Disturbing Developments in Natalee Holloway Disappearance

Update: Arrests made in case.

With the Natalee Holloway investigation focusing on three men, one the son of a judge and all said to be popular on the small island, authorities are speaking with an ominous tone of mystery regarding the Alabama senior and honor student's disappearance.

An additional ten FBI agents are on in Aruba, bringing the total to thirteen. The additional resources were apparently requested as a result of some unknown circumstances in the case.

U.S. Rep. Spencer Bachus, R-Vestavia Hills, said Saturday there were circumstances surrounding Holloway's disappearance that warranted the FBI being heavily involved. He declined to give details.

"The circumstances were disturbing," said Bachus, who formally requested the FBI's involvement. "I can't get into it, but it's something the family is aware of. There was an immediate recognition that this was not simply a teen who wandered off."

Authorities are also hinting at a quick resolution of the case, but offering few details.

"I want everybody to hold their breaths for the next 24 hours," Dompig said Saturday. "There will be developments after this weekend."

In what could be a tragic irony, in the Mountain Brook yearbook, Holloway's senior quote came from the old Lynyrd Skynyrd song "Freebird." It says:

"If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on now, there's too many places I haven't seen."

The 3 young men are protecting themselves. At some point the authorities are going to have to offer 1 of them a deal to get at what really happened. The family needs it, and Aruba needs it.

Please, get it straight for once. The father of Johan is NOT a judge in Aruba. He is a government clerk working with the GEA (Courtroom) and is studying right now to become a judge.

In Aruba is a clear separation of authority. We can be sure that the Dad cannot influence any investigation or police's decisions. Secondly the local authorities are being assisted by FBI and Dutch investigators.

Natalee was completely packed and ready to go home. This is an indication that she certainly did intend to leave with her friends and adult chaperones but for now, this is a "missing person" case and until more evidence is found to the contrary, that's all it is. We are all touched by these kinds of events because they imply a loss of innocence for our most vulnerable....our children. There is a family in great pain and a world that has poured out it's heart hoping for the best and fearing the worst these past weeks. Please stop preaching your ugly world views of politics and racial hatred and remember that this could be you or someone you love. They kissed in the car, maybe she even made out with the boy, maybe even with all three of them, maybe even at the same time... doesn't matter,
and then they dropped her off at the hotel and left.
And at that moment, she decided to go for a midnight swim.
So she did, and most people when drunk are very poor swimmers.
And what if she simply drowned - you know, if one drowns in the ocean, the chances of finding the body are very slim.
Without the body, convicting the boys will be hard but they'll do it anyway because of the international pressure and that would be it.

Being born and raised in aruba, and seeing all the coments that were send, about the case of Nathalee Holloway, let me begin by saying how deeply sorry i am of all this, and my prayers goes to her, all her family, relatives, friends and comunity. I can only imagen how tough it must be not knowing anything for what may had happened.
It not only shocked the US. but also my community. I can understand all the things that should be going to people's mind aftger hearing such a shocking news, but like you can see when we were named one of the safest tourist destinations in the caribean that didnt mean nothing can happen, cause even paradise there can always be trouble, be save doesnt matter where you go, i don't blame anyone for this only those that did this ofcourse. Everyone is searching, aruban autorities, FBI, the military, and also the people cause even though is difficult to imagen for those who have never been to Aruba, we love our visitors, and it saddens us when something happens to them, which is usually not the case. And about the news of racial discrimination in aruba, pls lets not get over the top here,...we are not a white or black community we are a mixture of all skin colours, race, religion and nationality. I cannot believe that once again the Americans are coming off with their usually condesending ways. I am British (not proud of it I may add thats why I like to call myself a person of the world) and have visied Aruba on many ocasions and LOVE IT!!!! I have several points to make. First, and most importantly (although apparently not to many people posting on this site...) this poor girl has disappeared and we should all hope for her safe return. Yes, she made some bad decisions, but ultimately no one can say that she deserved this. It could happen to any one of us, a wrong turn at the wrong time with the wrong people. I must say first of all that anyone who would bring this upon another human being deserves to fry for it. Secondly, It would be a lot easier to feel sorry for Miss Holloway if she wasn't so damned stupid. I am so sick of hearing everyone rave and rave about how smart she was. She had money. Her parents sent her to Mountain Brook High. That's where the $$$ is around Birmingham. That's why she got a full scholarship to UA.

Now, I'm an Auburn University (BCE 2003) graduate and a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (MSCE 2004) and am working on my PhD at Vanderbilt. I don't have a lot of respect for the academic programs at UA. In my field (engineering) I think that they are one of the weakest schools in America. The only decent graduates that UA turns out are trial lawyers- and with their sene of ethics I'm not impressed. Bottom line- Miss Holloway is RICH. Her race doesn't matter. She's not black or white. She's GREEN. GREEN is the only color that really matters in America. This chick is more RICH than intelligent. Her good grades and scholarship simply do not mean that she has my intellectual reapect. She earns my intellectual respect on the basis of her doing and saying intelligent things- not by behiving like an idiot in Aruba and most likely getting her stupid ass killed.

