's the story behind the "hit" of the dogs??? what happened?
Posted by: nagpur | Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at 12:10 AM
two dogs hitting in the same area at the quarry. it might not be natalee but would think it would be something related to a dead person. when dogs hit they have a distintive reaction to the scent.

Regarding Samthebam's comments:
So maybe PVDS was not "sound asleep" as his wife said...Are you sure that the 3 a.m. being mentioned was not the next night - the 31st, when they spoke with Natalee's family? If not, maybe both VDS's were on the prowl while mom was away. (That would explain a lot of the sweating VDS was doing during the Greta interview). One thing for sure, Joran is lieing to protect someone, as he has changed the story on who picked him up, or that he walked home, etc. The brothers have called him a liar about picking him up. I think he would consider himself above walking anywhere unless he was really scared.
Another thing, why has there been no offer to help search from the VDS family? That would be the first thing I would want to do if I was innocent. With most of the island helping search, it looks really bad that the VDS family does not lift a finger.
Maybe he slipped the girl a ruffie, and when she got sick (or worse), he got in touch with whoever gave him the stuff and told him "you gave me the stuff and look what happened...now we are both in deep doodoo, so hightail it over here and help me or I'll tell where I got it". Either that, or pops drove by (on the way home) and happened to see him. I say that because surely they have checked the phone records and if he called home or pops called him, even the most incompetent cops would surely have not let him go today.
I don't think she's in the water. (Do the VDS's even have a boat? I think she is not far away from that beach. Wouldn't it be hard to get her to a car without being seen? If those searchers find the right place, I think they are going to find a shoe/sandal that was lost...just a hunch.
I would suggest that in light of the lack of results so far from the Aruban authorities and the searchers, why not call in a psychic detective...they do so well on Court TV...what could it hurt? Sometimes they are surprisingly accurate.

Quick thought - could they have buried her in the sand? If so, what means (other than the dogs) could they use to find her?
