Dear Media Matters For America

By
March 9, 2011

Just wanted to point out to you that your so called "discredited activist" James O'Keefe's efforts have led to ACORN losing financial support from taxpayers via Congress and ACORN was then forced into a re-organization, likely rendering them less effective. NJ Governor Christie used a video from Project Veritas in his battle with the teachers union in New Jersey.

And now at least two NPR execs have lost jobs, one lost two, given Ron Schiller is no longer going to work for the Aspen Institute. Oh, and NPR is now on the verge of losing its public funding. Meanwhile, for all of uncle Georgie's money and Podesta's political genuis, you have accomplished what, exactly, since you came to be? Oh, that's right, nothing really. Last I looked, Rush, Levin, Hannity, Beck et al are all still on the air and going stronger than ever.

Now, go back to tickling your Elmos and crying in your lite-beer due to the damage currently being done to NPR. We're not laughing with you, we're laughing at you, clowns.

The many-times discredited activist is back with yet another "sting" video, this one of NPR executive Ron Schiller speaking with what he believes to be perspective donors from a Muslim education group (in reality, O'Keefe's operatives merely pretending to be scary Muslims). According to a press release from O'Keefe's group, the unironically named Project Veritas, the video shows Schiller "blasting Republicans, Tea Partiers, middle America, Jews, and Christians," and "expose[s] the true hearts and minds of NPR and their executives."

“Now, go back to tickling your Elmos and crying in your lite-beer due to the damage currently being done to NPR. We’re not laughing with you, we’re laughing at you, clowns.”
Lite Beer? Hell, they drink wine coolers.

  2. mark l. says:

it would be better for soros to pay a couple of million to o’keefe to ‘cease and desist’.
he’s paid tens of millions to bail a few mililiters of water out of the liberal boat, and o’keefe just walks over and p***es on them as they are bailing.
funny how the liberal economic muse doesn’t know the first thing about buying a winning team. still, not as dumb, or as expensive, as time/warner buying huffpo.

  3. Ragspierre says:

The MEEEsiah is brewing his own beer…but hasn’t met half his cabinet…???
And the basement dwelling “lotion boys” are just dancing with rage at the successes of a few young conservatives with cameras and recorders…!!!
The Obama era is winding down to its ugly conclusion…!!!

  4. Susie Q says:

Just proves that conservatives are actually smarter than leftist twits. Twits did just fine until conservatives woke up, and starting going on offense. When their own tactics are used against them, they don’t know how to respond.
It’s a beautiful thing to watch, and be a part of.

  5. D. says:

A young man with a camera brings them down AND they consider themselves to be the intellectuals? The irony of that is just too funny!

  6. Ragspierre says:

“Just proves that conservatives are actually smarter than leftist twits.”
It also proves…CONCLUSIVELY…that they are who they PROJECT conservatives being.
    Bigots, haters, and utter hypocrites.
Oh, and supporters of those who would destroy our culture.

  7. barfo says:

    Meh,
I don’t see that O’Keefe makes much difference.
ACORN is back under a different name. NPR isn’t going anywhere.
The Left can always just point out how much money Breitbart, the Daily Caller, Pajamas Media, Kelsey Grammer’s blog failure, etc. are losing every month if they want to play the gotcha journalism game…which is ironic considering the Right is supposed to be the Capitalist side of the the mud pile.

  8. Drago says:

barfo: “The Left can always just point out how much money Breitbart, the Daily Caller, Pajamas Media, Kelsey Grammer’s blog failure, etc. are losing every month if they want to play the gotcha journalism game…which is ironic considering the Right is supposed to be the Capitalist side of the the mud pile.”
    LOL!!
    Barfo logic!! On full display!!
    Where does one even start?!
barfo, the “less-coherent” “Sheen-ist” blog poster!!
    LOL!

  9. Ragspierre says:

    barfo/liar/racist/coward’s NEW BS line…
yesterday, he was aping the moonbat lie that Schiller was a FORMER NPR executive…
Which had to wait until TODAY to be true.
Which barking-mad moonbat lie factory put out that talking…er, LYING…point, barfo?
NPR isn’t going anywhere…??? THAT is true…especially as respects any federal $$$$…!!!!