And her parents are the REALLY stupid screwups. Any parent with one eye and half sense knows that eighteen year olds should not be going outside the US without appropriate supervision just to party. And what is even worse is that these people didn't know how important it is to teach your kids to stay out of trouble. The complete and total lack of care is evident in her behavior.

For some reason we think that the rich people in this country got their money by being smart, hardworking, good people. We seem to think that they make the best parents. We are shocked and outraged whenever things like this happen to them. Well here's the simple truth. Many people in this country with money didn't get it by being smart, honest, ethical, hardworking people. Case in point- Dick Cheney, the SOB who runs this corrupt operation called Halliburton or the Bushies with the Carlyle Group. (Bush Sr. and the Bin Laden family in the same room an hour before the towers come down- NICE). It is obvoius from this whole episode that money didn't make Mr. or Mrs. Holloway good parents. They really failed Natalee.

But by this time we should realize that Natalee was no real angel. Forget about her being the type to always call if she was going to be late to Bible study. This chick had no real spirituality. She was too blinded with money and superficial things (kind of happens to rich b****es). She chose to blow a lot of money on a really expensive trip to Aruba with a lot of her "friends" who didn't give a s*** about where she was or what she was doing. She was neglected by her parents who only really cared about money. Natalee was going to be a completely rebellious party chick if she had gone to Bama. Frat boys love chicks like her. I've seen the pattern over and over at Auburn, Berkeley, and Vandy. If she is still alive, I hope she outgrows this phase and quickly. Most American women are like that, and they are not worth having as marital partners.

I only hope that her parents can find some type of real spiritual life in the middle of all of this. The loss of a daughter is a horrible thing to deal with. They didn't really know what they had until she was gone. Maybe they will realize that the things that they need the most are not the things that you have to pay large sums of money for.

I think that this whole incident is a glaring example of what is wrong with America. I hate that this happened, and certainly nobody deserves this, but I just think that this was a classic example of mass stupidity- on the part of the hundred plus really, really rich people involved with this fiasco. And yes, some of America's richest are also the dumbest. And it really speaks well of UA when this is the kind of person that they would give a free ride. HEE HAW! ROLL TIDE ROLL! I have traveled all around the world and have made the recent decision not to leave the US again for a while. Think about it, we have beaches in the virgin islands, mountains to go skiing, the big apple. everytime I go somewhere we are always disappointed by the people, geography and the trip.

Remember people in poverty nations are dirty and sleazy. I guess desperate is a better word. You have to remember that above all else. We have places like that in America as well, places you try to avoid or make a mental change in attitude when you have to go there. Why would you want to vacation in a place where you have to pay attention to these sort of issues.

Now that I am older and expecting kids I will no longer take those risks. I have been to some pretty sleazy places, hung with some pretty sleazy crowds, just for the experience. Looking back my parents would have killed me.

I remember being in a just a dirty ass bar with one of my buddies in Playa, we wanted to get away from the tourist sites. I took 50 bucks and nothing else. we were drinking and speaking with some locals. I got hammered drinking tequilla and one of the guys asked for my wallet, I told him all I had was cash. He started laughing and asked how anyone would know how to identify me if something happend. Sobered up pretty damn fast.

another sad story. I was in Neuvo Laredo about 5 years ago. If you are not familiar it is a border town outside Texas. Great quality place, donkey shows and everything. Walked into a bar, respectable place actuall filmed that movie desperado thier. Place was packed with minors. 14 year old american girls, dancing, drinking, having a ball. I assume went behing thier parents back, snuck across the border for a night of fun.

Now in Neuvo Laredo or Juarez they will not go thru this much trouble as these aruban kids. They simply drive you about 1 mile outside the city and bury you in a shallow grave.

It's a tricky situation when you know someone know's something and they are too busy protecting themselves to give the information up. Same thing happened with the Bernardo case, until they offered a deal. The real information does eventually get out but bye then it's too late to do anything.

In this case, I fear Natalle may be dead, and the only way to find out what happened to her and what the real story is, is to put pressure on the kids in custody and offer them deals to rat on thier evil counterparts.

If the boy's are innocent, why are their stories changing so drastically? They are going to tell the truth. I can't believe that anyone would even think to make this a RACE issue. There is a young, vulnerable woman out there who is either dead or alive...tragically. I believe that she is getting so much attention due to this happening on foreign soil for one. I as a proud aruban have been living here for 18 years, and I have been going out for about 4 years.. yeah 4 years... I started hanging around the clubs since I was 14, and never I have seen somebody get stabbed or somebody gets shot. I love my island and I know that most of the teens and adults here are not capable of doing such a thing to Natalee Holloway, All I want to say that the people in Alabama are such A holes.. I mean why would somebody boycott an island that has only 1 murder a year compared to Alabama's proximately 400 murders a year?!!!!

