MbMom,
How could we put more pressure on Arubia to allow greater FBI participation?

We could remind them that they have created the The International Court of Justice (known colloquially as the World Court or ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands...

We can appeal to the Dutch Monarch:

Akeokoa,
Interesting thought! I wonder if we have anyone oconnected to Dutch Monarch here in Mt. Brook.
I know we do to English Royalty...
Even to have a Dutch connection within the US
would be helpful. Your right, I think we do
need to go to the top of the ladder in this case.
Is there an email address or a telephone number for Queen Beatrix? Who would be her US connections?

Akeokoa,
Would you be so kind as to email that suggestion to FOX news? I would bet Bill Oreilly, Gretta,
Geraldo, or Sean Hannity would be more than happy
to get in touch with the Royal Monarchy in reference to Aruba's poor handling of Natalee's
disappearance. That would make a splash of a twist to this mystery. Dan Riehl might even be willing to meet with the Queen. There are many royal watchers...Dan would certainly get Fox News attention with this one!

I have to go to bed now..the sun will be up soon
and then I won't get any sleep.
It is almost as if my own daughter is Natalee and she is missing...makes me want to turn the porch light on....and to leave it on until she comes home...many sleepless nights are going on here in Mt. Brook over Natalee...we just have to keep searching until we find her...we love Natalee!
I drove by Natalee's house last week and all of the house lights were on...too as if they were waiting for her to come home. She has a brother
that is 15 and going into the 10th grade...
he is helping man the house while his parents
are searching for Natalee.

The monarch in The Netherlands cannot interfere with the politics of her country, so trying to contact her will be useless. Here's a website on the Dutch royal house: www.koninklijkhuis.nl Another thing, Yes Aruba is part of the Netherlands but that doesn't mean that they are completely dependent; The netherlands is responsible for Aruba's foreign affairs and maybe some other things but the governement of Aruba s pretty independent, I doubt the Duth will interfere.
Publius, I feel sorry for you. Have you ever been to Aruba, have you ever been to the Netherlands, ever been to europe? Ever left your house? This world has a lot of great people in it, and I have travelled Europe, the US, South America and Africa. I met a lot of people and have spoken to them. there are different ways of life, different law systems and eventually all of them serve one purpose: finding the truth. Don't judge the different methodes, don't do it just out of ignorance. When I was in the US I saw what I call "hidden poverty" and recently read on the net that 36 milion Amercans suffer from undernourishment...It hanged my vision on the US being the Promised Land. We all can do better in our own countries, let's do so before we judge others.

But what if the Queen were to appeal to the Island she protects? Or what if she appeals to the Van der Sloots and Kalpoes?
Would that have some impact to stir compassion?

Mt. Brook Mom,
Natalee disappeared in the first place, because she travelled to Aruba with 130+ absent-minded friends and colleagues from Alabama.
No one from down there has yet given an explaination of how they intended to keep each other safe on the trip.
Posted by: Man Fraid | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 08:20 AM
Man Fraid... I thought Aruba was supposed to be an island paradise and apparently a very safe place. My guess is that the 130+ people she travelled with to Aruba didn't focus on trying to "keep each other safe on the trip", because they didn't think they had to. ::sigh::
Posted by: Lou | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 09:19 AM
Man Fraid - By "down here" are you referring to Aruba? You all are really quite conflicting. First fo all, you get really riled up if anyone so much as hints that your island may not be the "safe" paradise that it claims to be. Now you are wondering how the group intended to "keep each other SAFE on the trip." According to you all, safe from what? After all, your island is perfectly safe. Make up your minds. Either it's safe or it isn't. Oops! I guess you don't have to make up your minds, it's been made up for you and for us. Two missing people (probable murders) and one horrible murder(decapitation) in under three weeks. I was just in Manhattan for 10 days, one murder, drug related, in that time. Add to the three probable murders in Aruba, what to the International Community appears to be favoritism and cover-up (to all but the most naive) on the part of the Aruban police and government officials, it really looks like a "safe" place.

Students go on graduation trips all across the US, and none of them are chaperoned! Before Natalee's disappearance, I would have considered Aruba safer and healthier for a grad trip than most of the Florida locations. Visit a Florida beach resort at the first of June and see what I mean. Or talk to the hotel manager about what goes on. Do not blame the chaperones! They were never intended to babysit the 18 year old adults they accompanied.
For those of you who do not understand Dutch/Aruban legal system, educate yourself.
There is no plea bargaining.
There is no jury, only the judge.
Not only would the lie detector results be inadmissible, so would all "fruits of the forbidden tree."
The judge would have to throw the case out if the authorities leaked any information to the public about the investigation.
Consider this: this blog and Scared Monkeys seem to have become investigative tools! I am so proud of all of you who have done the searches and found information that may help find Natalee.
Keep up the good work!

