Video: Shirley Sherrod Is A Racist And A Marxist

By
July 20, 2010

Several disputes have broken out on Twitter over the full-length, 45 minute version of Shirley Sherrod addressing an NAACP gathering. Sherrod spends 15 – 20 minutes recounting tales of racism in the South, including the murder of her Father. On a personal level that is tragic. But the fact remains, she uses it as a device to provide her with absolute moral authority to speak on issues pertinent to today. And if you listen carefully to Sherrod, I believe she reveals herself to be both a racist, who sees things in terms of color, as well as a latter day Marxist. She uses race, in part, to justify those views.

In Sherrod's view, there is no one world, or even two. There are three. The elite, or wealthy, the whites, propped up over blacks, and then there are blacks. Far from the post-racial America some of her rhetoric would lead you be believe she embraces as a vision, this is a woman trapped by views of race and class that make her a poor public servant at best. Listen to these three minutes and decide for yourself.

In her world, any racism that existed in the past very much exists today. She hasn't truly grown at all based upon her own words.

  1. Mr Reagan says:

This Sherrod is a racist meme is dissolving fast.
Even Glenn Beck now says the charge is bogus.

  2. Dan Riehl says:

Beck’s still an idiot, as far as I’m concerned. Always has been.

  3. Huey says:

We won’t ever be a post racial society until the old guard simply dies out.
Until those who lived under Jim Crow laws are under the ground, we will never be able to move on for the simple reason that they are the ones who hold power in the black communities. Their unspoken (mostly) authority comes from their living through those times.
Charges of racism coming from a 20 year old Black Panther simply don’t have the ring of authenticity as might the same charges uttered by someone who lived in times when blacks couldn’t share my pool or drink my water or sit at my counter.
So, I give it about 50 more years before enough of the population simply laughs at those idiots who are stuck in the decades old past — before blacks became the biggest movie stars, recording stars, athletes, ran the largest cities, governed the largest states, sat on the highest bench, or presided over the most powerful country the world has ever seen.
But, so long as the Jacksons and Sharptons of the world still live, we won’t ever be free of false charges of racism or free of blacks (frequently in positions of power) making false claims of racism in their pursuit of money and power.

  4. joyMc says:

No doubt poor misunderstood Shirley will still get her full government pension. It will be a guaranteed income for life; substantially highter than the average American who busts a$$ for a living makes. So she won anyway.

  5. xerocky says:

If I were so screwed up because a black person killed my dad, and I spoke about how I don’t treat blacks with fairness because of it, what would become of me?

  6. Don’t ever expect leftist blacks to give up the race card. Nor should one expect the mainstream media to discard it. It is their weapon to use against the right and they do at every turn these days. The NAACP will never give up the race card because it is their meal ticket.
The only ones who can kill the race card are the very people it is used against! We should not give the left the weapons to use against us. There are two things in this world I don’t care about….and both of them are what leftists think about me. I know I judge people by their actions and not their pigment. Too bad so many on the left won’t!

  7. Steve says:

Sherrod was not the point of the video in the first place, and I think its a mistake to focus on her. The intent of the video was to demonstrate that some NAACP members, the ones in the audience, are racist. Showing that was the goal and it was accomplished.

  8. Steve says:

    >”This Sherrod is a racist meme is dissolving fast.”
That was never a “meme” in the first place. The “meme” was that NAACP members are racist, and that “meme” is a proven fact.

  9. Larry Sheldon says:

I think yoy should watch the video from tonight’s Beck TV program.
Especially if you don’t like Beck.

  10. giantslor says:

You might want to stop digging now.

