So, I'm riding home from work listening to Mark Levin on WABC NY and he's riffing on this O'Donnell clown for his outrageous behavior as regards a genuine Vietnam veteran, John O'Neill . Is that not one of the most repugnant things you've ever heard on MSLSD? And next he has O'Neill on the line and they're talking. All of a sudden Levin says something like, "Do you realize that we could soon have John Kerry as the POTUS?" And my breath went shallow. The first thought that came into my mind was Australia, geesh!
So, I shake it off and come home, get settled, do a little surfing and the first thing I find is this from Jeff at Protein Wisdom.
I’m feeling queasy. The fact that I can no longer trust the mainstream media to give me any straight news—to the point where it is next to impossible to gauge the outcome of this election beforehand—is frightening enough. But that their abuses may actually lead to a John Kerry presidency -- the wrong man at the wrong place at the wrong time—well, that is giving me the cold sweats.
OK, cool. Maybe we're just thinking alike for some reason. I figured I'd grab some dinner and maybe write about it later. There are worse things for a still fairly new blog than a TB to PW - and it was legit. I wouldn't even feel like a complete whore.
I come back after dinner to flesh things out and there's another link ... to Ace in Jeff's post.
That's not a hard and fast prediction. I know Bush is slightly, sorta-kinda ahead. But I'm watching this election with the same sense of dread as watching a New York Giants football game, with the Giants barely leading on the scoreboard but leaving their opponents in the game by never delivering the knockout blow; I feel a little momentum drifting towards the opponent. If you just leave an opponent in the game, at some point he's going to take the lead. Suck for you if he does so right before time expires.
Hmmm. OK. Double word score! Cool! So, what's with the emptiness in the pit of my stomach ...?
... I haven't voted since 1992.
Clinton was the kind of clown any street kid could spot coming a mile away. I saw it. My friends saw it. My family saw it. A floppy-earred jerk-off from Texas with billlions of dollars probably saw it, too. And the great savior of the Vietnam Vet - the man with the charts and a bad haircut tanked Bush senior in the "name" of America. Bullshit. Where is Perot now? Did he stay around and fight for the cause? No, of course not. Because he was the cause. He had his fun. He helped take down a sitting President already coming out of a recession who had every right to enjoy the first four years of the Clinton run when tax breaks, technology and a peace dividend from Reagan/Bush got this nation right.
Perot's crime was to steal away the Reagan legacy and hand it to the dems. Clinton cruised, let way too much go, accomplished very little in eight years that could have been an even greater era in our history had the right individuals been there to capitalize upon it - Reagan to Bush to whomever. Instead, he got head and took credit - probably the only two things he actually does well, besides sell bullshit. Thanks, Ross - you asshole! Pthooie!
I was demoralized when Bush lost - disgusted by a country so ignorant as to elect him and reject a man who had led the world in a just war, won it, and had served this country with honor and integrity from an early service career, to decades in government. I let my voter's registration lapse. Fuck 'em, I thought. People get what they deserve. I was bitter.
And, yeah, Ace is right - it's happening, again. The media is working it's "magic." The dems are scaring the poor, insulting blacks through their ignorant race baiting tactics. It's even worse - now we have the whole vote fraud fiasco added to the mix. But there is no Ross Perot. And, Clinton, stumping in PHILADELPHIA??? Dem "stronghold" Philadelphia THIS late in the campaign?? Things aren't exactly as they were 12 years ago, boys. And would people PLEASE remember that not once in an election did Clinton EVER get 50% of the vote. Check the record, it's true. Doesn't that say something about this country? He didn't even hit 50% as an encumbent with a booming economy.
Oh, and you want another thing - you want voter registration? Well, I saw this crap coming just like I saw Clinton coming and here's one staunch conservative you can count as a "new" voter this year. And I'm voting for President Bush. And I live in freakin' NJ, for Cris' sake. And I don't think I'm so alone. So, with all due respects, Jeff and Ace - screw you! ; ) Oh, and how's about a link sometime?? heh Just think of it as sort of a redistribution of wealth, if you REALLY want to get ready for a "Kerry" presidency! With luck and hard work, it's the closest we're going to get to one ... this time.

You are a hard-working NJ madman. Good for you shaking your fist in the air and getting a freaking link.

Of all the stories in the media that I saw happen myself - from things as simple as a power outage or an earthquake to the WTO 'riots' and even a woman being chased by police who killed herself by jumping off a 165' bridge - the MSM was always wrong.
It reminds me of a photo I saw: an Arab throwing a rock at the Israeli Defense Force people, amid 15 photographers taking his picture.
As for voter registration, I'm expecting more fraud than ever. So far I've been sent 4 absentee ballot applications, and gotten 5 calls (3 recorded, 2 live) and one personal visit urging me to vote via absentee ballot. All were from the same political party, which isn't a surprise; the US Census says that my census block if about 70% minority, so I kinda-sorta expect that we're being targeted.

I didn't vote in the 2000 election, but I'm definitely voting for Bush this time around. I have four major reasons for voting this year.
1) 911. It's one thing when the parties are arguing about who is going to use tax dollars to buy off the most votes, but it's entirely different when national security is a legitimate issue.
2) The Democrats can thank Michael Moore and others like him. These people, and the DNC's disgraceful embrace of them, has made me considerably more committed to voting for Bush. I hope I'm not the only one. The Democrats need to be spanked, told to sit in the corner to think about what they've done, and to come back again when they can start acting like adults.
3) The economy is undoubtedly going to improve no matter who is president (although probably not as quickly or by as much with Kerry), and it would piss me off to no end to see the Democrats attempt to (and probably successfully) take credit for it.
4) I'm in Ohio, so my vote might actually matter.

I'm also voting for the first time in ages. I'm not in NJ anymore, but I am in New Mexico, and I really think that there are going to be enough of us to swing this state.
Keep your powder dry, and get everyone you know out to vote. It's ours to lose at this point.
