First please let me say how troubling for me it is that I find the disappearance of Natalee Holloway to be the subject of so many of you visiting here these past few days. I detach myself from the harsh reality of this case when reporting on it. I do not celebrate the attention while ignoring the great pain of Natalee's family and friends during this time.
That said, I do work a regular job all day, reporting in the off hours which have yielded too little sleep since this began. While I cannot even follow this story during the day, I am currently one step away from reasonably confirming an exclusive report of information I have yet seen published in this terrible matter.
It will not in all probability assist in the resolution of the case; if confirmed, it may however answer a great many questions on the minds of America as regards the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
I report here as things develop - I tell the truth as it can be ascertained when told to me. IF I am able to establish some final confirmations required to write this story and it hasn't already been written, it will be compelling and informative reading. I write this now so that you know I am still very active in my reporting - have been working on this for some time and will share it just as soon as possible, I believe later this evening.
I apologize for what can only seem as a blatant tactic to attract attention. But, I felt I must update and, having just gotten free to finish up some required steps prior to publishing this story - I wanted some very faithful readers to know I am genuinely working as hard as I can on this. If the confirmations fall apart - I will say so and apologize.
Sorry if this "journalism" is a bit like watching sausage being made - but it is also an attempt by me to give readers a real look into what blog writing is for many. Most of us struggle for time just as I am now.

Good Luck, Dan. We're patient!

Dan,
This most certainly is a sad case, and could get sadder still. But, because we are all joined in this thing called humanity, "attention must be paid." I sit and think of all of the involved families changed by this needless mess.
In any event, I write to thank you for your efforts. All of us must sleep and know that you must also.
I have not learned as much about this case from you as I have about the world of blogging, which is all so new to me.
Thanks for you efforts.

ironically, and sadly, it is because of Natalee that I am here....after all is said and done, and poor Natalee gets her proper burial, since I do feel she is dead, and justice is served, your blog will live on and be an interesting place to come to....thankyou for your hard work....

Dan, just remember, we all trust you. We trust you very much. Thanks and good luck closing this next stage out.

We at Scared Monkeys certainly feel the same regarding this story as well. It has been difficult at best to get info and then when we do lately we have held our breath as to its validity.
All we wish to do is help find Natalee. Thank you Dan for your hard work and discussion on this matter.

I'd like to also voice the respect and admiration for the great job you've done with this story, considering how high emotions are running.
I discovered your blog through Scared Monkeys which I have also been reading, and it certainly won't be the last time I visit.
I haven't had much time to check up on the latest today...will be back for the cliffhanger.

Your site is giving out incredible info. Please keep it up.
Since this is my first post, I want to say that I live in the Birmingham area and this case has really hit close to home. I am praying for Natalee and this family and I would be overjoyed to see her come home safely. This is a story of unreal scope and it will go on for a long time, I believe. No matter the outcome.

Dan,
I am guilty too for coming here on updates on Natalee. I guess I feel like it is a place I can come to and read how others feel about this very sad situation. My prayer throughout the days are for Natalee to be returned to her family and justice be served. All your countless hours, hard work, and many efforts are greatly appreciated by many readers. Keep up the good work.

Dan,
I'd like to echo the comments posted by Rabbit. Your hard work is not going unappreciated.
I feel privileged to have stumbled across such engaging, yet principled, reporting. Blogs such as yours offer a refreshing alternative to otherwise liberal-slanted, agenda-driven, and/or inept delivery of news-worthy material.
While this medium/format is inherently vulnerable to excessively-casual reporting of the facts, many of the large network "professionals" could learn from the diligence that prevents your work becoming a casual(ty) of poor journalistic standards.

Wait one second bucco heh. I wouldn't stop there. I do agree some media is agenda and liberal but at the same time, have you read his posts about Fox's coverage. He's reporting is also nonconservative or sensationalized.

You are doing a great service to satisfy our curiosities regarding this
case. With that said, You should be getting some rest as some of the attention in the media is now being directed at the Michael Jackson verdict coverage.

I just heard on Fox that a gentleman going to a concert in NC had gotten into a conversation with a lady who had recently closed a shop in Aruba and her son had been to school w/Joran. Early June she told this man that she had been on the phone w/Paul van der sloot, that he had told her he was worried about Joran having to go to jail as he was on the beach w/Natalee and they were taking extacy and she fell and hit her head and it was an accidental death. It sounded like all three boys were there--I wish I had taped it. Anyway Paul vdS was telling this woman about the death and it was like early June, prior to June 15th and after 1st days of June. This woman said that she had closed her shop in Aruba and moved to NC or it could have been SC. The time frame was about the same time that it came out that one time that Joran had confessed in jail. I hope we hear more about this.

what did she hit her head on? sand?

let me add, I have two theories,
1) she was traded in the sex slave trade.
2) all 3 guys tried to have their way with her,and she resisted, resulting in them getting too rough then worrying about her telling, and you can figure the rest.
I hope she is found somewhere, alive.
