Simply contrasting these two responses to the recent Bin Laden tape tells you all you need to know about the two men and which one is fit to lead this nation. Kerry is a disgusting political opportunist with terrible instincts and no regard for what makes an individual or a nation great. I started out thinking he was an empty suit. He has shown himself to be even less during this campaign. As Lynn Cheney said, This is not a good man.
"Let me make this very clear," Bush said in Toledo, Ohio, standing next to Air Force One. "Americans will not be intimated or influenced by an enemy of our country. I'm sure Senator Kerry agrees with this."
Kerry, in an interview with WISM in Milwaukee, said of Bush, "He didn't choose to use American forces to hunt down Osama bin Laden. He outsourced the job." Kerry has criticized Bush throughout the campaign for failing to capture the leader of the terrorists who struck the United States on Sept. 11, 2001, questioning U.S. strategy in pursuing bin Laden in Afghanistan
Kerry was a pathetic disgrace in his post-vietnam activities. People arguing that it was simply the missteps of a young man can no longer support that argument. If nothing else, the sad opportunism demonstrated in his comments above should cost him enough votes to lose this election. With America threatened, we now know that a President Kerry would think first, last and always about himself and his political viability. His very, very poor instincts continue to betray him.
CQ has a post up on the Bin Laden tape.

Kerry may do worse than people expect! Even the "locked in left" of California may vanish! I noticed the "thin" lead indicated for California on the electoral vote site! The difference is obvious. Shoot - how can someone - even a strong, all down the party line of the ballot Democrat - vote for such a person. They needed a better man on their side.

This quote
Kerry, in an interview with WISM in Milwaukee, said of Bush, "He didn't choose to use American forces to hunt down Osama bin Laden. He outsourced the job." (Kerry contradicts the commander in the field and pretends not to understand the difference between strategic decision making -the job of the President in consultation with his militatry advisors - and tactical decision making - the job of the commanders in the field)
Should be compard with this quote (courtesy of David Brooks' article in NYT)
Back in December 2001, when bin Laden was apparently hiding in Tora Bora, Kerry supported the strategy of using Afghans to hunt him down. He told Larry King that our strategy "is having its impact, and it is the best way to protect our troops and sort of minimalize the proximity, if you will. I think we have been doing this pretty effectively, and we should continue to do it that way." (Kerry was not running for office then and bin Laden had not "escaped".)
Just another shameless flip flop from the Say Anything campaign. The big question for election day is how many people are, like MSM, going to stand by and have their intelligence insulted.

You say "Kerry was a pathetic disgrace in his post-vietnam activities."
We had 500,000 troops in Nam! Did Kerry protests shorten the war and save some of their lives?
The US used atomic bombs to shorten WWII and saved lives. Kerry used words and demonstrated to do the same. Put it in correct perspective!

Sour grapes!
I have a self-crushing urge to say to the self-righteous christian right wingers who gave Bush an overall majority;
"All you good young men and women, get thee to a recruiting station! Our arrogant, god-inspired puppet needs you for more unjust preemptive war in Iran, North Korea, and maybe even Saudi Arabia. He promised no draft, and we all know that the American people have unlimited funds to pay a bonus to all who enlist in his pompous fight to bring democratic government, enlightened with christian values, to the heathen who sit on the oil we need."
