Aruba Update 1

This is a quick update prior to a brief meeting, after which I hope to have a fuller update posted between 5:30 - 6:00 PM.

Just a day after some were hopeful one piece of this mystery might fall into place as a result of search efforts, news so far today from Aruba hasn't been comforting.

The most troubling news now beginning to be discussed and said to have come from "reliable sources" close to the investigation point to a possible release of all suspects currently being held at the time of their next hearing, believed to be this coming Monday.

A report that is said to have started on Fox and Friends this AM that a high level police official is Joran's Godfather could not be confirmed as yet. I questioned the report, as Joran was born in Holland, not on Aruba - it has been suggested that while the formal term of Godfather may not apply, current information and a previous report of a high level police official having referred to Paul(us) v d Sloot as his "best friend" could indicate that Joran has benefitted from connections, especially during the early part of this investigation.

A last item for now, I have been told that Aruba is surrounded by radar, manned in three shifts with nine members comprising each shift - and despite persistent rumors of off-island intrigue as regards Natalee Holloway, they're likely unfounded, as this radar would have documented such an effort. That report not officially confirmed.

esp if the PDVS arrest was a ploy to get Joran to talk, it didn't work and they didn't even have sufficient evidence to meet their very low standard to the first 8 day detention cycle - I have to think if PDVS is getting favouritism, they wouldn't have hauled him I would think unlike they thought they had more than enough to meet the first very low threshold, the judge had a different opinion for whatever reason

DAN, regarding your entry about the boat theory being out - There was a video clip a week or so ago with an Aruban boat captain being interviewed and he had said there is a new radar system in place, so it would have been impossible to put so much as a foot in the water without the authorities knowing about it. I am a bit confused. What do you mean by "radar"? Does that mean that there would not have been any possible means of getting her offshore the night she disappeared? It isn't clear to me what you were trying to say there.

Also, don't you think that the US and even higher officials in The Netherlands would notice any sort of "favoritism" because of close friendships and disqualify that high police official from any involvement if that were the case? I think that definitely needs further exploration. I think the US and the Netherlands needs to make sure that isn't the case and would want to ensure that a third party get involved in handling the case if that were true. How disgusting if it is true!

On another note, do you have any updates as to those "hits" yesterday and what was the resolution of those investigations?

now. if you have been young and you travel, then the most common is hang out at the beach, the hotel lobby bars after that, and then venture out for the night on the town, various clubs. you hang out in your bikini on the beach have a skirt to cover the bikini after and sometimes a top, or you just leave the top part of your bikini on and a nice skirt to go with it. if you are dressed with a wrap around then most dont even go back to the rooms to change, since they had a few drinks at the beach, a few at the lobby bar, and off they go. makeup is minimal since most you are tanned. most girls carry their money in their pocket along with their id and money. easier no hassle. most times you pack the night before you go, and leave on the same outfit, with a t-shirt and shorts or long sweat pants in the carry on bag. this way you stay out most of the night, get shit faced its your last night, and paradise is nice. if you dont then sometimes you are lucky and your friends will pack for you if you are late. now have any of you been to carlos and charlies famos watering hole that no youth can get enough of??? we have and several of them in all parts of them. place it is the most relaxed attitude, and party your ass off place, and and sometimes the only club that is casual enough to let in the local romeos and lotharios, the ones that work side by side with the waiters and barmen. yes, you got it. the shady stuff!!! some of the classier clubs will not allow these lotharios in since they have no money for cover, and they are also not allowed or no local is allowed into the tourist hotel, hence, why they hang outside in the loby bar, knowing full well that is where the happy hour tourist girls will be. from the lobby bars most connections are made and they are always promoting carlos and charlies seedy place. there may be a few other spots, but this seedy hole dont check their local dawgs for id's. purses are snatched everywhere even in american clubs, especially the resort places. this is where the poor thugs descend on the tourists knowing they are the ones with money, so the girls are briefed or shalll i say tourist are leave your things in the hotel, (hmm lmho even there they are not safe, since the desk clerks can be shady and do work again in teams, so its known for things to disappear from the hotel as well. don't forget not everyone is targeted, ok! that is why they have the local spies who do nothing but hang out and study your vulnerability, which is relayed to the romeos. the theme of the room should be happy, we are in paradise so you are encouraged to get shit faced, and that way you can brag to everyone how good the time you had last night. yet when you are asked really what was so much fun about it, and what did you do, common response is Oh i can't remember i was shit faced. (hmm so what kind of good time is that? you can't remember what all happened except that you had fun. now the race is on, who will get whom, and which chick is the easiest with minimal complications, remember you can't go to her room. ah yes the famos beach and the stars and paradise romance something the american boys dont think of often enough. head out to the beach few kisses and you are melting, what you don't know that the beach is prayed upon by the local police, who will come up to you and say you are arrested, for whatever reason they feel, of course pay up or you go inside, the girl usually empties her $$$ and what she has in jewelery, and there you are continue on your merry way. its all arranged. if you are not that pretty and he got laid before you are walking with your paradise romeo, if not you will spread eagle and the cop will have his way with you. most girls are subdued and they remember shit the next day, it was smoothly done, after all that is their only job. no the cops will not kill you, just that you will be silenced or you simply wont remember the next day what happened. anyhow, you are gone the next day, you will not stay there to charge cause you cant remember are scared.
who cares, there is a new plane load coming in tomorrow, and fresh meat.

so stop asking who packed,natalees bags, why sshe didnt carry a purse, and all that jazz, oh and one more clarification. when you talk charter flights, as many of you think a charter is only a jet that is privately owned like the AIR FORCE 1, or similar to one that was privately owned by whoever was kind enough to bring betty and her group ASAP to ARUBA. most flights that go to the carribbean are called charted flights, since various tour operators buy so many seats on the plane, the travel agencies then in turn promote their flight and sell the tickets. hence, the word charter, they are cheaper since they are mostly all inclusive, and every seat on the plane is sold. flight was chartered. the rich and famos charter a flight as well just a smaller one, i.e. such as the unfortunate one that -aliah and her crew were on. so don't think the flight that natalee and her classmates was a privately donated flight, by anyone they knew. it was charetered froma corporation via travel agency and tour reps.

I had a look at Joran's tickle.com account before it was closed. I knew PVDS was moving into a defensive position when they closed that account a day after the security guards were falsely arrested. In the profile area of the tickle.com account there were the typical 'describe yourself' questions, including 'religion?'. Joran's response was "None...sowwy" with a smiley face. I think that is one very revealing insight into this boy.

I'm not promoting one religion over another or saying Christianity is the only true religion. I don't care if a person is Christian, Jew, Muslim or a pagan who sits crosslegged on the ground to worship flowers and crickets. But I think one has to have a belief of some sort that holds life as sacred. And that Joran does not, encourages us to believe he is capable of taking life without struggle of conscience. His ability to 'sit tight' may be confirmation of this fact.

One thing that I find disturbing in Aruba is that they can detain people for a long time without having to file charges. Of course this is monitored by the courts, but still. This policy has been attributed to the Dutch justice system. I find it surprising, because Holland is one of the most liberal and progressive countries world-wide. I don't think that you can detain suspects without probable cause in any of the other Euro-zone countries.
