I just saw this at ScaredMonkeys.

Kalpoe Family Denied Texas Equusearch From Searching Around Their House

A great deal of information comes to RWV, most of which, to be honest, I cannot simply pass along and inundate certain individuals I speak with in Aruba.

One reasonably solid bit of information I did discuss with some others was a report that the Kalpoe brothers were seen washing their car very thoroughly in what was said to be an unusual location near their home. This alleged activity was also reported to have been witnessed by an additional party, as well.

An initial on site check by another individual seemed to confirm that from the looks of some very specific observations made at the location, this bit of information could be accurate and potentially worthwhile.

After other discussions with yet a different individual closer to, but not directly involved with the search itself, it was reported back to me that everyone in the chain agreed that this particular search would be attempted with the dogs.

It seems that didn't happen. What is it, I wonder, that some might have to hide? Or are private property issues simply that sacrosanct to the Kalpoes?

Would you deny such a seemingly harmless endeavor to a group of people searching for a lost girl if you had nothing to hide?

maybe the mother refuses the police because of the bad way they treat her sons. Not saying thats a good reason, but i think she just feels powerless and doesnt think of what refusing help will make people think, because of this situation.

What's pathetic is that the "polis" haven't scoured the crap out of all things VDS and Kalpoe. Their stories are filled with lies. That should be more than enough probable cause to have combed through the properties and homes.

Ultimately, no corpse equals very weak case.

And unfortunately... NH is going the way of yesterday's news. It's a month old with no resolution, and no really good news with respect to concrete leads or evidence. I find it astonishing that three relative kids could hide a body that well and keep the secret.

No offense Dan, but I wouldn't let them search my property or house without a warrant either. It's just good business sense and the reality is that even if you "know" your kids weren't involved, could you be 100% or more certain? Would you risk the off-chance?

Who's to say Joran and/or his father didn't plant evidence at the Kalpoe's that they don't know about? I wouldn't risk it either.

While I believe the boys likely have information, there is still no physical proof and this is being turned into a witch hunt where police will need to tread carefully to ever find the truth.

I have to agree with Spike. Why the heck haven't the Arubian police issued a search warrant on that house and searched the grounds like they did with the Van der sloot home? The fact that they've got those two boys held on murder charges alone would prompt me to do a search of their cars, homes, rooms and yards. Have their personal computers been seized yet, and if not then why not. Is this a case where local polis want to incriminate the rich foreign dutch boy? Why would they protect two surinamese (SP?) boys, and if they're not protecting them, then why hasn't an appropriate search been done.

The equusearch has good intentions, but honestly since they don't carry the authority of the local police, then they don't have the right to search the property without permission and the mother is within her rights to refuse them.

Does it lead one to believe she has something to hide though? Absolutely!!!

I can't remember if I saw the alleged Kalpoe e-mail here or on scared monkeys, and I wish I could find it, but what is significant about the email, which is supposedly from one of the Kalpoes to a friend, is this --

there is a reference to Natalee wanting to see the sharks and there is a reference to Natalee falling down.

these references are sinister -- they would be an "innocent" explanation for bruises -- and perhaps the boys did take her near the sharks.

I went to the ScaredMonkeys site to read a bit of it. It suggests that the EquusSearch folks are not staying there much longer. That seems to fly in the face of their pledge to stay until they find her, unless by that time they'll have covered all possible places where divers, dogs and horses can tread and come up with nothing.

To Michele Malkin's post about "missing pretty white girls", or some such thing, I think what has been so compelling about this case is that you can see your own kid in it, or yourself.

My brother's got a friend who was "date rape" drugged to roll him for his wallet, and try to snatch his date. This stuff happens. If it does nothing more than raise awareness on how to prevent future attacks, it'll be worth it.

talking etc. about school, the vacation etc.etc.afterwards my friend had to go and she said that ''today is my last day i will be in carlos n' charlies will you be there'' and my friend said well i have school tomorrow i don't think so . well she begged him and he still said yes i'll be there.So that was in the casino i was not present , i was at work so my friend called me and said hey i met some girls in the casino and her friends and they want us to meet them in carlos tonight do you have to work tomorrow morning i said no , so he said pick me up later then i said ok. so i got off my shift at 10 pm and went home took a bath had to fix something and then me and my younger brother went to pick up my friend was around 12.10 am so i came to his home and was talked for like 15 min and I have been reading this site for several days now (yes, I'm a lurker) and I am impressed with some of the information I have learned. I also appreciate that Dan is trying to give us the "news behind the news" with trying to verify the things he puts up. I for one want to thank him for this. I realize that girls go missing all the time--and we wish that media attention could be brought to highlight them all--but the truth is, some grab us more that others. Maybe it is because of the way we relate to the victim in some way, who knows? I think this case has caught the attention of everyone because she is a beautiful young girl and Joran is a handsome young man. I for one would love to see Natalee found and Joran able to go home, and also his two friends. But....I am beginning to worry that is not possible. Do I think Joran is guilty, I don't know... it really is possible that he, being a typical teenager figured she can see her hotel, all she has to do is follow the beach a little bit and be back to her hotel... and someone else decided to abduct her while she was walking back to her room. It really isn't such a far-fetched idea. Not maybe true, but then we are just speculating (or at least I am)...

Speaking of speculating, I don't know it it has been discussed or not yet, but has anyone thought of the fact that if she can't be found anywhere, and she really is dead, that someone put the body in a deep-freezer (chest-type) as she is a fairly small girl. Or, how about a walk-in freezer, at someone's home, or fancy boat -- to be disposed of after the "heat" is off?? I suppose it sound's like a "soap opera" but you know it would fit. I hadn't heard anyone mention this idea before so decided to throw it out there to think about. Please be gentle about beating me up.

Greta had an interview with the Kalpoe's stepdad about this and he said they didn't say they were Equusearch and they didn't ask to search the yard or house. He said they wanted an interview and they didn't want to give him one. Greta noted that he has always talked to her and has let her in and around his yard and home. I'd be more willing to believe the newspaper story if they didn't let Greta in their home and talk about it. He says they'd let Equusearch in and search anytime. I say send Equusearch out there and make him walk the talk.

A couple of things: The spokeswoman said some samples have been sent to a lab. Which means they have found "something" that was worthy of looking checking. Perhaps something in search of the cars, etc. As Greta said, perhaps hair, etc. The results of all their investigative work is coming together for the hearing monday, or is it tuesday? That the prosecutor has the upper hand in that the attorneys have to prove the previous wrong, plus the new results. The kalpoe's step-father said on Fox tonight that he didn't refuse Equusearch right to search. I thought Beth and Jug were very frustrated and depressed with things. The Aruban govt. has said as many FBI agents as want may come into Aruba, but they cannot take over the search. It simply isn't possible. Also LE said at first this was a "search and rescue," now it is a "recovery effort." He didn't elaborate.

Sending materials to Holland for examination does not mean they found "something", only that there were tests, perhaps routine, that could be run. The big worry is that too much time elapsed before they got to this, allowing incriminating evidence to be compromised.

The whole thing sounds like a misunderstanding with the Kalpoes. However, it sounds like not many people here have actually witnessed a search of someone's property. It's total destruction. With a US search warrant LE can empty every drawer in the house, undo all the bedding, turn all the furniture upside down - literally turn a house inside out. The owners must put everything back. Why would anyone voluntarily allow such a search?
