Aruba Update 2

As posted earlier, the news that came my way from Aruba today was confounding. It suggested that the prosecutor has yet to be able to build anything resembl;ing a strong case against any of the boys, though that information cannot be 100% confirmed by me, officially, or unofficially. I can only relate it as information received from a source which has proven to be timely and reliable in the past.

I have also been told that, as clearly hinted at in a previous post here, the boys have been given lie detector tests and said to have passed all questions except for the critical question of when they either were with, or saw Natalee last. This is now the second source who has conveyed information regarding a lie detector being used in the investigation.

Frankly, sooner or later I'm likely going to get burned by going further out on a limb with a previously relaiable source than many in the MSM might. However, I do not report simple rumors, or every other email that comes my way. But, ultimately, the majority of outlets in the MSM have excellent credibility - and until I see something confirmed there - as many of my reports eventually have been - the MSM is still the standard you should use for near absolute certainty.

As a result of some info since my last post, I can't fit everything into one, or perhaps even two posts - more will be coming tonight.

I've been troubled at seeing so much information coming out that appears to want to shift the focus off of the boys and Aruba. The latest report I received, again, from someone who has been reliable in the past, states that an amateur photographer gave a member of the press a picture taken recently on a yacht suggesting it resembled Natalee. The picture was said to have also been passed onto authorities. I can believe that this report is true, so far as it goes - I do not believe that an investigation will reveal it to be Natalee Holloway. These are just some of the many confusing things going on behind the scenes, sometimes coming from people that might have an agenda not always apparent, or readily understood.

One troubling item was hearing that when some requested that police patrol and barricade an area that came up in yesterday's news - it has been said that the police responded they "didn't have the time." Contrast that with other sources assuring me that the Aruban government wants to do everything possible to resolve this case, up and including now going back to Dutch authorities to request participation by the NRD (National Recherche Dienst sp?) - reportedly a Dutch national investigative unit.

While tensions seem to constantly ebb and flow in this case, they were flowing very strongly under the surface in Aruba today. One item that has been being kicked around for some time is how island politics might enter into all this.

Just as an example, the Aruban Prime Minister and the Aruban Attorney general are from two different parties and elections are said to be coming up soon. As also mentioned days ago in a previosu post, there are several political parties on the island.

Situations similar to the above has led to at least some speculation that a an individual looking for the upperhand politically might have an agenda they view more important than the rescue or recovery of one American girl. For now, that's just some of the talk I am hearing behind the scenes, of course.

Concerning NH getting into the car supposedly with three men, here is a post that I have used several times to explain that. Combine this information with a post of the Dark Side from a woman who says she was given date rape drug meant for her daughter and was able to walk and answer simple questions, so they told her, but was totally unaware of doing so and had no meemory of the entire time she was under its influence.

There is a practice called "carving out" that is apparently practices on vulnerable women (drunk/shy/naive) by men who wish to prey on them. They surround the targeted woman and just sort of jostle her into an awaiting vehicle. Just the instant before she got into the car she pointed to the second group of students and said she was going with them back to HI. Taxis are pulling up, loading students, one pulls up in front of her and Joren and she climbs right it. Could she have thought it a cab, too? I would think that the logical thing to think if the other cars were as well.

It was reported she was later seen shouting "Aruba" out the window to her friend but I now wonder if it was just something that sounded like that and she may have realized her mistake and her speech was beginning to slur or she was making a call for help that sounded like Aruba phonetically. But we have no way of knowing for she is not here to tell us what she thinks. All we know is the instant before she got into the car, she pointed to the MB students and said she was going back to the HI with them.

Hope this helps with the question of how she came to be in the car with three guys. I do not believe, however, that this has any bearing on what happened later and do not think accepting a ride back to her hotel meant she intended to have sex with any of the. Does accepting a ride mean agreeing to have sex with somebody! Good heavens, I hope not. I acceoted one with my 83 yr. old neighbor not long ago who doese not even have many teeth and looks a fright! Would not that be a sort of soccer chant? Why would she chooses that particular thing to yell? If she did yell anything I would think it might have been some form of a request for help if she had yet realized she was not in a cab (absence of meter for example). But I doubt she did because if you will recall the mother of the brothers said they told her she did not speak to them. She further stated they sort of complained she did not even introduce herself to them which further suggests to me she thought she was in a cab for no well-reared southern girl would talk to a cab driver when she had an escort who should do so. Also, Joren would have been the one to make the intros and I find it very strange they thought her remiss for not introducing herself. Joren would have been the one who should have done that. Dan, reading your comment above about the different political parties and elections due shortly, I think you are terribly mistaken if you think that any political party or members of parliament have any other interest than finding Natalee and stop the close-up press presence, especially from the United States, on the island, because it will hurt the economy in the long run.

