I've been reading your weblog (ty), enticed by a, in my opinion, funny dutch weblog.. I have had a funny experience today relating to your efforts here. Want to tell this, hear me out: I am 32, dutch, amsterdam netherlands and i have a study buddy/friend living in/on (?) aruba. I was e-mailing him on the topic today and your log, and he, with a very large incrowd of aruban/dutch elite, told me the following; He is also reading all the posts here daily and apparently he heard from a 'legal' friend of his, that the local police is using your site to speeden up their investigation, as in closely follwing all of this, trying to get new points of view.. how much prove do you need, assuring you your efforts are not in vain!

Well....to all the Aruban authorities reading this weblog...here is a little tip:

Take Papa Vandersloot and have him arrested for covering up, aiding and abetting a crime, and as an accesory to a crime.

It was very easy for you to arrest two black security guards with nothing but a pack of lies from the boys.

It appears that Papa Sloot knows much, much more. I am sure you have more than enough "suspicious" evidence to bring him in and hold him. How 'bout it guys?

Once you have Papa Sloot, turn up the heat. Let the kid know that because of his actions his father is also in jail and is going to "fry" on this one. The kid should just come clean on everything so that Papa Sloot can go on living his life of gambling and running from TV cameras.

You guys have cut the Sloot's slack every step of the way. It will be amazing to see if you can build a case after giving them over 10 days to dispose of evidence and work on their stories. Now its time to bring in Papa. The cover-up must end.

I agree with you that could be a ploy to trick for the information that is needed. Greta on the Record met papa sloot with Natalee's mom earlier on Tuesday. What a change in disposition for papa was willing to talk Mrs. Twitty and Greta; however, his sweaty nervous hands are telling on himself. He probably wanted to clear up negative reports on his image, not realizing he has been seen all over the world running from the cameras, including Florida!

I am glad that I wasn't the only one that noted what Joran's friend think of him. It does make one wonder..I had email the link to fox news as Greta was asking what does everyone else think of Joran in Aruba..like what people are saysing about him? A good example from his own friend.

Joran said he left Natalee on the beach (another verison again) and went home his Mother had told Greta and Mrs. Twitty, since she is the only one that can see him. He will have lots of time to think about it sitting in a hot, sweaty, and no air-condition prison cell. The simple fact is, that question will be answered one way or another in a matter of weeks or months. why doesnt the aruban govt simply admit today, what we will know shortly? Is it just me or are Aruba officials covering other heinous activities? In the last week I have seen two blurbs about murder and they have disappeared. ONE, the decapitated man and about 3 days later another alleged murder. During my searchs I came across two statistics stating "officially" Aruba has had two murders and three rapes in 2005 (before Ms Holloway's disappearance") and the source was not Aruba News. Note: Ms Twitty strained in the news video of the 14th (?) to keep positive and respectful of the Aruban Officals/Government. I agree with the decision to bring in the Texas *by the way a non-profit org.* search Team, and action of filing an international lawsuit. Playing devil's advocate here, but even IF he were innocent (or worse, guilty but gets off), surely they would not want that scandal associated with their University. Not to mention, there would always be doubt in their minds about his character and capabilities. As it is, it is pretty much confirmed that he is an under-age drinker and gambler, and thus has no respect for the law, even if it is a law that is not enforced.

You said a lot of what I think on a daily basis. Ever heard the quote that goes something like evil exists or grows or something when good "men" sit back and do nothing? That is what is going on. The majority of people in this world are good, loyal, moral, hardworking people who sit back and think we cannot make a difference while a small majority change everything. It is a sorry world anymore when people for instance are sorrier for the criminal than the victim, think he's cute and therefore could do no wrong, etc. or it is a victim's fault somehow for doing what they did, being where they were, etc. Such things could contribute in some cases but it DOES NOT excuse the criminal!

