From the Kansas City Star.
Authorities allege that Montgomery met the pregnant woman after feigning interest in a dog Bobbie Jo Stinnett was selling. Stinnett bred rat terriers as a home business.
Using an assumed name, Montgomery allegedly struck up an online exchange with the 23-year-old, eventually getting driving directions to Stinnett's house.
According to an affidavit supporting the federal charge, Montgomery went to the house, strangled Stinnett from behind, then sliced her open to remove the infant.
Stinnett's mother, Becky Harper, called police and was instructed over the phone how to conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The common interest brought both to an Internet message board, the Rat Terrier Breeders Hangout.
Whether they had any contact before this week was unclear. But on Wednesday, a Darlene Fischer posted a message for Stinnett on the board:
“I was recommended to you … and have been unable to reach you by either phone or email. Please get in touch with me soon as we are considering the purchase of one of your puppies.”

Chillingly, the email associated with that post was fischer4kids@hotmail.com
The two women then conversed a bit over instant messaging programs, the FBI said. Afterward, Stinnett posted an addendum to their conversation. It remained on the board Friday:
In a post she almost fatefully entitled "Done and Done" Bobbie Jo responded:
Darlene,
I've emailed you with the directions so we can meet. I do so hope that the email reaches you. Great chatting with you on messenger. And do look forward to chatting with you tomorrow a.m.
Thanks Jason, and talk to you soon Darlene!
Have a great eveningBobbie
After the slaying, board devotees rushed to discuss the happenings. One noted that Montgomery had told her she was expecting a child.
Throughout Friday, the guest books on the Stinnetts' Web sites, www.happyhavenfarms.com and www.imageevent.com/happyhaven, filled with condolences and hopes that the Stinnetts' child would safely be recovered.
“What a horrible happening,” said a writer identified as Tracy. “May God comfort and help you through this.”