There are some good HS Grad Trip organizers out there. My 18 yr old daughter is in Cancun as we speek with about 150 other HS grads. Often, organizers will sell wrist bands for unlimited drinking at local establishments, for a certain amount of hours. The trip organizer Grad City does not do that for HS trips.
Yes, chaperones are not there to baby sit, but they are there to observe and intervene if they believe it is necessary. They also go with the groups when they go out at nite to the clubs, again to observe. The trip my daughter is on, has 38 chaperones, and hopefully everyone has a good time, responsibly.
I did have second thoughts becuase of Natalee. Did have a long talk with the kids in her room before they left, talking about Natalee and about another mothers tale from Cancun last year. Hopefully I prepared the kids for what they will see and be able to do. We will see when they return next week.
Dan, keep up the great work.

talking about stupidity...don't make us Dutch people look like fools will ya?
check this out: want to buy a yacht?
The Tattoo boat is on now:
-------------------------
Hey people, the Tattoo boat is now officially for sale here:

Do they want to bury the evidence? Or do they think they will go bankrupt now?
I wonder!
Posted by: Buy a Yacht | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 09:56 AM
Whoever owns the party boat will make a fortune if Natalee is found alive and returned to her parents. All of Aruba would be heroes and many people would vacation in Aruba if she were found alive. So many people in Aruba would profit from it.
The fact that it is "for sale" is foreboding.

Marshall- that's what I am wondering...I haven't heard anything. Seems like that news died- sounded pretty big to me.
Wish they would at least tell us if they are following them still or if it wasn't linked to the case.

Single Mom of 2 Girls here living on Aruba, never had to lock my House or Car here, no need... traveled the world and never felt safer then here...
The disapearence of Natalee makes many of us living here unbelievable mad and helpless.. regardless what nationalty or race.. Aruba managed to live in harmony in a culture mix with people from 42 diffrent nations on this small island.. we all are shocked and can not believe what happend here..
The way they are treating the 3 suspects here, combined with their age, etc. They should have cracked by now, unless:
1. They are innocent
2. They are guilty, but have been coached well...(afterall there is NO body....)
3. They are very affraid of someone (not the law)
witch one ...?
Posted by: tina | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 10:36 AM
I think they are very afraid of someone. I believe that they know something and perhaps got into trouble with the wrong group of people- perhaps with gambling....

coming up- live report in Aruba on Fox
Posted by: Allison | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 10:48 AM
Tina,
I think that you are outside the "circle of business" that is being exposed here. What is unfortunate for you, is that the fall out will be extreme financially for your way of life on the island. These men are not innocent, they are just not alone and fear for thier lives. They are "wannabe gangsta's" that got invovled with the real ones and now it is about survival for them all. Just my opinion, but I don't think the Aruban Police are as dumb as they seem to be.
Posted by: Marshall | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 10:48 AM
you all are wondering what is going on here so are we, it is very quit here, to quit
Posted by: glenda | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 10:49 AM
Saying authorities are not giving any info about the questioning of the Father. Said when he was released he ran to his car avoiding the reporters.
That's all....
Posted by: Allison | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 10:52 AM
Hi Tina,
I think we should rule out option 1.
If these 3 guys are innocent they wouldn’t start telling lies to the police and stating that they left Natalee in front of the Holiday Inn Hotel.

Sorry to go off topic~~~~ but does anyone know the correctname and spelling of the man murdered yesterday in Aruba? Thx

Why Hyro, have you found a body
Posted by: huggybear | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 11:05 AM
From the Geiss article
"On Day 5, police arrested two security guards, leaving the family perplexed as to why the investigation had not yet led to the persons last seen with Natalee: Joran Van Der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers. From all accounts, the three have bad reputations. Joran Van Der Sloot is a son of privilege; his father has been appointed to a judgeship on the island and rumors swirled that he was using his influence to impede the investigation. There were varying descriptions of Joran, ranging from model student athlete to casino playboy (he met Natalee in a casino). He is tall, handsome, and looks older than his age. His friends, Satish and Deepak, also sons of wealth and privilege, were described to me by a local islander "as bad men who mistreat women." One scenario has the trio involved in a seedy scam that involves meeting attractive female tourists, learning the date of their departure, and taking advantage of them on their final night in town.
The family was informed, however, that paying $1,000 to a certain official might make him work harder to find Natalee. Friends of the family concluded about that official that "no sum of money could make him smart enough to help us." Finally, a team of FBI agents arrived in Aruba. Island police arrested the three boys last seen with Natalee, but offered no information about their investigation. Despite their frustration, the family maintained a positive spin for the media, saying "they are pleased with the process." Behind the scenes, that was hardly the case."

Hey Hyro, although I do not know if she does or not, when you find out just remember that is she does there's a good possibility that her mother may not know about it....she may have gotten it on the trip to aruba. Why do you ask do you think you spotted her?
Posted by: nan | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 11:07 AM
Hey hyro do you own aruba aviation? Did Steve Croes work for you? I remember reading that he may have had a piolet license. I see that the yahoo page in the photo section of arubaaviation is registered to you last name starting with an "O".
Posted by: nan | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 11:11 AM
Hi Glenda,
Being afraid is option 3 of the ones given by Tina, and therefore they are not innocent (option 1).
These 3 guys are the last ones to see Natalee as far as we know. I don’t buy the story of the guys being afraid, specially if Aruba is such a “safer” place as already described (isn't that a contradiction). So, that leaves us only with option 2: These guys (or at least one of them) are guilty…
The question now is: guilty of what? I hope we find the answers sooner than later.
Posted by: george | Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 11:15 AM