  10. mark l. says:

    breitbart is losing money?
isn’t he generating something like a 1000 bucks a day in advertising?

  11. mark l. says:

“I don’t see that O’Keefe makes much difference.”
but then you probably thought obamacare didn’t have much effect on the midterm slaughter.
any other things which you hold a willful blindness towards?
    afghanistan…cough, cough.

  12. Ragspierre says:

C’mon, barfo…what was your source for this latest pack of lies…???

  13. itsMike2Cents says:

I wonder how many failed stings O’Keefe set up?
But I doubt he’d ever release any footage showing folks acting honorably (which he surely has lots more footage of than anything).
What was that CNN bit he tried and failed at?
I’m glad he’s on your side….he does belong there.
A fuller viewing/reading of this was how much these guys were obviously just baiting the NPR guys. The woman there seemed to wisely not say much…perhaps had a sense.
And the guy/idiot…well he shared a lot…and it didn’t take too much prompting (aside from the fact that a $5mil check might make someone tell someone what they think they wanna hear).
A win for the little punk here – he pants’d another individual and managed to tie their singular ineptitude to an org not at all guilty of the offenses revealed.
Can’t say conservatives ever promised a fair fight.
Folks should be wiser to this b.s. by now….like it seems PBS is.

  14. Ragspierre says:

That REALLY is the stupidest thing you’ve come up with, and you insist on repeating it.
How many Pintos did NOT explode? How many people DIDN’T rob a bank??? Asinine!!!!
The guy IS NPR, stupid. Notice how his female associate slupped everything…even doubled down on some of it.
What a “little punk” you are.
“Fair fight”…??? You just HATE it when you get caught lying, cheating, stealing, and BEING what you project other to be.

  15. mark l. says:

“What was that CNN bit he tried and failed at?”
    i got my divorce there.
this is just a ‘one night stand’ which is extremely satisfying.
    ******************************
looked at how breitbart got rolling…media savy v. describing himself as “matt drudge’s bitch”
but then we look over at the seminal event for moveon, “fly toaster boxes” screen savers…
and breitbart looks like far less of a stretch.

  16. barfo says:

“but then you probably thought obamacare didn’t have much effect on the midterm slaughter.”
The Republicans had a good inning because the economy was still in the crapper.
I hope you don’t think it was because of the fringe right ideology of people like Joe Miller, Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell…

  17. Ragspierre says:

That “fringe right” that CRUSHED the Collective in 2010…???
That appears to be the MAJORITY…???
    “Good inning”…!?!?!?
    Try HISTORIC SHELLACKING…
Gawd, you really are an idiot, barfo.

  18. mark l. says:

“The Republicans had a good inning because the economy was still in the crapper.”
given our trajectory, when do you presume we will be out of the crapper?
clock on that one is probably less than 20 months.
i tend to think you sell yourself short on the ‘in the crapper’ theory…
1q of 2010, we were at +4.8% growth. hardly consistent with the crapper theory.
    2q, +3.7%.
    3q, +4.6%.
so…now that the crapper theory has been seperated from gdp growth, it would stand to reason that the ‘crapper’ theory is based solely on unemployment.
you think the 8.2%, projected, is good enough?

  19. mark l. says:

“I hope you don’t think it was because of the fringe right ideology of people like Joe Miller, Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell…”
    two words:
    joe manchin.
little did I suspect that it would be a democrat that would make the case against obama’s economic insufficiencies.
complete erosion of confidence for the president, within his own party. these next 20 months are just going to fly by…

  20. Rob Crawford says:

They did keep Rush from losing a bunch of money on a football team.

  21. Rob Crawford says:

“I wonder how many failed stings O’Keefe set up?”
I wonder if you have a lick of sense.

  22. Richard says:

“[P]erspective donors”?? Does that mean they are going to donate some sense of scale, magnitude or importance to NPR? Might be useful.

