Natalee Holloway Still Missing: Images From Aruba 2

This is a two part post, additional information and images in post below and at Blogger News Network.

The image at right is an outside daytime view of Carlos and Charlies, the Aruban version of a string of night spots from Texas to Cozumel and Cancun.

Additional images of the Arashi Beach area are below. As mentioned in the post above, the terrain is not that of a simple sand beach. The area where Natalee Holloway was last reported to be taken before being dropped at her hotel is not an easy one to search.

The search is all the more complicated by the surrounding water - home to difficult tides and currents. As previously reported, the Auban authorities have requested the asistance of the FBI through a special diving teram capable of searching amid the currents and under water outcroppings in the area.

Natalee Holloway has been missing for nearly a week and although early reports from the family stated that the impression they were given by Aruban authorities was the the case would move forward very quickly after the weekend, the information coming from the government remains sketchy, at best. It is unclear if that is by design, so as to not hinder the investigation, or if it involves their significant concern over the damage this incident may do to their tourist trade.

Aruba has always enjoyed a reputation as a carefree wonderland. The Natalee Holloway disappearance could result in the public taking another look. Home to casinos, discos and nightspots with a drink and rock until you drop attitutde, it's unclear if future trips like the senior class trip Natalee was on will find Aruba to be an acceptable destination in the near future.

I feel like she has ran into some trouble. The girl who disappered 7 yrs ago in aruba strikes me as being odd. That girl was last seen in a bothel house by a naval officer, who never reported seeing her until one year later, by then, the house had burned down. I hope Natalie is okay and i pray for her return. What i think happend to her, seems like a setup. Almost as if a boat came in and picked her up. I feel that the three guys she was with had some part in it. These are just my theories. Who knows?

The Naval person who went to a brothel on Curacao said that Amy asked him for help, told him her name. She said, "My name is Amy Bradley. Please help me." He didn't know anybody was missing. He told her there was a naval ship five minutes down the dock that she could leave.

And she said, "No, you don't understand. Please help me. My name is Amy Bradley." At that time, two men in the bar removed her, told her to move and go upstairs.

He did not report anything. He had been on the ship. And being a petty officer, there were certain unauthorized areas that he could not go into, and that's where he was. When he saw Amy on the front cover of a major magazine, he had since retired and he contacted us.

And he said, "I have seen your daughter. I have seen her. I have talked to her. And she was in trouble." And he said, "I apologize for not doing anything about that."

There's one thing I want to make clear here to parents and to people that are traveling. Venezuela, on a good day from Curacao or Aruba, is in sight. We have been told by locals and been told by investigators, there are boats incoming. They come and go freely.

What i feel like happend is either those guys raped and killed her or they sold her for prostitution. They could of set her up... the boat could've came in and picked her up just like amy. I don't think the 3 teens killed Natalee. I think that the dutch teen really liked her but did not kill her. I think they may have dropped her off at the hotel where the 2 ex-security guards, who have been arrested, took her to a secluded area. Despite doing all she could to resist them, she was too drunk. They did not want her to go to police and unfortunately ended her life. The police were quick to arrest them. The arrested the teens because they did not tell them everything about that night and the police have still not found her body.

I hope that I am wrong & Natalee is still with us. She seems like a very well-rounded person. My prayers are with her family and friends.

Im am from Madison, Alabama, and am Natalee's age. You know you always look at other people's stories on the news and you always feel sorry for them and all...but in the back of your mind you always think that it would never happen to you... like its always going to be someone else. Its scary when something like this happens so close to home. It makes you realize that it can happen to you or your family...Natalee just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time (or so it seems), it could have been anyone. The carribean where Aruba is located is known for drug smuggling and slave trading.Heres what happened and don't think its a fantasy because although Aruba does not wish to loose American tourists,what they do not wish to loose is the
American dollar attached to the tourist.The Dutch kid took Ms.Holloway like they said,maybe like they said to this so called park or beach or whatever and its well known that all 3 of them play the teenagers idea of gangster lifestyles.They either met a slave trader boat and sold her to one of those types or they have connections unknown at this time to the security guards at the "Holiday Inn".Now suppose this so called guard that Ms.Holloway met in the parking lot knew very well that a security camera was watching his moves and took her out of its site and he also hussled her off to a waiting party and they took her off the island of Aruba.It does not make sense to bring search dogs 3 days after the whole thing happened.All 5 of these men are probably connected someway or another.The youngsters trying to play the roll of BIG Shots with underworld types.......more than likely the poor girl was sold to a slave trader.Young blond females bring BIG BIG dollars in the far eastern brothels.....Or the worst scenario is that the honor student killed her and dumped her body with a anchor of some type in the local waters.These kids know where sharks etc.feed they live on the island...Something bad happened eh? uhhhhhh ! It really hurts to see how one crime like this can affect Aruba this much on the news.

