NYC Video: Whoa! Dr. Adam Levinson Couldn’t Get Enough Of His Work, I Guess
OK. This is bizarre. He's a urologist and an assistant professor of robotics and minimally invasive surgery at Mt. Sinai in New York and gets taken down for using a pen camera to video up a woman's skirt in the subway. This guy knew what he wanted when he went to college, didn't he? Bye, bye excellent reputation.
Police have arrested a Manhattan doctor for allegedly shooting video up a woman's skirt in the subway.
Authorities charged Dr. Adam Levinson, 39, of West 17th Street, with unlawful surveillance and harassment, the NYPD said.
Cops arrested him Wednesday at the Union Square subway station. He had a small camera hidden inside a pen, police said.
After obtaining a search warrant for the camera, police found images taken under the woman's skirt, according to reports.
Levinson was arraigned early Thursday morning. A judge set bail at $5,000 cash over $15,000 bond.
He is due back in court October 15.
Levinson, a urologist, works at Mount Sinai. In a statement, a hospital spokesperson said: "This is a police matter and Mount Sinai is cooperating fully with the authorities. The employee has been suspended pending the result of the investigation by the District Attorney's office."

Per your title, urologists usually see men; women go to the OB/GYN for plumbing issues. (Part of the pelvic floor)
KLSmith you’re wrong. Both women and men go to urologists. Women go to OB/GYNs for reproductive issues. OB/GYNs do not have anything to do with women’s “plumbing”. That is a urologist’s specialty. Women get urinary tract infections they go to a urologist, NOT an OB/GYN.
(Note that I said USUALLY)
HC: you a XY or a XX? Cuz women sure as hell do see their OB/GYN for urinary issues. When women are pregnant their urine is checked monthly and treated in OB office if there is a problem. For MANY women their primary physician is their OB/GYN and it is not uncommon for sexually active women to get UTI’s. they don’t usually need to see a urinary specialist for treatment of a simple infection. Ask your mom, wife, sister, etc.
Most urologists specialize in penises.
KLSmith – having your urine checked at the OB has nothing to do with urology. Family Drs do that. I am a woman and I’ve been to several urologists in my lifetime for treatment of chronic UTIs as have many women I know. It is very common for women to have chronic urinary infections as well as other urinary problems – incontinence, cystitis, infertility, cancer that require a urologists care. If you were to see an OB for any of these they’d refer you to a urologist.
HC: more people would probably see a nephrologist.
And I was just pointing out to Dan (as a heads up – I doubt he really gives a cr@p), that most people associate urologists w/ dudes. Maybe the area I live in is different than yours. Around here most women would see either OB/GYN or kidney specialist. Not saying women would never go to a urologist but, all men would see one for bladder or prostate, etc.
Klsmith: I’m a working urologist and your statements are for the most part incorrect. You should listen to HC.
Thanks DdMD. KLsmith was on the right track but incorrect.
I’ve worked with Urologists doing minimally invasive surgery and anything and everything that happens at a Cystoscopy Suite. at least 30% of the patients were women.
OB = reproduction, Uterus, Vagina
Nephrologist = essentially Dialysis, Diuretics and Diabetes
Urologists = Any surgery for the kidney, and anything medical, surgical or cancer related downwards from that (except for the vagina)