The case of Natalee was 100% being at the wrong place at the wrong time.. I bet you she is not even dead, she's probably running away because her parents are so strict and sooo overprotective, and she might have found somebody nice and ran away with him.. maybe she was also kidnapped because his father works in a very high position for the government.. how about that fact? .. Did you know that Natalee's mom came to aruba with FBI ONE day after natalee was lost.. I mean she had to have everything planned already.. She knew that this was going to happen to Natalee one day.. Natalee has known Joran Van Der Sloot almost three days before she dissapeared they've talked and hung around with each other by the hotel area of Holiday Inn (which was clearly stated by one of Natalee's classmate).. I've known Joran for 5 years now I'm forced to know everybody in my class because my school is such a small community and I only have 9 students in my senior class.. which includes joran in it.. He is a very easy going guy, I have never seen him hit a girl or fight with someone in all the 5 years I've been with him.. I am 100% confident that Joran is not capable of doing such a thing.. just like Natalee's mom is 100% that her daughter is an angel, and she will never get drunk/go out with strangers (Which I have seen her myself Friday and thursday night in carlos & Charlies 3 days before she dissapeared with her whole 130 classmates all fcuking wasted and fcuking drunks! dancing with locals, and grinding on stage with locals and friends (The media only show things that are positive for this girl and negative for aruba, there's are things that you've never heard before)) I mean what could be the chance that she went out with some guy? I think about 80% which she did soooo.. something is smelling very very fishy here, I know that if something goes lost here in Aruba they will definitely find it after a couple of days not after 23 days of her dissapearance, Aruba is a small island, and people/tourists cover the whole area of aruba 24/7 they cover the ground with tours and horse rides, they cover the water with jetskies and catamarans and boats.. because everybody enjoys all the beaches in Aruba, so what is the risk of losing something here and not finding it hmmm about 20%.. I think everyone should be on the look out for her with short hair and even a different color, as whoever may have escorted her away may have changed her description as best as they could to avoid being easily spotted. The investigators ought to go to the stores that sell hair color on the island and see how many boxes may have been purchased since her disappearance. I feel she is still alive, but could have been taken off the island. People are looking for a blonde with long hair and should be looking for her face in possible (forced) disguises.

Most of the time the details of the story have to be rearranged to find really what happened.
Here is a rearrangment:
The three guys picked up Natalee. They went for a drive...they went to the lighttower. On the backseat Joran and Natalee were kissing. If you check out the location at the lighttower, it seems to me not the most perfect love setting. Furthermore the two brothers are getting bored, because they have nothing to do while Natalee and Joran are kissing. So they probably opt for lets go home. However Natalee and Joran were not ready to go home, so they ask to be dropped at the "lover's lane". This ia a much nicer environment. When Natalee and Joran are dropped the two brothers go home. The two lovers are having fun.
Joran father called him to come home because he was out to late or he just had enough and wanted to go home. I think Natalee didnt want to go yet (it was mentioned in their statements that she didnt want to go home) and tells him that she want to stay there or she will walk to the hotel. (when you have consumed a lot of alcohol, you think you can do anything and dont think straight anymore) While in the car Joran sms to the two brothers that the girl is still on the beach. Now it could be that the older brother, who has a car went back and picked up the girl, however I dont think that this has happened. You have to understand that it is not in the caribbean nature to kill for sex. Sex is easily available and is not like in the USA a thing that must be hidden. So I dont think that the girl was killed by neither one of them. Sex is certainly not a reason for it.

Why did the three boys made up a story?
The reason for this is that they figured that the girl was just missing and would appear in a few days in one of the crack houses. This has happened before so therefore, so a small lie to get all the attention away from them seems likely. Was it stupid? Yes, but sometimes we make small mistakes, which turns out to be big ones.

Something bad happened, what does this means?
This points to the fact that Joran now after the fact realize that it was really irresponsible to leave her alone at the beach and because the girl is missing feels “guilty” for his actions.

So what could have happened to Natalee?
1- Left by herself on the beach
she went swimming and drowned. The wind normally blows off shore there, so it could be that the body floated offshore.
she went walking and met another person and ran away
2- The older brother came back and picked up the girl.
The older brother want sex and killed her and the only spot he can hide the body I think is a graveyard. (they found another murdered at a graveyard...related???)
Or she wants to go somewhere else and he drops her
3- Joran killed her and tells her father. They take their boat and drop it far out in sea. This means that they have to carry the body from the beach to the car and from the car to the boat. This all have to go unnoticed?? And no evidence left behind? No long hairs or other dna in the father’s car and boat? If they didn’t found any traces in the car or the boat then it is very unlikely that this happens.

Hearing both parents what they have to say about their children, makes running away and killing impossible
However not finding the body can mean only:
Her body is in the sea, therefore it is very unlikely that she will be found
She ran away and is hiding.
If the body was on shore they by now must have found it. The island is small and by now every stone is turned around.
