Just FYI

Just received a call from Fox and have a few things to nail down before their car arrives. Sorry, I'm going to have to beg off on that next post until tonight, or tomorrow AM.

First - this incident is a terrible tragedy, and neither I nor anyone else should get so caught up in the facts and the pursuit of them that we forget that most likely a precious human being has met with a tragic fate and been deprived of an entire future she will never know. Also, a family has been damaged by recent events in a manner from which they will never fully recover.

An entire community in Alabama, as well as some particular members have had both Natalee, as well as a certain sense of innocence taken from them through recent events.

And in Aruba, because I have spoken with some, I know they and a great many other people fret and hope, not first for tourism, but for Natalee Holloway and the best possible resolution of this case on behalf of Natalee and her family.

In fact, there are two if not more families in Aruba now suffering from this ordeal, as well. And even if justice does prove this or that family member somehow guilty, that should not condemn the whole, or diminish their right to respect and human kindness.

Aside from answers, which it is the natural human condition to desire, noone should seek anything more or less than the best possible resolution, as stated above.

6 years ago my younger brother who had never been in trouble with the law,had been in the same job as a Regional Mgr for over 10 years and had 2 beautiful daughters vividly learned his 2nd wife was having an affair when he caught them together. He shot the man (he lived, thank heavens,as I would not have wanted his wife and 5 young children to be without a father.)After he called 911 for the guy, my brother then took his wife and they rode around for about an hour, with a policeman behind them before my brother shot and killed his wife and shot himself in the head. Only, he didn't die.

Instead he was in a coma for several months,and regressed significantly in age when he did recover. As he was not competent, I was his guardian and pled him guilty sending him to prison for 25 yrs to life. I understood that while he was a good person who literally snapped, what he did was wrong, no one deserved to die in this manner. My mother never agreed with my decision to plead him guilty(a mother's love) and it has forever changed our relationship. My brother died 2 years later in prison from a lack of medical care in an unairconditioned prison in Mississippi when they quit giving him his seizure and other medication and fluid built up around his heart.

THE POINT of this post.....is to say that you never no what people are capable of until it happens. We had a nice normal, well thought of family like most of you. The local media coverage of my brothers case was extremely heavy for several months, but unfortunately rarely accurate in what they printed. I learned alot and for reasons related this this now look at the legal system (especially so called public defenders and many policeman) with much more open eyes, but admittedly with more disdain as well. You see my wife was a beautiful and attractive lady with long hair. Had she been otherwise, the media circus would have been very different I have no doubt.

There were many, many UNINTENTIONAL VICTIMS hurt by what my brother did. His children were hurt the most, but those that knew him through work and friendships as well as his wife's extended family were hurt. There were NO winners here.

Natalee's family and friends, Joran's family and the brothers family and friends have now all had their lives changed in ways they could never have previously imagined. There will be no good outcome here regardless of the physical outcome of the case. I know, I have been there.

So please...when being holier than thou and convicting before the proof convicts, take one second and realize that it could be your family member or friend in either of the positions of Natalee or Joran's family. Hopefully, it won't be..but it could be...

I never in my wildest dreams thought it would happen to us...That kind of thing only happened to others, those that were unstable, had a history of violence, etc... BOY, was I wrong!

If JVDS is so "innocent" why would he have had the attitude of arrogance and coldness expressed to Natalee's mom as stated directly by her. She was commenting on her first encounter with him.

This is when she is trying to find her missing daughter and if JVDS had "liked" Natalee so much he would have shown concern and empathy. He would have told the truth about all he knows to find Natalee. But it is clear he chooses to save his own soul now. However, on this course I believe he will loose it.

Malcom X seems to forget that blacks only make up 12% of the US population, therefore the interest in a white citzen is not suprisingly more popular and recieves higher ratings. Unfortunately, each race (black and white) cares more about it's own race than it's other fellow citzens of other races. It's just the way it is.