  11. eddieinla says:

The left is working overtime trying to change the subject. Breitbart provided this video as evidence that the NAACP is racist. Sherrod has nothing to do with it. She initially says that when she was faced with “having to help” a poor white farmer who was allegedly trying to show that he was “superior” to her (at least in her distorted mind), she unequivocally said “what he didn’t know was that I was tryin’ to decide how much help I was going to give him”. The NAACP audience laughed. She hadn’t gotten to the epiphany part (which wasn’t much of an epiphany since she followed by saying that it actually is about white and black) when the audience laughed at her account of sticking it to the white farmer. As for the 82 year old widow, she wouldn’t have any idea whether Sherrod did everything she could have done. Sherrod unequivocally admits that she didn’t do everything she could have.
Also, Sherrod follows by calling people who opposed the health care debacle racists. Sherrod is a joke who shouldn’t be afforded the power of a toll booth operator. The left is in all out war and anyone who wants to prevent the end of our propserity can’t be cowed by these attempts to change the subject.

  12. JorgXMcKie says:

Gosh, those ‘phony’ charges of racism sure are bad when the shoe’s on the other foot, eh? Classic case of being hoist by one’s own petard.
Perhaps if Sherrod didn’t belong to a group known for tossing out charges of ‘racism’ whenever and wherever it might benefit them she wouldn’t have the same thing happen to her.
And I’ll start to pay attention to the rantings of the Left and the trolls here when they as vociferously defend those on the right of such false charges. I’m not gonna hold my breath waiting, though.

  13. JorgXMcKie says:

Oh, and when will the NAACP apologize for smearing the Tea Parties? I’m guessing around the 42nd of May some year.

  14. Brian says:

Wasn’t it just last week that Gateway had the video up of the St. Louis / Kansas City NAACP where the speaker was calling Kenneth Gladney an Uncle Tom and gladhanding with one of his assailants?
Sherrod is a bigot. It’s the Marxist code to insist that it’s not skin color or religion that divides people – but class. Ironically, she’s right as she has none. But once again, Obama selected another class warrior redistributionist to oversee billions.
Breitbart is completely correct and you could easily find dozens of other NAACP addresses where they say a lot worse than Sherrod.
I would always do a review of Tavis Smiley’s annual State of the Black Union and it was forever an overflowing cesspit of unabashed bigotry being greeted with hoots and hollers from the so-called cream of the black intellectual crop.
C-Span should have those videos of Tavis (who’s he working for now?), Michael Eric Dyson, Cornell West, Al Sharpton, Sheila Jackson Lee, Van Jones, Maxine Waters, Randall Robinson, Julianne Malveaux, etc., etc.

  15. If this black racism against whites is being touted in public discourse like this, imagine the magnitude of the subtle, secret black racism permeates all levels of our society today.

  16. hrun says:

So that’s clear now: Shirley Sherrod, a racist and a Marxist, gives a speech that does not show that she is a racist and a Marxist, even though it provides clear evidence she is a racist and a Marxist. And, of course, it is good that this speech, in which she describes actions that are not racist, gets her accused of being a racist, mainly because she actually is a racist and a Marxist.
However, that is not the main point: This video clearly shows that people who approve of a speech that are about actions which are not racist, are clearly racist and part of a racist organization. Since only racists can approve how Shirley Sherrod helped white farmers retain their family farm and become their lifelong friend. Which, by the way, probably also shows that these white farmers are racists and Marxists.
    It all makes sense.

  17. salvage says:

So how’s she a racist and a Marxist? You and the video don’t actually explain.

  18. wtfci says:

I suppose North Georgians have a case against Ms. Sherrod. As she admits, she’s biased towards South Georgia. That home team bias might sell in South Georgia to the NAACP, but she’s the administrator for ALL of Georgia.
The White House might walk into another mistake if they reinstate Ms. Sherrod after they forced her, and she apparently opted not to fight and defend herself, to resign.

