Since my earlier post I have conducted another level of verification which could not possibly be manufactured to fool someone and pass off an imposter in this regard. I am certain what follows is an honest representation of an interview I conducted earlier tonight with a friend of Joran Van der Sloot and her family.
As I have maintained all along, I don't report here just to entertain with some preconceived notion of guilt or truth. I don't know everything about this young woman ... what I do know from speaking with her is that this is her truth.
She's obviously bright, articulate, attractive and concerned for a friend and a family. She remembers the family from days at the beach and the boy from there, too - as well as the nights they went "partying." Apparently many of the young people she knew went to Carlos and Charlies, because they thought "it was one of the most stable, or safest" clubs to attend in Aruba.
Me: How long did you know him?
Her: I don't know, 7, maybe 10 years. I knew the family. His Mother taught me in Art Class. I feel so bad for her, she is such a sweet lady.
Me: So, you knew her from school?
Her: And the beach, most I knew her and Joran, we would go to the beach together on Saturdays. They were a good family. People think they are rich. They are not rich. They work for everything they have.
Me: So, you knew his Father, too? What was he like?
Her: I knew him some. He was a very loving man. He loved his kids, always hugging and kissing them. That really bothers me about this because I know how much they love their children. She must be crazy over this, she's a nice woman and he really is a special man. He was one of the most giving men I've met when it comes to his family. But he usually didn't go to the beach with us. He was working.
Me: What did he do for a living, I've heard he's a judge.
Her: Yes, he judges, sometimes. But not always. I'm not sure what he did before. He traveled a lot, on business, I think.
Me: Well, this is hard to ask, but, your relationship with Joran, was it romantic? At all? Were you intimate?
Her: No. (laugh) No, it wasn't like that. We were friends. I was a few years older than him. And we were only friends, good friends.
Me: You went partying? I laughed. I wasn't an angel when I was a kid, I know how it is. I don't judge it. But what did you mean by "partying."
Her: Going out .. to clubs. Just ... partying.
Me: I understand. What kind of drugs did you guys do?
Her: No drugs. I didn't use drugs.
Me: I saw Joran's web site. There were a lot of pictures ... a lot of drinking. (laughing) What about Joran, what kind of drugs did he like?
Her: I never saw Joran use drugs. Ony drinking. If he did, I never saw it. I never saw him drunk.
Me: You never saw him drunk? I have a picture of him passed out, it looks like maybe from drinking.
Her: That could be, but I never saw that. He was very tall, a big boy. I saw him drink, maybe tipsy. Alcohol didn't seem to affect him too much.
Me: Well, there has been talk, reports. Supposedly he threw someone through a plate glass window.
Her: I never heard that. Not Joran, it couldn't be.
Me: But, it's said he has a temper ... that he needed anger management, or something.
Her: Anger management? (She nearly laughed.) He played tennis, he was a top player on the island and traveled off the island to play. Now, tennis ... (she is also a top tennis player) I'll tell you, competitve tennis, what can happen on the court, you lose, a bad call. I saw Joran play and he never lost his composure, always he was in control.
Me: What was he like when he lost?
Her: Down, mostly. He'd go off alone, off to the side, sit and pull his hat down over his head. He always blamed himself. "Why did I do that" "I could have done better" That was what he was like when he lost, he never got angry that I saw.
Me: Did he have a girlfriend?
Her: I know he had a girl friend in Ninth grade, now, I don't know. He liked girls, yes, I know. He liked to make out. He was good with the girls.
Me: Did you know the other boys, the brothers?
Her: No, not really. I might have seen them, out, sometimes with Joran, at the clubs. But I was never with them when they were together. I didn't really know them, no.
Me: So, tell me about his girlfriend.
Her: She was blond, blue eyes. The girl every one wanted in high school. But Joran got her. I remember that.
Me: Did it last long? The one in ninth grade?
Her: A while, Not too long, they broke up.
Me: They broke up? What happen?
Her: I don't know. I think she may have dropped him, for another boy.
Me: That must have hurt.
Her: Yes, he was very sad. I think he tried to get her back. But he accepted it, was sad for awhile and then moved on.
Me: He didn't get upset? Really?
Her: No. Not that I can recall. It was like the tennis. He seemed to blame himself. He kept to himself for a while, but he came out of it, then he was fine.
Me: You mean he didn't pursue her, the girl everyone wanted?
Her: Not really, I don't thnk so. Like I said, he tried to get her back, but he couldn't. So he moved on.
Me: So, what happened? Do you think Joran did this?
Her: Impossible. I mean, I wasn't there. To say impossible, I mean, could someone have a hidden side? I suppose. But, no, Joran couldn't do this. Joran couldn't hurt anything. He wasn't like that. These are good people, always polite and nice, very very nice people. People you like to be with.#
Coming away from speaking with her tonight I was left with the distinct impression that I had spoken with a person who seemed genuine and honest, as well as candid. She's well-educated, accomplished and I was able to verify those facts independant of any means she could control. I doubt she was even aware I would conduct certain research to validate her identity (h/t to a friend). While the only eyes of hers I have looked into are in a picture, one I found, not one she provided, I cannot think of a single reason why such a nice young woman would lie.
Lastly, when I read her the two late night emails I received just hours before Joran Van der Sloot's arrest, she said, "That's Joran."

