Over 700 volunteers have joined the search for missing Alabama honor student Natalee Holloway and the Aruban government closed early so an additional 4,000 civil servants could join in the search.
Carlos and Charlie's, the last known location for the teen, is a well-known tourist partying spot and isn't shy about letting people know it. At its website it proclaims:
Drink a Mother Margarita, in a 28 oz. souvenir yard glass, refill it and dance until you drop. At Carlos 'N Charlie’s there is always something happening, with live entertainment daily.
And judging from additional content, the theme is played out to the maximum.
(Carlos and Charlies) Is famous for the fact that we make you party while you are eating your dinner or lunch! While eating or drinking from our World Famous 28oz Yard drink, we will have shots, some more shots and to top it off, some more shots!
Additional pics from inside the club can be found at website linked above. Update: There were links to internal pages, though I did not hot link individual images. Carlos and Charlies emailed and asked me to remove the links as it was causing crashing, or some other issue with their server.
The lighthouse pictured at right is believed to be the one near Arashi Beach, identified by the three men Natalee left with as the general location where they took the young woman.
The beach landscape around Aruba might not be what some imagine, as it has a host of outcroppings and structures due to the islands terrain. For a short series of pictures depiecting the nightclub from the outside, as well as the beach area and hotels, please see here.

Dan, ever since the news hit, and with every one of your posts, as concerned as I remain for Natalie Holloway, I have wanted to make the comment that Cao makes much better today:

What were her parents thinking /before/ this happened?

Has anyone heard anything about the findings from the DNA test from the blood found in the silver car that was impounded about 2 weeks ago?

Angela,
What kind of fear are you talking about? I can't believe the stupidity of your words! It's not like they've found a body or anything!
I'm just checking this weblog, because i can't believe how you americans are reacting to the events on Aruba. It is a friendly and safe island, not soms kind of drinking, sex and gamblingparadise!

Barbara,
I don't live in Aruba, however, what is the reason tourism is so high in your country? Drinking, gambling??? Along with drinking comes sex. I'm not sure what the deal is with people fussing about Aruba. In my mind this is something that happens quite often in the US and also in other countries. I hope Natalee is found alive, but I don't see that. I have become obsessive over this and pray for Natalee and her family every day. I don't understand why people don't come together to prevent things like this from happening in the future!

I am from Mobile, AL...about 4 hours from B-Ham.
I hate that this has happened. I cannot imagine what her parents feel or how they are able to cope & remain sain. I hope that they get answers soon.

Bottom line: Joran, you are not worried because you believe "No Body, No Case." Natalie is gone. Drugs used in Aruba nightclubs are trafficked in by boats landing at the beach at night, with business increased by taking sex slaves as return cargo. You know she is not alive -- murdered in a kidnap attempt and dumped at sea. 'No body; No case' gives you confidence, but it is false confidence, because now we have the Internet and Satellite Photos! We will build an "Accesory to Murder" case.
You spiked her drinks and 'date raped' her -- Part of the social life of 'sleeze' teens in Aruba, you know that I know that!
You ignored what your parents taught you about how to treat a lady -- "kiss and don't tell" -- instead you followed the sleaze code of sex predators! Grow up, Joran. You are seriously wrong! Tell the rest of the story before Satellite Photography, and world-wide-web resources prove that you were involved! You didn't kill her! You are a sleeze bag rapist, but not a murderer. Tell the story, so it can be fixed to prevent it happending again.
Also, the way to treat women is "Kiss and don't Tell" -- drugs, rape, gang-bang, and accessory to murder are not options! You bring them them back home safely the way that you found them, so they grow up, have a life and pay taxes! I know why you had your sleeze friends join you on the beach in early hours.
Best that you speak up now, before the satellite camera information hits the media, then you are done! .... Frank Reasoner.

don't judge the aruba island; holland must do something i think.what about the 130 classmates went with her to aruba.after her dissapearance noticed i think all the transportations at that time must be delayed.i think she is not killed but she is in a physicologically ill person's hands.