  19. truthsayer says:

“she unequivocally said “what he didn’t know was that I was tryin’ to decide how much help I was going to give him”. The NAACP audience laughed.”
This is absolutely not the case. Watch the video. There are no laughs following Sherrod’s delivery of the statement. In fact, there is near silence. No applause, no “Amen’s”, not even a “mmmm hmmm”.
The audience does snicker a bit when she tells of the man trying to impress her and her perception that he thought he was superior.
Sherrod tells a beautiful story about reconciliation- with the theme being on of how blacks need to move on and one of how blacks can also be racist if they are not careful- and Breitbart along with the Right Wing media have distorted this into something monstrous.
Truly evil on the part of Breitbart and the Right Wing media.

  20. D. Ellerbe says:

It backfired on Andrew. He was the fool for not asking for the whole tapeand
reviewing it before taking it to the media. That’s what happens when you trust somone else and not think for yourself.
He just took that man’s word and went along with him wanting to get something on the NAACP. The tea party should ban all racist signs before being in public. All that they need to do is get on the bull horn and make the announcement. Is that a hard thing to do?

  21. Dan F says:

Our society is so used to racism from Blacks against whites that even these blatently racist remarks are excused. No she didn’t say “kill me some crackers” like the Black Panthers (defended by the NAACP) but i find it disgusting to have a person like this presiding over the distribution of federal funds. Worse than her racism is her Marxism.

  22. Aaron Pelzek says:

What is wrong with the world around us is that websites like this exist? I can not believe that you all actually believe what you are saying. You sound like finger-pointers, tattletales, preachers to the choir, no different than Michael Moore on the other side. Nothing changes it seems, people still spew nonsense about ten words someone said that are taken out of context and in turn condemn those who chose to speak out at all. You talk over each other to sound correct and listen only to those who agree with you. I think the real shame is that people have allowed the ideals of white supremacy and black supremacy to take over political details and people like Marc Williams think its okay to write letters like that while others think its okay to start a new Panther Party. Tragic America sounds more like it. You all offer your comments on Marxism as if its something that is so offensive, is it really? Or does it just sound good to denounce? I fear the worst in this world when I read things like these and think that the ones who speak like Shirley did will forever have to watch so that a single sentence of a speech can no longer be posted as a contextual nightmare for people like you to exploit. Shame on you all for thinking you are better than anyone and perhaps practicing the Marxist theory of “alienation” a bit too much has led you here.

  23. Huey says:

The point Breitbart was making wasn’t that Miss Shirley was racist, but that the NAACP was filled with racist members.
The tale Miss Shirly told may or may not, when all told, show her to be a racist (opinions differ), but, that wasn’t the point.
When her tale was only partially told, when she told the NAACP audience that she had used her position of power on behalf of the federal government to discriminate against a white person because he was white, the audience (not yet hearing the part about how she learned from this not to be racist) expressed its unqualified approval.
That’s the point, for those who appear to be slow to comprehend.
The “context” of the remarks came LATER. The moment of truth came when the tale of discrimination was told. The NAACP filled audience, UNKNOWING of what was later to be said, was entirely in agreement with Miss Shirley’s discriminatory exercise of power.
    Breitbart 2, NAACP 0

  24. Mike says:

This Breitbart spin is B.S. and YOU KNOW IT. The right is completely morally bankrupt and will lie, cheat or steal to advance their agenda. You need go no further than this for the truth. Maybe the most damning thing here is that Breitbart won’t just admit the “mistake” and move on. He got caught with his hand in the lying-my-@ss-off cookie jar and now he’s trying to spin it. Breitbart does not care if lives are ruined. He is scum.
This is disgusting. What may be more disgusting…from the comments on here, some people are STILL buying into this b.s. As far as the fact that Ms. Sherrod was even talking about race….well, it was a speech to the NAACP…her father WAS killed by the KKK. It seems like the issue of race would come up, and her story about being tempted by reverse discrimination and REFUSING it should be praised by the right….but, of course it’s not. Scumbags.

  25. BH says:

It sounds like she had two options: don’t help the poor white farmers(racist!) or help the poor white farmers by giving them government assistance (Marxist!)

