Heard from the 18 year old tonight, now about 7-8 months into the Navy. Apparently they give those under 26 a doll and a bracelet with matching micro chips inside. They have to care for the "baby" for a period of time. Reportedly his "baby" is a crier!! And he seems to get some grief when at the store or driving from observant Mothers if the "baby" isn't being seen to correctly.
Evidently there is a lot of focus on preventing unwanted pregnancies and fostering child care patterns in the Navy these days. Who knew?
I thought they did that in Home Ec class.