I have a problem with so many people having so much against Joran Van der Sloot. He can't help who his daddy is. It seems to me that possibly jealous people are out to get him because of things uncontrollable to him. He is attractive and seems to be popular. Maybe he does use his dad’s position to get away with things, but I don’t know many teenagers (with or without influential parents) who can’t get away with drinking, driving, and getting into clubs underage. It seems to me like they are heavily insinuating Van der Sloot’s involvement and letting the brothers slide. I realize the other two guys are not as attractive as Van der Sloot, but they are suspects too. Why aren’t people saying things about them? Why aren’t they searching their houses? Why are their cars not being impounded? Whatever happened these 3 guys have met and talked about it, at least to get their original story straight. So that tells me that if one of the 3 is involved in Natalee’s disappearance, regardless of what ultimately happened, the other 2 will at least be held liable as accomplices. Until definite evidence pointing towards only one of the 3 is found, all suspects should be treated the same. I would think that out of the 3 guys the brothers would stick together and could possibly even have planned to change their story so that it would seem like Van der Sloot was guilty one. I know they are friends, but people change when it comes to covering themselves.
I know Natalee’s step-dad met Van der Sloot and said he came off as cold and arrogant. The two are from different countries and cultures so there is a chance that what might have come off as cold and arrogant to someone from Alabama might not be the same to someone from Aruba.

Suggest that any of you who haven't looked at the web sites posted under the "Two Unconfirmed Reports" page, do so. Legal drinking age is lower in Aruba than in the U.S., but that doesn't mean the kids can handle it. Tons of the pictures out there of Joran and his friends show them with drinks in their hands, and or plastered. (Just like most kids in the U.S. if they're given half a chance.)
Regarding the interview. Hey, at least Dan found this young lady, and made the effort to get an interview. She's just a kid, and has her point of reference regarding Joran. It never hurts to hear another point of view. Sometimes you can pick up on things the speaker doesn't even realize they've eluded to.
FoxNews Online is still saying the Aruban authorities will only identify the fourth person arrested as "S.G.C." I would be willing to bet he'll turn out to be one of the guys photo'd with Joran during the young lady's 15th birthday party bash referred to on the other page referenced above. There were two guys who appeared to be about 26 or so in the various photos, and both of them reminded me of gangsters in their choice of attire.
Something else that bothers me about 90% of the pictures of Joran and his friends, including the Kalpoe brothers. They are all flashing what appears to be a gang hand sign. If they're actually members, and not just "posers", it could add an additional element in the mix.
I still think Natalie's alive, but I do think time's running out.

It really troubles me that all the tickle.com websites from the teens in Aruba are full of alcohol and speak of wild parties. The favorite movies and music is pretty dark sided and there is nothing for teenagers to do in Aruba but swim and drink. Kids looking for action and in over their heads. I tend to believe that she probably was drugged but since she had such a low alcohol tolerance and no history of drug use, it was probably way to much for her small body to handle. If she died, I think it was unintentional but now the cover up is what is driving everyone nuts. Someone is not telling the truth because the stories are opposites. Perhaps the fear of going to prison or worse would give anyone the stamina to hold out. Prisons in other countries are not as comfy as they are in America. Manslaughter is not Murder. Most probable senerio to me.

I was just wondering why no one has mentioned the fact that the drinking age in Aruba is 18. If Joran is only 17 what was he doing in the bar Carlos N Charlie's anyway? Shouldn't they be asked this question? Or was it that he was a local rich kid that was a "regular"?..