  26. JennyOpines@aol.com says:

Funny how this article leaves out who exaclty murdered Sherrod’s father..it was a Klansman. You guys sure are selective when to point out one’s race, aren’t you? You’re a bunch of pathetic racist losers, and I’m happy to see your mask has come off completely now for all of Americans to see. Soon, FIXED NOOSE will be an ugly distant memory.

  27. King Samir Shabazz (D-black panther) says:

You tell ‘em cracker mike,, you tell ‘em!!

  28. King Samir Shabazz (D-black panther) says:

You tell ‘em too cracker jenny, you tell ‘em too!!

  29. Jeanne says:

Shame on all you supporters of biggovernment.com for this ugliness that attempted to spin a story 180 degrees away from the intent of the speaker. Shirley Sherrod was clearly telling of her evolution from a young woman who blamed her father’s murder at the hands of a white man to a woman committed to helping ALL the poor (black or white) achieve the “life, liberty and pursuit of happiness” that is the cornerstone of our democracy. To then try to take the focus off the story’s distortion and put it on what you understand as Marxism (apparently you define it as helping poor people) is to fail to actively evade your responsibility for your deception. Bearing false witness is against the Bible, last time I checked.
If Shirley Sherrod were a Marxist, she would not have helped a farmer own private land because there would be no private property in a fully socialist state. If Shirley Sherrod were a Marxist, she would be advocating for the government to own all farms since they are a means of production of goods. I knew ignorance abounded on the far right when I saw that 1/3 of you didn’t believe that Obama was a U.S. ciitzen, that half of you truly believed the government was instituting death panels, and that so many of you actively ignore the relationship between the public institutions (libraries, courts, water departments, police, etc.) that make for healthy and safe communities and the purpose of taxation.
An analogous distortion: If I related a story of having had a gun pointed to my head and forced to say, “I am a Tea Party Activist”, the Brietbarts of the world would only play the quote and not the context. If I objected, they’d then accuse me of an agenda that was anti-”second amendment remedies”. Garbage, truly garbage.

  30. Think says:

So you think if those who lived during the times of open and outward die views on racism will to? Don’t bet on it. If you who think blacks are always being racist you haven’t seen anything yet. Keep doing what you’re doing what you’re doing. It won’t be like the civil war or the marchs from the part. Come on with the comments in the streets. You’re some narrow minded, ignorant, empty headed, scared racist. Sad really if you’re superior prove it. Stop hiding and pretending you’re not racist.. Be proud of what you are! Cowards!!

  31. Think says:

  32. Joseph says:

Sherrod is doing two things in the excerpt. Her historical discussion of elite efforts to separate white and black servants is generally accurate. Look at the response to Bacon’s Rebellion in Virginia in the 1670s. Anyone versed in the history of the time period is apt to concede her outline. Those decisions clearly had consequences that continue to the present day.
Sherrod’s discussion of contemporary politics is another matter. Her villification of the Bush administration, Republicans in general, and anyone who disagrees with the current Democratic steamroller is enough to disqualify her from government employment. Her refusal to address the advantages Democrats and the NAACP gain from promoting racial division is either disingenuous or tragic.

  33. panayioti says:

this thread is the prime example of what is wrong in this country. So many of you are just a hateful lot trying to rationalize that hatred so it is easier to look in the mirror. Your God must be so proud of what you have become and the hypocrisy that you claim to be.

  34. Jimmy James Hollywood says:

Poor woman (Sherrod) gave a speech detailing her transcendence of race and you poor SOB’s on the right maliciously edited and co-opted her speech into something perverse. That’s downright low! For those who are trying to cloud the issue and speak of the cheers of the NAACP audience members (supposedly “prooving” that the NAACP is racist), you’d only be telling the whole truth if you also commented on how those same members that cheered again when Sherrod told how she did not let race affect her decision to aid the poor white farmers. Please people, we’re all in this together.
The fat man on the radio and the high school (recovering addict) on the radio are the ulitmate race profiteers. The each have millions of dollars. They rile you all up (which incidently raises their ratings) and they live in their mansions in Palm Beach while we’re struggling and fighting amongst ourselves having trouble paying rent, let along paying mortgages on multimillion dollar mansions.

