Mike “The Huckster” Huckabee Scams Listeners On First Show
How prophetic! And you know Mike "The Huckster" Huckabee knows what "prophetic" means. How is he going to get right with the Lord after this one? I mean, Jeff Lord at AmSpec, of course, who busts Mike Huckabee for the very first caller into the Huckster's brand new (and born to fail) radio show being a staged caller? Worse, it was his boss and they hid that fact from … well, I was going to say listeners – unfortunately, I'm not sure he had any. A man's faith can only accomplish so much and I don't have much faith in Huck cutting it on the radio. Somehow, I think he'd play better at a funeral.
He is an ordained minister, after all. And you know something's very wrong when a column penned by a guy named "Lord" calls you out for a cardinal sin in talk radio on the very next day after your big ol' show launch!
The caller…"Mike from San Francisco"… was in fact not just your average Mike.
Catch that? "Mike from San Francisco" begins by saying in supposedly unprompted fashion that (bold emphasis mine) "… it's great to have a different opinion and a different person on the radio…"
In fact, "Mike from San Francisco" turned out after some digging to be one Mike McVay, the senior vice president of programming for… wait for it… the Cumulus Media Network. None of which was acknowledged on the air by either "Mike from San Francisco" or, more to the point, Mike Huckabee.
This saith the Lord, over at AmSpec. Wow! I mean, come on. How prophetic is that?

Well, he might milk a few months out of it. But not much beyond that.

Throwing Huckleberry against Rush is the GOP establishment’s version of Air America. No evidence that he has an audience but they are going to try to cram him down our throats anyway. Same solution as for Air America: turn the dial to another station or if necessary, pink noise.
I never understood the appeal of Mike Huckabee. He always seemed like one of those squishy religious socialist RINO’s. Like conservatism isnt “compassionate” enough for him. I always got the vibe that he hated Mitt Romney because of his Mormonism, too. Something about Huckabee has always just made me cringe, and now hearing that he is trying to brand himself some sort of “nice” version of Rush just makes me ill. Throw in the sham of a first caller and my gut seems vindicated. Huckabee is and always has been, a phony.
I give him 37 shows before he disappears from the airwaves.