  23. richard40 says:

Dem activists tried a similar sting against the wisconson governor, but they didn’t actually get him to say anything really hateful or incriminating. So the only embarrasing thing that attempted sting exposed is the governors staff didn’t do a very good job of screening his calls for imposters.
What this tells me is that repubs behave in private much like they do in public, while dems sound inclusive and compassionate in public, but are bigoted and hateful in private.

  24. DirtCrashr says:

I’m not terribly surprised having seen a picture of her – they have a bunch of punk kids still wet behind the ears and soft in the head running the NPR-thing. Are there any adults anywhere on the Left? Bueller?

  25. Nelson Muntz says:

Funny people make doo doo on themselves. Ha Ha!

  26. Susie Q says:

I just love the howls from the moonbats. That’s all you got? Come on, you can do better.
Sucks to be you, now, doesn’t it? Gawd, I can’t say how much I’m loving this. The wails of dying moonbats.

  27. You cite Acorn, and NPR.
But don’t forget the Planned Parenthood scandal as well!

  28. Jackson says:

“Perspective donors”? Isn’t that supposed to be prospective? Good investment, Soros. Of course, the way trolls cite MMFA as a factual reference it’s obvious that suckers do abound in the leftosphere.

  29. lkj;lkj says:

I love how they consider the Muslim Brotherhood to be an education group. Aren’t moderate Muslims ever going to be insulted by liberals lumping them in with their most radical elements?
Also, it’s spelled “prospective”. Having only one multi-billionaire financing them, I’m assuming they rarely have to write a fundraising letter and so don’t know what a prospect is.
What I like best is the follow-up from Breitbart. They’ve released the entire video, unedited. The same goes for the video where Planned Parenthood is caught advising pimps on how to avoid getting caught when getting abortions for underaged prostitutes. And they’ve challenged the MSM to do the same (for example, releasing the full, unedited version of Couric’s interview of Sarah Palin).

  30. Bill Whittle says:

I will cease and desist for $10 million!

  31. Will Bittle says:

Bill, I will be sorry to see you go. I shall take up your banner in your stead! Enjoy the money!

  32. jcrue says:

lite beer? try the only supply of Zima on the planet.
    Media Mutters….

  33. Ragspierre says:

(to itself, in a dark basement)

  34. Jay Tea says:

Hey, let’s not be too hard on Media Matters. After all, didn’t they take down Dr. Laura?
    That’s a mighty empty trophy case…
    J.

  35. melanerpes says:

Pretending to be “scary”? What sense does that make? They were pretending to be generous.

  36. time to rise up says:

To Media Matters, in the words of Jane Smith, “pussy!”

  37. AzA says:

You gotta wonder about people who think that someone is “discredited” simply by their having said so.
Kind of like getting beat up in a fight, but declaring yourself the winner.

  38. George Soros says:

    Good post barfo.
    You bring the lotion tonite.

  39. P. Aaron says:

It wouldn’t matter as much if it wasn’t for the $450 Miliion bucks a year we’re all paying for what’s been billed as ‘balance & All Things Considered’.
    Defund ‘em I say.
The intellectual being fooled by those he considers fools is the best part of this.

  40. Dave says:

Let NPR and PBS compete in the marketplace just like Air America.

  41. OSweet says:

Thanks for putting everything in prospective.

  42. Suzanne Hawthorne says:

So what’s with PR’s other executive on the tape, Liley? Why isn’t she getting the sneers that she so richly deserves for laughing when the Muslim Bro says they used to call NPR National Palistinian Radio–she even says “That’s good.” So far, there seems to be no fallout for her. Why not? She’s as bad as Ron Schiller.

  43. Frank says:

I would miss the NPR music, but not much else.

  44. itsMike2Cents says:

“She’s as bad as Ron Schiller”.
I don’t know about that, Suzanne.
A fairer reading would reveal that she seems uncomfortable…quiet. Fine to jump on one little thing, but that’s what it is. And her remark come off as too sincere….more like appeasing some odd folks she was having an awkward lunch with.
But hey, why attempt any empathy when evisceration is so much easier…
    “The guy IS NPR”.
    Now that is asinine.
(But let’s file that little leap of logic away. Sure to come in handy.)