My thoughts and prayers go out deeply to Natalie Holloway and her family. I can not even imagine how they must be feeling now, sending their daughter off to celebrate graduation..to only find out she may not return home. I pray to God that she is still alive, but I heard last night that there was a confession to her murder. I'm an eighteen year old girl from NY and my friends and I go on vacations together for spring break and just summer vacations to different countries with my friends. I know the feeling of just wanting to go there, relax, party and have a good time and you never think something like this would ever happen. I am so so sorry for her and her family and I wish there was something that could be done to take away the pain and hurt they must be feeling. This story has really effected me and I keep following it, it bothers me so much, I keep thinking about how her family and friends must be feeling. This should be a lesson though to all of us teens.. its fun to party and have a good time.. but you should always stay with your friends and never go off alone by yourself with some random guys you don't know. We shouldn't drink until we can't walk because thats like easy prey .. and than we can be easily taken advantage. It is IMHO that the Aruban Judicial system is covering up the incident to protect the economcy as a tourist attraction.

Even if it was proved they did kill this young lady, I belive they will find or make up an infraction that lets these three off the hook.

I really thought that a person is innocent till proven guilty. The FBI just told the family not to contact the media or to say the least possible in order not to affect the investigation.

Secondly, what the hell about in Aruba they disciriminate? Short story about Aruba and Aruban descendants; Aruba was an Indian island, then came the Spanish conquistadores, the Englis came and was then taken by France, again by Spain and finally by the Dutch. We have a long history of peaceful living amongst the many nationalities on this Island. In Aruba we don't discriminate against nationality (Aruba is a melting pot), Race, Religion, Education, Gender and sexual preferences. Can you say that about other countries or even your city? Uhmm, don't think so.

I talked to an American guy, I asked him why there is so much publicity about this case, there are hundreds of similar cases every day in USA and even Americans missing all over the world. He replied, because she had a future. My question was, what about the hundreds of children lost everyday in the states, don't they have a future too? He could not answer me.

My instinct is that this is a one-night stand or a vacation fling gone wrong. If they are guilty it will be proven in court and not in the media.

Had been in the past few cases where americans killed their wives, kid or other relative due to insurance, alcohol or other problems. I'm not insinuating anything, but these cases never had a major media coverage. In the past FBI, CIA and DEA had many cases where they work with their colleagues in Aruba.

In the last few years, I remember the cases where an American guy threw his wife from the balcony of a Hotel (now Wyndham Aruba) for the insurance money. Last year, a American Kid was lost on Sea after going with his stepdad on a jetski, the mom stayed here a few weeks and left. No media coverage.

What about the Missing girl on the cruise ship of 7 years ago? She left Aruba on the ship, they saw her hours before docking in Curacao then she vanished. Many rumors, even that she was seen at a brothel. But when the parents wanted to sue he cruise line, they were not allowed because they did not tell the truth about the facts of many sightings of this girl on the island, walking around, in clubs etc. The case was thrown out of court.

The report on CNN regarding the prostitutes on the island, we all know that Dutch law permits that and are being regulated, inspected and controlled by different government departments. You might find this disgusting, but hey at least by allowing it or regulating it we can prevent other
illegal activities and it's working, we don't have prostitutes walking the streets or pimps or gangs or other well known activities in other countries and cities.

In Holland we legalize marihuana, why you would ask. Well, it prevents illegal selling and distribution, murders, and other illegal things. Let the government control it.

Slave handling? Prostitute rings, you sure you're talking about Aruba? Or you think we're mexico? We have Dutch coastguard, Aruban Coastguard and AMERICAN Coast guard patrolling waters around Aruba.... We have Forward Operations Location on the island (American) and CIA and DEA working here, do you think they will let that happen? An island that has thousands of Americans every day?

Slave? We all know some people don't or will not ever have a closure regarding slavery that shamed the world centuries ago... or decades ago in the states. We got over it, centuries ago Curacao was used to transport slave to the states. Nieuw Amsterdam (New Amsterdam) or if you call it by his present name New York was part of the Dutch Kingdom too. Yeah it was sold to England later on. Uhmmm, we never had color or racial profiling or discrmination. No hate crimes or gay bashings. Can you say that about other countries or cities?

