Update: FALSE – WTF? Drug Cartel Seizes 2 U.S. Ranches in Texas

Via Bob at Confederate Yankee.

This can't actually be happening, can it? What, do they figure the numb-nuts in the WH is so weak they can get away with a move like this? Okay, on second thought, maybe they have a point. But still. Hell, the right configuration of Texans could end this nonsense. Retired special forces, anyone?

In what could be deemed an act of war against the sovereign borders of the United States, Mexican drug cartels have seized control of at least two American ranches inside the U.S. territory near Laredo, Texas.

Two sources inside the Laredo Police Department confirmed the incident is unfolding and they would continue to coordinate with U.S. Border Patrol today. “We consider this an act of war,” said one police officer on the ground near the scene. There is a news blackout of this incident at this time and the sources inside Laredo PD spoke on the condition of anonymity.

This one’s been debunked sir. http://confederateyankee.mu.nu/archives/303950.php . I like the way you think though. Unfortunately, Army Spec. Forces trained the original members of Los Zetas, though as was pointed out over at the Jawas, most of the original Zetas are now dead, incarcerated, or at the top of the ladder, as it were.

  2. Anyone based in a street-level-muscle business like the drug cartels or Sicilian mafia can smell weakness a mile away… imho that’s what we’re seeing here
The M know that this smiley plastic mannequin Obama isn’t going to do anything- so don’t be surprised if we see Russian troops in then Ukraine (or the Eleutians!) by 2012… who’s going to stop them?

  3. Tully says:

I think I’d go “Drudge Rule” on trhis one. As in give it 24 hours to clarify before buying into it.

  4. Rock says:

I suspect this should be monitored for a day or two, maybe a trap to discredit bloggers. Given the report has stated families are not in danger, waiting could be even more useful. If this proves to be false, a bigger story is to be had by who and why. On the other hand if true and the White House has failed to act, then they are accountable. A added plus, the world would see that the Cartels see’s Obama and his administration as no more a threat than the Mexican Government.

  5. No, no, run with it! This is great. And after that you can get right on the other invasion story from the Examiner, the one about hyperdimensional UFOs shooting energy beams at the White House.

Maybe Breitbart started another BS story.

  7. horrified says:

Where the F is the Obama administration when it comes to securing our borders?

  8. richard says:

You guys – this is a hoax, BS, nonsense. But the thing is you WANT to believe it; you want to believe Obama is so weak a bunch of busboys and lettuce pickers are invading Texas. Holy crap, are you serious?

  9. Actually, if you’ve ever actually been to Mexico, richard, you’ll know there are far more than “busboys and lettuce pickers”, and if you’ve ever been to any of the border cities like Juarez, you’ll know that the drug cartels are very well-organized, very tightly run, and downright murderous.
Just because you think brown people are idiots doesn’t mean that they are. And as far as these things go, Obama is more than willing to allow US citizens to be killed to appease the Mexican government. After all, especially in Texas, they’re probably all crackers who didn’t vote for him anyway, and he can get his Shirley Sherrod to open her big fat mouth and proclaim that they were racists who deserved to die.

  10. A Balrog of Morgoth says:

    To the aptly-named “richard,”
No, it is not a case of “want.” It is a case of our “You-are-effing-kidding-me-they-did-what??!!?” meter being thoroughly busted. Sorry that you are butthurt that President Easy Bake’s well-established and demonstrated weakness has made us credulous enough to give credence to an unsubstantiated rumor of another instance of such weakness. We apologize to anyone who was offended by the posting and discussion of this story wherever it may or may not have occurred.

  11. Oh, come on, Balrog; don’t deny your inner fruitcake by laying this off on Obama. Come out of the closet, revel in your credulity! It’s a feature, not a bug …

Thought you’d like a happy fisking of the Collective’s BS on immigration law.

  13. Sirkowski says:

THIS BLOG IS NOW UNDER MEXICAN CONTROL: NOTHING TO SEE HERE

  14. Mark G. says:

Is Rick Perry a progressive or not man enough to let us know whats going on. Texas has lost their sense of direction.

  15. joyMc says:

It will surprise me if Barry and big sis do anything since this is going on in Texas. The whole state could be taken over and they would not care. Anyone trying to stop it will be branded as racists. This regime is more afraid of imaginary sharp shooting red necks than anything that festers up from south of the border.

  16. Tully says:

And 24 hours later, it still doesn’t seem to be a real story, showing once again the wisdom of the “Drudge Rule.”

  17. Jimbo says:

Dude. I live down here in Texas. Trust me if you ever hear anything like this doubt it until proven otherwise.
Now if this thing had said California or Arizona, ok maybe then you check up on it.
But here in Texas? Actually grab some territory and hold up in it? Even those people are not that stupid.

  18. M. Simon says:

“You guys – this is a hoax, BS, nonsense.”
It is not a hoax. It is just a matter of time.
The shooting drug war has moved steadily north for 30 years. Colombia, Bolivia, Central America, Mexico.
Anyone care to tell me who is next on the list? Beuler? Anyone?
“The Latin American drug cartels have stretched their tentacles much deeper into our lives than most people believe. It’s possible they are calling the shots at all levels of government.”
    - William Colby, former CIA Director, 1995
Putting the criminal justice system in charge of treating drug addiction is literally attempting to do brain surgery with a billy club.
The Drug War was invented by Progressives around 1900 or so (Harrison Narcotics Act of 1914) and has been fully embraced by Progressive Conservatives.

  19. seekeronos says:

Really simple solution, if this is true:
Ring up the Air National Guard – perhaps a flight of A-10s, a few F-16s with cluster mini-bomb (antipersonnel frag weapons) or an AC-130 Spectre gunship if one can be had – to put a decent end to those miserable, murderous wetbacks.