In all the mention of everything, you did not touch on one thing and am interested in your thought on it. Porn and Hollywood, media and television. In my lifetime I had never really been anti-porn, I remember a few videos back in the early 80s watched with my now ex-husband. They were pretty standard, a normal looking woman and a normal looking guy, nothing great looking about it and nothing too weird about it. I never thought much about it one way or the other until these days where it has all changed drastically and ANYTHING goes from bestiality to incest, particularly internet porn. I think women had also come farther back then than where we are at now, it gets worse and worse and we are nothing but something to be used, abused, raped, killed, etc. (I do not know if you are male or female). As the mother of two daughters, age 19 and 23, I cannot believe how the world has changed. Let's start with the sex bracelets and 12-year-old girls who are to do whatever the boy requests based on the bracelet he snaps. Let's start with boys exposed to internet porn or happens on it accidentally or it is sent to him who think a girlfriend is there to do what a porn star does which is basically just to service the man, not the other way around. Let's talk about boob jobs and pretty recent news that they were one of the top gifts for graduating senior girls. Let's talk about because of the Brittany thing for one, it is now almost expected for a girl at a party to get with her girlfriend for one of their boyfriend's sake. This is not made up, it is common. Let's talk about Joran or Scott Peterson and the porn connection. Girls/women are there to be used/abused, taken, to service the man. Forget porn, what about TV, they push it and push it and push it and soon anything is going to go even on network television. I am so close to dropping TV service it is not even funny. Let's talk about a society where pedophiles and child rapists get out of jail and do it again and again before enough outrage exists to maybe, MAYBE do something about it. Women and children are not valued. They are to be used and abused. On the internet and with our emails, porn appears sometimes and cannot be gotten rid of very easily. Headlines like mother and daughter, barely legal, teen Asian, and those are some of the nicest I can say here, I have even seen father does daughter headlines on some of this crap that gets gets into your email, etc. This keeps up at this rate, in years to come there will come a day, you just watch, where incest will be legal and child pornography and molestation will be okay. I am no prude, believe me, but things are way, way out of control. It is downright scary. And once you start watching for it, you will be amazed. Just start watching normal TV, watch CSI or even a crime show like that and count how often the victim is a raped woman, a molested child, a murdered woman or a murdered child, often with a sexual twist. Count the times and then count how often the story has nothing revolving around a sex crime, a woman or a child (almost never). Even if a man is murdered, it is usually because he did such a thing to someone or was involved in prostitution, etc. While at first glance, one thinks this is not bad as the bad guy ends up caught, but when you start watching long enough and looking at it thinking about this kidn of stuff, the fact this is always the theme starts to take on a new meaning. There are a few sit coms I like but watch those also and notice the wife and daughters are almost always attractive while the man usually has a beer gut and is a slouch/couch potato. The women are usually in low cut shirts but the men are never, ever portrayed that way or in a sexually overt way as are the women. It is common knowledge that women on TV/movies are pressured when they gain weight and not used in parts but the man with the gut, balding, etc. can still land a great part, particularly in sit coms. Pay per view porn on cable. Find one that has three men and one woman, you can't. But you will find tons that are all women or all women and one man. And if you did find one that was more men than women, the men would be raping the woman or she would be servicing them, never the other way around and her parts would be the ones shown in detail, always. While many of us older people (I am 41) can keep such things in perspective and know this is not the way normal life/sex always is or in extreme cases, ever is, and used as a fantasy in the head with a trusted partner it may be one thing but with children growing up on it THESE DAYS (the internet and even network TV stuff they are pulling these days) and perverted minds like that of Scott Peterson, Michael Jackson or child molestors or rapists watching this stuff it has I am sure a far different effect and connotation. While what I am talking about is not responsible for everything you mention, this stuff is going crazy and is contributing to certain things and attitudes and I cannot believe people are not more outraged about so many things as you said. With this stuff, two things happened simultaneously. In Clinton's terms in office, he was the first president ever not to enforce or see any obscenity charges or cases filed against such things. All of a sudden such things were not a big deal. Simultaneously, the internet was exploding and is not government regulated because it moved and grew so fast (not that I am for government regulation of things but something has to be done), it is worldwide and the porn stuff has gone crazy as have pedophiles and rapists used it against our children, catching vulnerable kids in chat rooms, etc. Top this off with it is almost becoming acceptable to be a porn star where years ago, no actress worth her salt or anyone wanting to become one would have traveled that road. On top of that cable television and Hollywood has discovered the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and addiction level in it. I want to know why I cannot order and pay for just the channels I want on my TV. If I want say a cable news channel, I get everything else I don't want in my cable line up that comes with it. If we could have just what we wanted, at least what we bought would say a lot about what most people want from Hollywood and if the majority took the rare good stuff, a statement would be clearly made. Look up and read some of the stuff that is on even channels you may not have noticed (popular channels such as Comedy Central, FOX, even network TV shows) by looking at the Morality in Media site or Parents Advisory Council something, something to do with television programming. The phrases and scenarios they have tracked on some of these shows/channels are outrageous and I have not even noticed with some of them until I read some of this. I am as guilty as anyone of doing nothing. They sneak more and more in all the time and we sit back and do nothing, yet I believe the silent majority are letting the minority dictate this stuff and most of us hate it and what this nation and world is turning into and we do nothing about it. I think it is time we all find the time and quit sitting silently while this world turns into a cesspool. It is unthinkable that some criminals are ever allowed out of prison, particularly in my opinion if it is a crime against a child. Why do we stand for it? It is sad when a perp can do more time for stealing a car than molesting a child for instance. Where the heck has common sense gone? I have changed my opinion considerably in the last year or so with regard to porn, I never used to mind one way or the other or think much about it but it is EVERYWHERE now and getting to be the more abnormal type of it every day. At the very least, the fact children are exposed to such things and even outragous things on network TV is absolutely unacceptable. While people may argue it is a parent's responsibility to raise them right, watch them on the net, etc., etc, any parent knows they may see it at a friend's, they may walk in a store and just see stupid headlines that sizzle sex, sex, sex or how to please your man on the front of major magazines, it is all over and it is in the culture of these kids, their get togethers these days, everything. Once again, I am no prude and I never thought I would feel this way so that is not the reason here. To anyone reading this, just think about this and start watching for it on everything you watch and you will notice the prevailing theme whether it is rape, molestation, the good looking women and the couch potato, beer bellied funny man, etc., etc., etc. I gave the George Lopez show a chance and thought it was funny the first time I saw it but the very next time I watched it there was actually a reference to incestuous child molestation and it was supposed to be a joke. My boyfriend has even started paying attention since I started noticing this stuff and he never noticed just how bad things have gotten until he started watching for it and he reacted to the George Lopez show remark in a very negative way even before I did. We could not believe it. On network TV. The very last time I watched it. And back to the porn thing, I think especially when one has daughters as I do and when I realize most girls in these things are probably my daughters' ages, it really bothers me. And I think that is one reason the NH case hits home with me. That is what some of these boys today think girls are for, to be used for their own pleasure, to service them, to use them in a selfish fantasy and to throw away. I am not knocking teenage boys or any such things, this is what these kids are seeing growing up these days and especially unsupervised or spoiled kids and they are not of an age or generation to realize and take this stuff for what it is. And I think most of us figure or suspect some sort of sex was an issue in this case and probably at Joran's hands.

