Many would like to see the Kerry "less than honorable" discharge story break tonight. Apparently there is some email circulating that says it will be so. If it does break, it better have some meat behind it. For now, I'm wondering if it might "break" but only in the sense of a lot of smoke but no smoking gun. Drudge radio might be a worthwhile listen tonight, along with monitoing his site. I'll be looking and listening off and on - posting any updates found. For now, check out the links below.
Bear posts the following -
The rumor mill from which the allegedly forthcoming discharge story comes has indicated that Kerry's brief moment of honesty was actually part of what led to that story coming together (if it comes together). So for NBC to remove that quote is more than a little bit suspicious.
Some seem to think NBC's selective editing of the Brokaw piece (removing Kerry's "my records haven't been released) is fuel for the fire. While they likely did Kerry a solid by cutting the blurb, it's hard to see a central connection to the specific issue of his discharge.
CQ is also on this part of the story. And Spoons, too.
Also, PoliPundit has a growing on topic thread - or is that an oxymoron for any blog thread?
Update: Nothing on Drudge Radio. My take: Either it breaks with a Lipscomb byline in the Washington Times overnight, or it ain't happenin'. It was my understanding that any sources on this piece were working with Lipscomb. I believe he also breaks things in the Chicago Trib - fwiw.

Dan'
We've discussed this before, but I believe what's pertinent here is that men in the Armed Services that are proud of their service don't hide their records. The evidence is there plain as day. He couldn't get into law school at Harvard because they were concerned that his less than desireable discharge would ban him from joining the bar. Judicial watch was stonewalled in their investigation but found over 100 pages of his record are still sealed. His faux pa on NBC was a dead giveaway that all of his records aren't public. And, even more problematic, he claims the 100 pages unreleased are medical. BS; they are after action reports he phonied up and proof he was either a less than desireable discharge or never received a discharge (worse). I wish a strong investigative nose like yours would prod this along a little further.