  45. itsMike2Cents says:

    typo:
And her remark DOESN’T come off as too sincere

  46. Irwin Chusid says:

Schiller and Liley didn’t seem the least bit frightened. Yet Media Matters describes the faux donors as “scary.” Who’s Islamophobic here?

  47. ic says:

    Fired NPR CEO: Vivian Schiller.
Bigot senior fund raising VP: Ron Schiller
    V’s dad’s name Ronald Schiller
Question: Are Vivian Schiller and Ron Schiller related? If yes, taxpayer paying nepotism?

  48. Leland says:

    Baghdad Bob comes to mind.

  49. Lanceman says:

Zima? I thought they quit makin’ that after all those hillbillies went blind?

  50. Ralph Gizzip says:

    Fired NPR CEO: Vivian Schiller.
Bigot senior fund raising VP: Ron Schiller
    V’s dad’s name Ronald Schiller
Question: Are Vivian Schiller and Ron Schiller related? If yes, taxpayer paying nepotism?
Posted by: ic | Wednesday, March 09, 2011 at 09:18 PM
It has been reported in many articles covering this story that Ron and Vivian are NOT related.
BTW, it may be Lent but I’m not giving up schadenfreude.

  51. straight8 says:

“I wonder how many failed stings O’Keefe set up?”
I wonder how many home runs Babe Ruth didn’t hit?

  52. Ragspierre says:

“And her remark DOESN’T come off as too sincere”
And yours as piss poor apologia.
mikeNOsense, you have never shown less sense than on this incident. NPR was caught with its slacks around its ankles. This IS who they are. It IS the culture, not just there…but at PBS, the NYT, etc.
    We ALLL know this.
And you, of course, are lamely attacking the messenger.

  53. Drago says:

mike: “I’m glad he’s on your side….he does belong there.”
    I know!!!
Why didn’t o’keefe simply and honestly and courageously and with journolisty-integrity simply draft up some fake documents that made both of the schillers appear to have been AWOL during their military stints?
Or why didn’t o’keefe just claim that those horrible lefties spit on him and called him sand-”n…..”, even though 14 gazillion video cameras were rolling and showed none of that?
I mean, that’s what “real” investigative journolists do on the left and are praised to high heaven for it.
    Right mikey?
    LOL!!
The left really has no idea how incredibly stupid they look when they complain of tactics that they have been using forever!!
    LOL!!
    Poor lefties.
If I may paraphrase Patton: Alinsky you magnificent bastard!! We read your book!!!
And now mikey, you, on the left, will have to live up to the standards and metrics YOU have been using!!
    LOL!!
    Good luck with that!!
So far, it’s not looking so good for ya!! LOL!!
    You betcha!!

  54. Ragspierre says:

    “Fake, but accurate”.
The inscription over the door of the Academy Of Collectivist Journolism.
“What I said on that tape does not represent who I am.”
The inscription on Mr. Schiller’s employment headstone.
“Not only “No”, but “HELL NO”.
The response of the MAJORITY in the House to further funding of publicly funded propaganda.

  55. They could use some “perspective donors” – you know, someone to give them some perspective from somewhere besides the interiors of their own colons.

  56. It’s an attack against organizati¬ons with an opposing political ideology. That is their intent, and the ends justify the means. Fail to see how this exposes wide spread corruption¬, or has any significan¬t journalist¬ic quality.

  57. LibSmacker says:

Yeah, Barfo. I can’t get over how many hours of video the CrapStreamMedia showed of Tea Partiers BEHAVING and cleaning up and loose paper that they may have dropped. A Soros plant shows up with some objectionable sign, the Tea Partiers run him off, and the CrapStreamers try to paint the majority of tea partiers as being like his Obama-kissing-ass.
Only the right is supposed to play “fair,” correct? You lefty, commie, America haters can do whatever you want and it’s supposed to be fine.
Well, those days are gone, comrade.

  58. Libsmacker says:
