Old Video Doesn’t Support Charge Suspended McKelway Has Temper Issues
After reading a Big Journalism item on a seemingly conservative reporter, Doug McKelway suspended for either on air comments, or saying too much to his bosses, I found this WaPo quote via NewsBusters. It brings up another incident involving McKelway and Mike Rogers, a gay activist who outs gays for political ends. Full disclosure, in 2006, I did once myself post that Rogers needed a good bitch slap for what he does. So, there's that.
If I ever meet the scumbag, he'll be lucky if I don't bitch slap the clown.
More importantly, the Left is busy using the previous incident to make McKelway sound unhinged. Below are the two pertinent clips involving McKelway and Rogers. Judge for yourself, but McKelway doesn't give the impression of ever being out of control. His voice is normal throughout, he's usually sitting back relaxed in his chair. It was simply one off-hand and perhaps well deserved harmless comment directed Roger's way – especially given that Rogers seemed to be suggesting McKelway's own objections to his tactics might be because, he too is a closeted gay.
Watch the videos below. Any notion that McKelway is some unhinged lunatic don't add up based upon what there is to view. The Left and media shouldn't be allowed to peddle that view without a fair and objective analysis for yourself.
At one point, McKelway told his guest: "I'd take you outside and give you a punch across the face….I think you're hurting innocent people."
A day later, McKelway was unrepentant on the air, telling viewers, "An apology? Mike Rogers, you're not getting one. You understand that? Because you're a bully and you hurt innocent people, and you're doing great harm to your movement, the gay rights movement, by doing what you're doing."