You are continuing to do a great job on this story. I think you hit an important change in tone in the story when you say there is a push to divert attention from the boys to some other leads. I wonder if Mr Van der Sloot, who is out of jail now, might not be masterminding the diversion campaign. If he can divert attention to other suspects or other possibilities, and manufacture some evidence or hints of evidence he may be able to create a bandwagon effect to divert attention from his son. Just a thought.

There may be other Arubans or Dutch on the island who resent the US press and may be helping create the illusion of anther story. They may not even be complicit with the father. They might just want to see Geraldo going on some wild goose chases. Not unfathomable.

I have been reading this blog as well as others and have been closely following the MSM about this story.

I feel for the family of Natalee, but my conclusions are this.

She was murdered or kidnapped

The Aruban authorities are covering it up to protect their own. They are just appeasing the MSM and public because this is has turned into big story, giving them little information, misinformation to keep them off the factual trail. What do they have to worry about? As long as they keep the truth hidden, this will all blow away and people will forget. Already it has started to fall off the headlines.

Police ....why did they not bring the three "suspects" in immediately instead of after 10 days. It gave them enough time to hide whatever evidence they had. As well as enough coaching by PVDS and local athorities.

PVDS....Why did he tell Joran not to say anything..if he was innocent "your not an American you do not have to say anything"

PVDS knows the legal system there..no evidence, no body, no conviction...just 100 plus days at the most in prison and it will all be over.

JVDS...Why did he beat his chest and tell Natalee's mother "What do you want me to do about it" If he did not think something happened? Common sense tells you, you just do not leave a foreigner on a deserted beach in the middle of the night miles from home. If that is not a BS story what is, the 1st story they gave?

Face it, this story is dead!!! I hate to say it, but it has been history weeks ago. It is just being drug out. The Arubans know this and they are playing the game.

We will never find out what happened to Natalee because the individuals that know can not be made to talk. All they have to do is stand there ground "holding up" as mentioned by PVDS and there lawyers.

Lets be serious here 20 days under intense interrogation? has anyone witnessed this interrogation after the 1st week when the FBI stepped out? heck the FBI has already pulled up their stakes and headed home. A month and this case has gone no where.

I'm not even sure they were ever on the beach, it sounds like the MB students said they were all over the beach area from the Marriott to the HI.

They could have taken her somewhere else entirely, even to his house.

It always seemed weird to me in the first place, if you've got a cute guy, pretty girl, they're hitting it off in the bar, why are you going to call TWO of your friends to get a ride? Wouldn't that spoil the party? Wouldn't you want to take a taxi to whereever you were going, beach, house, lighthouse?

But I do think that if JVS goes to Orlando to college he won't be the big man on campus..he might go there or to another US college but he will not go unknown. He can study, go straight, be very circumspect, study and get a degree and move on. But I don't see him being pledged to the Frat houses or included in the social scenes at the school

The Kennedy guy was absorbed into the fringes of society when he was hiding out in Europe...but JVS isnt' a Kennedy ...He might be able to hide in Europe but not here where his picture is so well known.

The brothers..dont think they are going anywhere...unless they get spirited away to disappear forever.

Nancy Grace, reporter says they timed the "walk" from beach to Joran's home. Took 36 minutes. This does not jive with the times of phone/text messages that Kalpoes have reported, so we are told.

Supposedly Joran called from the beach, said Natalee was asleep on the beach, he was going to walk home. Text message 20 minutes later from Joran says he's home.

It's one of those weird things, I've thought about the case a lot and all of I sudden I was like, a 17 year old guy is going to want to get the girl ALONE...He is not going to introduce two new competitors into the situation at the end of the night, turn it into a party. He wants romance, he's going to get in a taxi and then convince her to take a walk on the beach.

That's when the brother's participation started to seem evil. Then when I thought about what the brothers had said and what their mom said about her behavior I really felt like it was a set up for Natalee from the begining.

Not that I couldnt' be wrong, but the whole my two friends will drive us around is very suspicious coming from a guy who had already gained her trust....