  35. jan says:

Did anyone watch this video? This woman put herself and her values on the table for all to see. She thought a poor white man would get more help on his own(because he was white) with out her help, however she soon found out that discrimination has more to do with the color of your money than the color of your skin.It was a growing experience for her and she shared it with her peers, to show them that doing the right thing may not be easy, but it is always the right thing to do. Now she has lost her job , been publicly humiliated, and slandered by an edited version of her speech. Who ever did this should feel really proud of themselves for giving the African Americans yet another reason to resent whites. Maybe it is time to just grow up and start treating everyone, regardless of the color of their skin, with the respect that they have earned through out their lives. By the way, I am a white woman who tends to lean toward conservitive politics.

  36. King Samir Shabazz (D-black panther) says:

You tell ‘em JJ Hollywood, you tell ‘em cracker boy!!

  37. Jay Howard says:

THANK YOU, RIEHL! Damn right she’s a racist jigger who just want to prop up her own agneda. Enough of whining by these blacks who think cause they drive a lexus they can give us some wisdom about race relations. They need to STFU and get their people off welfare so my taxes can go to schools and police like they should. Plus I don’t wanna raise your damn kids either. Raise them yourself or quit having them. If I hear “babys daddy” or “babys mamma” again I will lose it. Learn how to keep your marrage together and learn what a condom is. Quit wasting your money putting rims on every damn thing with wheels. It doesn’t make your car more valuable it just looks like a black persons car/truck.
    Peace,
    Jay

  38. Augusta says:

Wow. Look at all the crazy lefty trolls trying to warp the argument – And pretending this is the only video showing racism in the NAACP and the public sector. One post above me is actually droning on about hatred for Rush Limbaugh because he has more money. Huh? So – here’s the lesson that Ms. Sherrod learned, and that fellow leftists agree with wholeheartedly: Racial hatred is a dead end and often backfires – it’s class hatred that’s the wave of the future. Oh! Also that ‘you can’t get fired’ if you work a government job. So c’mon everybody – get a government job so you can screw over taxpayers and give unqualified personnel massive undeserved pensions! Yippee!
PS. Psst…hey lefties, I’ll start taking your professed concern for poor black communities seriously when you start supporting school choice and voucher programs rather than the agenda of corrupt teachers’ unions.

  39. Keith says:

You guys are hiding your own racism by exclaiming she is racist….Kinda like when children say, “I know you are but what am I”
This tactic is “As Old As The Sun”
You are truly scary people, that will do whatever you want to achieve your goals! YOU are domestic media terrorists!

  40. the rifleman says:

Yo Sheety Shirley-if you want a Marxist black “society”, I suggest you move to Zimbabwe and join the several million blacks there that commie Mugabe promised the moon once he got rid of the white farmers who had made Rhodesia the bread basket of Africa. Instead, like all commies, he made Zimbabwe into the basket case of Africa. But let me guess Sheety racist Shirley-somehow the racist white guy Ian Smith must been behind this. Or the evil white farmers in Georgia.Anybody except your commie black hero, Sheety Shirley.

