Tainted By Rangel Cash, History, Rep. Bean (D), Censors, Intimidates At Townhall Event
After a closed-door, pre-event meeting between Rep Melissa Bean (D) IL-8 and staff of the Round Lake Area Public Library, a man alleged to be the hulking head of library security repeatedly took an intimidating stance, standing over questioners who raised controversial issues. Other library management attempted to dissuade an attendee from video taping what was purportedly a public townhall event. Rather than stop the intimidation, Bean appeared rather pleased with it based upon her smiling acknowledgment. Video below.
Rep. Melissa Bean has a troubling history involving townhalls. She's also one of a few Democrats uninterested in disbursing Charlie Rangel cash to charity, as other Dems have done. Now, via video below and at Gateway Pundit, she seems to be resorting to intimidation and censorship to prevent questions from being asked at alleged public townhall events.
While many other Democrats are rushing to dump campaign cash given by under-fire U.S. Rep. Charlie Rangel, Melissa Bean isn’t. The Barrington Democrat says she won’t donate to charity the $28,000 she received between 2005 and 2007 from the New York congressman or from committees associated with him.

Two days ago, I called attention to the $25 fee to get into Democrat Rep Melissa Bean’s town hall in Illinois. See here. After I blogged about it, someone changed the title of the meeting to lessen the embarrassment.
Bean then changed it to a tele-townhall without informing constituents.
She billed her $25/person Chamber of Commerce pow-wow as a “town hall,” then had it changed after getting smoked out. Then she hastily convened a telephone town hall, but didn’t notify constituents until the last minute. Reader Mary in Johnsburg, Illinois e-mailed last night:

Why did no one stand up and bring attention to that goon by loudly questioning his actions, and loudly question Bean for allowing it? These political thugs will try to silence and intimidate as long as they think they can get away with it, but once they appear on YouTube, they scurry like rats. The only way we’re going to stop this behavior is to shine a spotlight on it.

I’ve never seen that guy at the library and I go there often.
I would have stood up and told that thug he has two options: get out of my face or lose some teeth.
I called the Library Director and left a message. I wanted to know if it was standard procedure for the library to use thugs to intimidate constituents during TownHall meetings. I also said that Bean needs to understand that she works for her constituents, not the other way around.
Offer a small reward to the first person who identifies the thug. Then you can trace the thug back to whoever pays him: SEIU, security agency or off duty cop. Then trace the payments to Bean’s office.
Since when do libraries have security
Bean was 1 of 187 house reps last year, to vote AGAINST requiring ICE to remove lookout posts constructed by drug/human smugglers, within OUR Borders.

It’s not a matter of if, but when. Sooner or later someone is going to throw a punch. You can’t put these mouthbreathing mooks between a free people and their liberty without someone getting hurt.
Damn! I’m sorry I missed that. Here’s how you handle this:
1. Loudly warn thug that you feel threatened by threats presence and close proximity to your person. Loudly ask him to identify himself, who he works for and his title. Instruct him to back away now!
2. If threat fails to back off repeat both questions loudly adding that you are still feeling threatened.
3. If threat fails to back off repeat both questions a third time along with the fact that you still feel threatened and state that you will defend yourself if the threat does not back off. If the threat does not cease it’s threatening behavior react and defend yourself by any all appropriate means…
9 times out of 10 the threat will say nothing across all three challenges. With a room full of witnesses who heard you issue three warnings you are safely covered. After all you felt threatened, you repeatedly asked for threat to back off, threat failed to do so. At that point what choice did you have…

This is it, man. This is where all Leftist roads lead. There is no other end. When all else fails for them, as it always will, this is where we all end up. We face it down or we’re done.
On Thursday, August 12, I was there at the meeting with Representative Melissa Bean (IL-8) that was held at the Round Lake Library. The meeting was billed as a Financial Education seminar to teach citizens how to manage their credit card debt. What happened at this …meeting was anything but educational. During the meeting, which I attended, citizens started to ask questions about jobs, government spending and the federal deficit. As you can see from the video, every time a citizen would attempt to ask a question, Melissa Bean’s THUG, who we were told worked for the Round Lake Library, would walk over to that person and hover over them to intimidate them. This went on during the course of the entire meeting without Bean saying a word about the blatant intimidation she knew her constituents must be feeling.
It is obvious from Bean’s obfuscation that she chose this type of forum so she would not have to answer any direct questions about her voting record. Instead of having an open Town hall forum where citizens are free to have a dialogue with their Representative, Bean chose to have a representative from the Illinois State Treasury come in and lecture her constituents on how they should pay down their credit card debt and start saving. How ironic when the Federal Government has spent over 13 Trillion dollars and the majority of the states are on the verge of bankruptcy.
I, along with many others in attendance, felt that every attempt to ask Bean a question was either “shut down” by Bean personally or through the intimidation tactics of her THUG. Is this the type of “transparency” we were promised? Why does Bean feel that Thuggery is acceptable?

The security seemed to be low grade strip club bouncers. They didn’t maintain a defensive stance, left themselves open to “cheap shots” from those they were intimidating. (For some reason, they don’t expect to be punched) The security team should work from the back of the room, flanking the chubby lady makes her look ridiculous.
Letting her talk also makes her look ridiculous. Ask questions, but wait for her answer. Don’t interrupt a possible “macaca moment.”
This is not to say this trend could not escalate into something very undemocratic. Fascistic baby steps. perhaps.
Just add two more video cameras (operated by sweet older ladies) to the event and the goons will be rendered helpless. Frequently mention “YouTube” in your comments to the chubby lady.
Many low level politicians have “security” already. They’re sloppy, big-bellied guys in polo shirts, seated among the audience. You can usually see them at the end of an event. The goon leans in to offer the politician a handshake, then “pulls them away” from the constituents. The politician pretends to be forced to leave.
No no no. The best way to have handled the intimidator was to loudly ask the congresslime if she had a license for her gorilla.

I just called her office in D.C. and the person that answered the phone stated that “the event at the library was an educational event” and that the person that was walking around the crowd was the Executive Director of the Library. Providing security for the educational event.

So true. I am from Illinois and near Chicago, you have a greater chance there of getting killed then in Afganistan. Yet we have CCW, thankfully in Texas now and in the land of the free.