The USA is not only 20 miles long and 6 miles wide. Of course there are more killings in the USA. There are simple statistical equations to calculate that! One bad apple in AG prison ordered the others to carry on heinous acts on a few POW's, however, they did not kill them! How about the terrorists beheading Americans on the internet and TV for all to see? Which is worse, know-it-all Alaina? OBL has people hiding him and he travels all the time to different countries. We would have to have 20 soldiers every 100 square feet in every Arab country to find him. Weapons of mass destruction were moved to other neighboring countries when we told Iraq we would invade if they didn't give them up. They had months to do this. Pretty sure they were moved to Syria in the beginning. Now they are spread all over Arab countries. OJ Simpson is guilty of a double homocide. His lies and changing stories prove he has something to hide. Why did all 3 try to say that the security guard was the last to see Natalee? Because they were trying to pin this disappearance on an innocent person. The video cameras debunked their story. Then, they declared that story was a lie. Then, the Kalpoe brothers and Joran blamed each other for seeing her last. Then, someone must have debunked that story, proving Joran had seen her last in the early morning of May 30. Then Joran admits that he did spend time on the beach with her early that morning. He also claimed to have just left her there. Then, when asked who picked him up after leaving Natalee on the beach, he said Deepak. Deepak said he didn't pick him up. Then, he said, "No, Deepak's brother picked me up." Joran is such a liar. He keeps changing his story. If he did nothing wrong, he would not lie and he would be out of jail by now. HE EITHER ACCIDENTLY KILLED HER WITH DRUGS HE PUT IN HER DRINK AT THE BAR OR HIS RED HOT TEMPER GOT OUT OF HAND AGAIN WHEN SHE TURNED HIM DOWN FOR SEX AND HE KILLED HER. He had no idea that Natalee's family and the press would be all over this and they will not stop until the truth is found. When that happens, say "goodbye" to Joran because he is going away for a long time.

Well, Joran is dutch and, being dutch, i can tell you that dutch can come across as cold or arrogant, especially compared to americans, but that doesn't make us bad people. e.g. we don't really touch eachother or hug like americans seem to do, so what? We can be more cold or rigid, especially in uncomfortable situations, and you know Jordan meeting Natalee's stepdad must have been uncomfertable for both of them.
Also, in the netherlands it's really common for teens to go out and party and drink. People don't really look at it as "bad behaviour", I guess that too is a cultural diffence between americans and dutch.
One more thing i'd like to add: I noticed that some people think Joran's parents are strange for hiding in their house or runnung from the press, but remember they're not used to this at all. In the netherlands it's very uncommon to see familymembers on tv or talking to the press. This might be normal for americans, but definitely not for the dutch.
Anyway, I hope Natalee will be found soon (alive!) Don't know what to make of dad being arrested though.

Firstly, how do you know Natalee has been murdered?? Is that an educated guess, or has that been proven already??
Second of all, you yourself have admitted in your own words that your justice system sucks. That is what I was trying to point out. Don't judge how the Arubans are conducting the investigations and critize them. Its disgusting all this talk about banning Aruba etc.
I am not Aruban and I am just so pissed of at the awful things that people are saying about this boy and the family before it can be proved he did do it. If he did, I am sure the Arubans will be the first to punish him.
"One bad apple" you say about the treatment of the POWs in Iraq. Doesn't that apply in Aruba too. And for your information, that lady got away with being the "bad apple" didn't she?? Why is the whole country being judged and critized for what Joran and his friends may or may not have done.
Also what you said about OJ's civil suit. This only further proves that if you have money, you can buy your freedom, even if you are guilty!! This happened in America and not in Aruba. So stop saying things like "he is going to get away with it because his father is a judge" If that is true, how come his father has been arrested as well.
Your justice system is not perfect, so stop critizing others. You get your head out of your arse and look around you. If the whole world decides to go against America, you will not last either. And talking the way you people are, soon you won't have any allies. Haven't you learnt anything from what happened in Vietnam. You are not indispensable. No one, or no country is!! We need allies and we need friends. All you people do is critize the rest of the world. Do you ever wonder why Americans are hated?? It is the arrogance and know all attitude when you really don't know "jack shit"!!
The only reason why Joran is getting all this sympathy is because of all this bullshit talk by Americans!!
I doubt Natalee doesn't have skeletons in the closet!! You can believe what you want, from what I have heard, she has run away twice before when she was in Puerto Rico and Bahamas and how come her friends were not worried enough to inform anyone when she didn't turn up that night. Is it because Natalee does this as a course of habit and no one thought to notify anyone about it because they know what sort of person she is??

