WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A senior U.S. Marine Corps general who said it was "fun to shoot some people" should have chosen his words more carefully but will not be disciplined, military officials said on Thursday.
"You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn't wear a veil," Mattis said during a panel discussion. "You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them."
The Pentagon inspector general concluded in August that Boykin should face "appropriate corrective action," and a senior Army general said in October said unspecified action had been taken against Boykin.
Unfortunately it would appear that General Mattis is far too honest for a career in politics. Shame! I'd vote for him anyday.

A lot of knuckle-gnawing lefties broke into tears when they heard about this.

MSM is saying: "What do we do with this guy."
I say, send him back to the front.

VDH points out great generals aren't generally great statesman. Get over it. Ditto great athletes. Who do want leading the troops, Patton or George Stephanopolous? Who do you want on your team, Bonds or Dr Phil?