A narcissist is usually the life of the party. He/she makes superficial friendships easily, and is skillful at manipulating other people to get what he/she wants. He/she lives behind a mask, and can charming and even charismatic, when he/she chooses to be. He/she is vain and extremely careful about personal grooming and cleanliness. Narcissists are normally above average in intelligence. They tend to be outstanding students, and excel in many areas, such as athletics and business. The narcissist bends the rules. He/she knows the difference between right and wrong, but does not care, as long as he/she is not caught. He/she is skillful at not getting caught. He/she can be quite brutal or ruthless, but only when no one is looking. He/she sees other people almost as inanimate objects, to be manipulated. Narcissists are upwardly mobile, as a group, and seldom end up in therapy. It is usually the co-worker, spouse, or other family member who ends up in therapy. One of the reasons that the narcissist seldom ends up in therapy is because he/she is skillful at manipulating others, skillful at getting his/her own way, and because he/she not feel remorse for the pain inflicted on others.

The narcissist normally comes from a narcissistic family. One telltale sign of a narcissistic family is one that is very permissive, and which feels that their son/daughter can do no wrong. Another telltale sign of a narcissistic family is a mother who collects a dossier on possible mates for her son/daughter, and finds that none of them are good enough.

Of course, the extreme form of narcissism is the sociopath. Psychologists used to call them psychopaths, but they now call them sociopaths, because there is no psychosis involved. These people are not “crazy,” in the clinical sense. They do not suffer delusions, and they are in complete control of their faculties. They are entirely "normal," except that they feel no remorse for the pain inflicted upon others.