Please, let's give the authorities chance to investigate this case further and make a strong or tight case againt anyone who is responsible for Natalee's missing.

I seriously doubt she was sold into slavery, or even prostitution. But it is a possibility. The sad thing is that Aruba will be blamed for all of this mishap. Aruba's tourism will deminish drastically in the next few years, and then maybe in 5-10 years it will pick up again. Once this has been forgotten about. The girls disapperance I am sure has something to do with her saying "no." I'm sure its sometype of sexual situtation on the beach, (near the lighthouse or what not.) that ended wrong. They were all drunk, and this affects people's tempers tremendously. That is my theory anyways. Another thing is that one of them is the son of a Dutch Official. This could be a huge thing, in that he could get off scott free. I'm sure the US is going to take care of its business there, mainly because they have too.

The case is so widely publicized that it almost has to be taken care of correctly. The thought that this is just a setup so the US can spy on neighboring countries is just ludicrous. There are much easier ways of doing this, then kidnapping a 18 year old girl. Please think before you post, and don't buy into everything right off the bat. Since we are the only Super Power left, lets just hope we get things done.

But about the tourism industry I am certain it will not affect it drastically.

For one, Aruba has been in Tourism Business for over 50 years. Make your calculations; average half a million Americans per year, so you have over 25 million Americans that have stayed here not mentioning the other millions that were here in cruise ships.

Our American tourists are very loyal to Aruba and it's 80% repeat business. So with all the negative thing being posted on internet by clueless people or just for bashing an island reputation or just to release their anger for what had happened, they will still keep on coming.

They know how Arubans are, how the culture is, how we live and how safe it is.

So if we lose something of that group it will not be that high. And not ignoring that Aruba is also a hot spot for European tourists, Latin america and even neighbouring islands love it here because of the security, relax living and high standard of living compared to all other islands and neighbouring countries.

We all love Americans and all other tourists alike, no matter from which country they come from.

I have a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and work for the Federal Government. I'm an American and I couldn't agree more with "I Thought." You are the only one making sense of this whole thing. People need to stop jumping to conclusions and giving the rest of us Americans a bad name. Not all of us are stereotyping Arubans, not all of us blame the entire island and its people for what's happening. And I agree, while this is in fact a tragic case, there are millions more just like it that just haven't been given as much media coverage, and that's not fair to those families. It's sad that this girl was months away from earning a college education on a full scholarship and (as it looks now) won't be able to enjoy it, but at the same time, there are plenty of other people who are in worse situations. I mean, SHE chose to leave this bar with these guys, straight-A student or not, that was a stupid decision, drunk or not. She made a poor decision that may have ended her life, and now her family has to live with that for the rest of their lives.. but what about those poor children who are shot to death in their sleep buy their crazy parents who then end up committing suicide, or other similiar situations where people have lost their lives without even making a bad decision?? The point is, it's sad, but she made a mistake, and Americans need to stop blaming Aruba and it's people for Natalee's poor judgement. Perhaps this should be a lesson to parents out there who are stupid enough to let their 17 and 18 year old KIDS go on vacations to other countries by themselves.. I am 21, just graduated college and am headed to medical school, and I consider myself to be a responsible, well-behaved kid who never gave my parents any reason not to trust me when I was growing up- BUT, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD I EVER EVEN EXPECT THEM TO LET ME TAKE A TRIP LIKE THE ONE THOSE KIDS WENT ON! That's something you should do as an adult, when you can pay for it by yourself!!

In any case, it's a sad situation, but let's not forget that the tragedy of losing a child, whether they are murdered or missing, is one that affects millions of people all over the world... While I pray for Natalee and her family, I also pray that those other families find what they are looking for. Instead of dwelling on one family, we should be working towards the future and making sure tragedies like these NEVER happen again.

This is what is so great about the USA. Everyone has their own opinion and are allowed to express it freely even if it sounds "stupid" to others. There is also nothing wrong with debating an issue. This is how crimes get solved. I personally think these boys are responsible and do know what happened to Natalee and know where she is. Everyone says she left freely with these guys. How do we know she wasn't forced in some way or coereced. Maybe they threatened her, or maybe they told her one of her friends was ill outside. No one knows for sure. But it is awesome that people can freely give their opinion. Also, the reason that some cases get more publicity than others is $$$. Obviously Natalee's parents can afford to stay on the Island as long as they can to find Natalee. There are others with missing children or family members that don't have that type of funding at their disposal.
