Manchin Signs On To Blocking EPA’s End-Run Of Democracy

By

You can't talk jobs without talking energy. Just as Obama and the Democrats ignored voters after Scott Brown won the Massachusetts Senate race, post-November, Obama is now committed to allowing the EPA to implement job-killing regulations that will have far-reaching negative implications for job creation in America for years to come.

It's good to see such bi-partisan support (details at link) for the effort to stop the EPA from their continuing battle against the private sector by robbing it of lower cost energy. Now, we have to keep the pressure on the Senate.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), a vocal critic of the Environmental Protection Agency, has signed on as a co-sponsor of Republican legislation to permanently block the agency's climate rules.

The bill has a good chance of passing the House, but will face major hurdles in the Senate.

Oh, just wait a few weeks…
the Obamic Gulf war, and the Collective’s war on modern culture will really start to show up in people’s fuel, energy, and other bills.
BIPARTISANSHIP will start to be the only way Deemocrats can save their butts. Manchin is just ahead of the pack.

    Talk about an understatement.

Peruse Chevrolet’s February sales release, and you’ll notice one number that’s blatantly missing: the number of Chevy Volts sold. The number – a very modest 281 – is available in the company’s detailed data (PDF), but it certainly isn’t something that GM wants to highlight, apparently. Keeping the number quiet is a bit understandable, since it’s lower than the 321 that Chevy sold in January…
Ouch. The big questions, of course, revolve around one word: “Why?” Is ramping up production and deliveries still a problem? Is demand weak? Are unscrupulous dealers to blame? When will sales start to climb? And what are these numbers doing to plug-in vehicle work at other automakers?
Nissan has sold 173 Leafs in two months; Megan McArdle notes that, back in November, its CEO was projecting sales of 500,000 per year by 2013.

    Wow.
barfo, what are the polling numbers for the Volt…?!?!?

Let’s get busy with the nuclear “loan guarantees” too.
Understand that these are really insurance policies against government blockage of a project AFTER it get its permits and begins construction. One pays an upfront insurance premium to get the “guarantee.”
So a project developer pays the government money upfront to repay the developer if the government changes its mine.
It is really a protection racket but you can’t finance a new nuke without it!

  6. Ragspierre says:

    But, Whitehall…
Teh One, in speeches, said, …”atomic power”…several times…over several years,
so, moon poney rules mean that we are building atomic power plants all over the county now!!!
    See?

Nope, not much of a hurdle actually. Way too many Senate Dems up in ’12.

  8. barfo says:

Thank goodness the fringe of the Republican Party decided to get the Democrat’s base all riled up then, Big Suze.
Plus, I hear Christine O’Donnell is going to run again.

    “Heard” barfo/liar
Did that come via the tin-foil hat.
Does it matter if the moonbats are in a frenzy?

    LOL!!
Would that be the base that you told us was going to ensure the dems retained control of the House?
    LOL!!
Your base has a long way to go to get as “riled up” as the entire rest of the country is with your delicate diversity hires’ policies!!
Hey barfo, did you see that the gas prices you told us weren’t rising are now over $4/gallon?!!
    $5/gallon here we come!
    Mission Accomplished barfo!

barfo: “Plus, I hear Christine O’Donnell is going to run again”
And I heard that obambi’s “helpers” are working hard to ensure that obambi’s girlfriend in the Caribbean stays down there past the 2012 election.
Between that and the rumors that obambi might be hitting the cocaine again, your side has enough to worry about barfo.
    LOL!!

This is very good news. I think we need to look at shutting this agency down though. It will rear its ugly head if the wrong people are there again though. KILL THE MONSTER!
