Election Day Tea Party: Cash Direct To Candidates Effort

If the cash is going directly to the candidates for any organization, then it sounds like a good idea. I think the trending is away from giving to orgs and to candidates directly. And it's probaby how it should be.

ElectionDayTeaParty.com today announced a ground-breaking fundraising drive called Cash-for-Candidates. The program kicks off at noon Tuesday, October 12 and ends at midnight Wednesday, October 13. Over the course of 36 hours, conservatives are encouraged to visit www.electiondayteaparty.com and contribute directly to one or all Election Day Tea Party Top 50 Congressional candidates.

"The founding premise of the Cash-for-Candidates drive is that – just like Election Day Tea Party – we are putting people in touch with the campaigns themselves," said Lorie Medina, a co-organizer of the project.

"This is what makes Cash-for-Candidates different from every other fundraising effort up to this point. We are not bundling or aggregating donations; contributions don't end up in a PAC somewhere for someone else to determine where to put it. In pure Tea Party form, it is up to the individual donor to decide which campaigns to support."

Principle trumps “electability” … A great way to streamline what we grassroots types have been doing all year: Giving to strategic small-government candidates, not parties http://bit.ly/4cCD3E

  3. I see Ann Marie Buerkle is third on the list. She must be doing something right. Daily Kos went after her today.

I encourage readers to consider donating to Dean Scontras, challenging freshman Chellie Pingree in Maine CD1. Pingree is a proud member of the Congressional Progressive caucus, a job-killer who votes uniformly with Pelosi. In the Maine legislature Pingree supported reforms that destroyed the health insurance market for inidividuals, and her vote for Obamacare shows she intends to destroy private health care in the US as well. Scontras is a businessman and a free-market conservative who wants to reduce the tax and regulatory burden on US businesses. http://www.scontras2010.com