Alaina, you are by far a person without a clue. The American justice system is almost a direct clone of the UK system, with the exception that the defendants are considered innocent instead of guilty as your system does. Thus in stating what you did, you bring out all the fine justice in the UK. Do you think before you post? Or just post without a clue? Ooops, sorry, moot point.
You also seem to have a major problem with people pointing out your flaws, yet resort to cussing and dissing anyone pointing this fact out. Lamer comes to mind here.

So, get MY head out of my arse? LOL, seems you need a clue first on how to get yours out. Get a life Alaina, it's evident you have little to none with your diatribe. You also show little to low intelligence with any of your arguments so far. You want to use lots of outside little bits of information to try to prove you point. Shows how low that intelligence factor is, doesn't it? Do you feel better when you vent? Or are you more upset after you post? You just might be able to get help about that if you can wait for an appointment in that free medical care society you live in. But wait, it takes so long before help is available, so maybe not this year, possibly not next.
Back to the original subject here, Natalee. Try to get over your anger management problem Alaina, it's just too evident. Also, it's much better to really get a clue about the real information instead of "we" searching for something bad about someone you just can't get over. Is it because Joran is the pretty boy? Don't mean to touch a nerve here, but I doubt you will find anyone close to his level. Too much rabid foolishness from you.

The US has a valid health system also, but much much quicker than the Brits have. Poor people cannot be refused access to this health system. Medicare takes care of those. Perfect health system in England? Must not included dentists, since this is a worldwide observation about Brits.

I am a mother, from the American south. I SMELL something in this situation and it makes me ashamed as an American. The parents of Miss Holloway are getting pretty tiresome with their non-stop accusations against Joran and his family. It was interesting to me that his family welcomed those parents into their house then the Holloway-Twittys proceeded to slam and attack them before every camera and mic they could encounter. No manners I would say.
The van der Sloots are unfortunate in having their son identified as the last to see Natalee. Since when was THAT a crime? The van der Sloots are held in contempt for telling their son not to speak yet every talking head on TV has, for years, bellowed that no lawyer wants his client to talk at random. Not one of those hosts or guests have spoken up to defend Joran's father. I ask you, if Greta or Geraldo or Dan or Bill or Nancy had a child under suspicion by the WORLD would they want that child speaking freely to a hostile press? I think not.
It was just a while ago that another blameless southern "girl" went missing days before her wedding. The entire country went on alert imagining the horrors that had surely befallen her. We know that woman now as "The Runaway Bride" who turned out not to be so innocent after all.
Just how much do we REALLY know about Natalee?
Don't you think we should be trying to find out some things before we lynch Joran?

There are no evidence of such videos and unless you have seen it you should stop believing all gossip on the net. I suppose you will say you have seen it just to win an argument.
Also, I am not making it up. Statics show that less than 50% of Americans own a passport and have never travelled out of America to anywhere leave alone to Europe.

There is defenatly more than we know, this boy did have help from someone "father" to do what he did with Nathaly. He did something what we do not know. If he did throw her in the see we will never find the body the waters there are cruel and the sharks will eat everything that is in the way. I'm from the carribbean islands I did lost friends at see and never recouparate there body's, and that while searches started same day for them. Something else the police there are not hard enough with enterogation, a 17year old boy and they can not get the truth out of him? He is already instructed by his dad what to do, sit still with the story that you don't know where she is and they will have to let you go. I understand that there is nothing that we here in USA can do other than waiting but we will never know what happen with Nathaly, because it has been now more than 6 weeks and that body is not on the island, it's a small island with every one looking she has not been found, so for me she has been left at see with a weight to keep her at the bottom of the see. I sorry for the parents because without a body there will be no closure. aND i HOPE THAT WHO ever is involved in this with Joran will be haunted for life, that bad spirits will drive them crazy.

I thought she did not add much of anything, not many specifics at all, in her answers. I have the over-all impression she does not know Joran that well at all, if at all The questions that you asked we too puff for me. You should have asked her why she thinks Joran lied to Natalie by telling her he was a Dutch student on vacation in Aruba? Also why did you not ask her why she thought he has lied so much by changing his story about 15 times now? Also should have asked her if Joran is arrogant? Not a good interview at all, way to easy and puff questions in my view, and a good opportunity has slipped past you. I think you were to worried about upsetting her than concerned about asking hard tough question, and getting at the truth! Also again with not much specifics in her answers I question if she knows Joran at all.
For those of you who are not convinced yet of Joran's guilt, then why would he lie and change his story 15 times now if he is innocent and had nothing to hide?
Does anyone know about, or has read, the published confession in the Aruban newspaper published on, or about, June 14, 2005?

Has anyone looked at the simple psychology of a guilty mind? The guilty one always holds back information, because he/she is in defense mode, usually before they are even suspected. IF Joran was innocent, then upon hearing about NH’s disappearance, he would know that he last saw her on a beach, and when. So he would have said, “hey everyone, start looking here! I am innocent, but I want to help find her. Look for clues here! (Footprints, used condom, whatever)”
But of course, he never volunteered to help, and it was only after witnesses ID’d him and the brothers that he started to give any info, and it was still mostly or all a lie. His dad reportedly was a sponge of sweat during his interragation, which is a sign of intense emotion, or a guilt reflex. Didn’t even need a polygraph on dad, he was sweating like a cold beer in hell.
Also,
no one has said much about NH, other than she was an angel. In this country (USA), she could have been thrown in jail for having sexual relations with a minor. That alone should tell you something. Angel my donkey! I saw her prom picture taken with rich boy with a brand new convertible Corvette. Tell me she wasn’t attracted to young boys with money and connections.
Consider for a moment though, girl under pressure to go to med school, just graduates, just realizes there is a world out there. 2 or so hours before flying home to the stresses. Maybe she just walked away? If so, she may have gotten in trouble later. I might believe this, but the boys were lying and laying case to a crime.

Excusme,every body it's seems like the media & most of the people who has folowed this case by the media has made their opinion on the case & what has happened to Nathaly. In any case I'm a proud Arubian, the truth is that we had never had such a dificult case. Since day 1 of the their been FBI agents, Arubian & Dutch inteligents on this case. how our system works is like this, they do not leak any information untill the case goes to court, so what is been said on the news about inside infromations I truly doubt that you haven't heard nearly a part of what mabe has happend, There is an Texas search team here for more than a month all ready they checked Joran home & Vehicles, the Kalpoe's home & vehicle there records this invesigation has brought on of the biggest inteligents crew together ever for one missing person & you still are saying BS on how Aruba is handling this case, please people if you do not know how our system works do not dudge us, they case is under investigation in Aruba you can go to jail for 116 days just for investigation only, they are holding Joran v/d S. because he was last seen with her & for his chaning testimony, there is no other proof or Evidence up untill now. I'm not trying to defend him I'm just not judging him yet! These guys go through hell during the investigation & I know that for a fact & I know that do put their hands on them, alot of insults towards you & your family the first 10 days they stay in a 2x2 meter concret cell with no windows iron door with some bars so you can get some air, just imagen the heat, they put words in your mouth (tacktics) to make you talk.How I know this because they did it to on of my family member. He was inocent no proof no hard evidence just for suspition, he borrowed his fishing boat to some friend the police locked them up for suspishon of trafication there was no drugs in the boat nor on them(on the friends) just some trace on the drug strip tester, my family member was working on his job he received a call that someting was going on with his boat, when he arrived he was also locked up for being the owner of the boat, to make a long story short is been 67 days still no more added evidence & they are still in jail under investigation, and our law says they can stay in jail just for infestigation up untill they complete the 116 days just based on the trace of the drug & my family member in being held as the owner responsable for the boat.
My point is our case is not even close to the Nathaly Holloway case, and these guys are going through hell, imagen Joran? Visisting day I do see Joran, his parents are heart broken & imotional, The visiting is only 50 min. so I know that what they are saying that he gets long visiting hours is a lie, He gets the same visiting hour as we do in room full of other people & guards all around you.
I'm not trying to defend Joran! I do not know Joran ! Seeing him I can not imagen him doing a crime that he looks like a big baby face jong boy who misses his family which you can see they are a loving family! Just wait before you can make any judgements.
I wonder why the shaperoons left Aruba leaving 1 behind, what responsibility are they taking on this matter!!!!
Just keep an open mind before making any judgement, in this life you never know what lays ahead.
If Joran is quilty he should be locked up for a long time, but if he's inocent his life has been stained for the rest of his life.............
