Political Vice Squad: Liberal Media Cognitive Dissonance: The NewsWeak "Poll"
As could be expected the MSM is launching the last month of it's campaign to get Kerry elected. First the stories and then the polls. The NYSlimes does it's part by recyclying old news in How the White House Embraced Disputed Arms Intelligence Other stories were floated all day - Dixie Clits want Regime Change Springsteen and Stipe take to the road to unseat Bush. Why doesn't anyone ever point out that these R&R prophets spent much of their youth as drugged out and drunk rebels "exploring" their art and navels and have about as much credibility when commenting on politics as I would have producing an album - zilch.
Thanks to the Political Vice Squad we have these Newsweek Internals:
NewsWeak belched out a set of data that was based on the following partisan breakdown:R = 39 percent
D = 30 percent
I = 27 percent
Not stated = 4 percentHere's the partisan breakdown for today's "poll" by NewsWeak:
R = 34 percent
D = 36 percent
I = 27 percent
Not stated = 3 percent
Do you think they might have stopped to think there's a connection when you drop 5% Republicans and add 6% Dems to your sample - and lo and behold you get about an 11 point swing for Kerry? And of course the headline screams Bush Lead Evaporated. Nice touch capping the article with a picture of a frustrated smirking Bush. Could these people be any MORE obvious. I believe real clear politics has more and if you read down into the internals you see that nothing has really changed as to how people really feel about either candidate.

The ratios that the pollsters use may well be worthless -- Bush is getting 95% of Republicans, but Kerry is only getting 75% or so of Democrats. He is losing the so-called "9/11 Democrats", such as GOP Convention speaker Ron Silver.