  41. Joe says:

No one on the Federal Government payroll gets fired for something like this, especially if it happened 20 years ago, and her employing agency had no case against her. In fact, it’s so hard to get fired that it is a wonder how debacle ever happened. In the worst case situation she would have been transferred to another less visible position (what we called in the Federal workforce as “in a corner”, meaning in a cube behing a bunch of file cabinets) and be given meaningless work.
In any case, in dismissing a Federal employee there would have been issued an Notification of Personnel Action (SF-50) at least, followed by appeals, hearings, decisions, etc. Based on my experience as an observer of the “system” she would have easily won an appeal and been awarded a cash settlement and had gotten her old job back and in six months be given given a promotion.
Sorry to say I am amused that the Obama Administration was spoofed by Mr. Breitbart. At least looking at his website and all the profanity that he uses and his headlines would be a dead giveaway that there is man is very sick and need mental health attention. Suffice it to say that there are so many loose nuts out there and it’s scary that a few of them got away, like Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, etc., and they got into a position of power and caused death and misery for so many innocent people.
    As Hitler once said:
“The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to be believed,
for the vast masses of a nation are in the depths of their hearts more
easily deceived than they are consciously and intentionally bad. The
primitive simplicity of their minds renders them a more easy prey to a
big lie than a small one, for they themselves often tell little lies,
but would be ashamed to tell big lies.”

  42. CNB says:

Breitbart owes Shirley an apology and she should probably also sue his a$$ as well as O’Reilly, Newt Gingrich, Hannity and Fox & Friends for causing all of this grief! Breitbart has hoisted himself on his own petard and it’s a delicious sight to behold after what he did to the ACORN group and to Van Jones! Shirley Sherrod will go down in U.S. history as a true American heroine! She is NOT a racist or a Marxist!

  43. Gerald says:

So, it is OK for whites to be racist but not blacks. Check.
It is OK to fire blacks for being liberal but not whites for being conservative. Check.
It is OK to still be angry about OJ Simpson getting acquitted, but this woman just needs to get over her father being murdered by the KKK. Check.
In other words, blacks should be held to higher standards than whites.
    Where am I wrong?

  44. SANDMAN says:

BULLSHIT ALL OF YOU DON”T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALIKNG ABOUT

  45. Adriana says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUcH0ABKDII&feature=player_embedded
Pay attention… in the long run it’s more about money than race (Only because some comments led me to anger I want to point out there are still and have always been more whites and latinos on welfare than blacks, and frankly if it only benefited black people it would have been dissolved years ago)

  46. MMonides says:

The more conservatives try to make this about race, the more we know you’re all race-obsessed crypto-Nazis.

  47. NA says:

Breitbart’s original article wasn’t about the audience – it was all about this brave woman. He’s trying to deflect his own responsibility after having been caught red-handed. You conservatives are just stupid enough to fall for the attempted deception – but you seem to like wallowing in your stupidity – so congratulations.
Do a parse of these comments supporting this idiot Breitbart’s “intention” and you see the obvious racism contained in them.
What a bunch of fools you are.

  48. NA says:

“Breitbart owes Shirley an apology and she should probably also sue his a$$ as well as O’Reilly, Newt Gingrich, Hannity and Fox & Friends for causing all of this grief! Amen brother – at least that’s what these douchebags understand. I hope this lady laughs all the way to the bank with all the haters stewing.

  49. Stelios Theoharidis says:

What a total bunch of fools. Your Marxist theory holds no water. She wasn’t working for the government when she was helping out these poor white farmers, who by the way defended her, calling her a lifelong friend. She was working for a a nonprofit farm aid group. That is personal responsibility right, not big gubernment idiots. Her story was about her transformation, from having prejudice, probably because her father was killed by klansmen, of which most of you Breitbart lemmings probably belong, to realizing that poverty was afflicting both the poor white and black farmers.
If someone who lost a parent to racism can transform themselves, maybe there is hope for you selfish, self-righteous fools. If my religion wasn’t already tainted by you hypocrits I would pray for you, all I have left is to hope that the dogmatic Randian fools learn a bit of humility. That is the only religion you follow by the way, Ayn Rand, if you were Christians we would need to transport you back in time to the Spanish Inquisition. This isn’t journalism it is propaganda. It has a clear agenda and it is pathetic that anyone would believe it.

  50. terry says:

Wow. The comments here basically proves just how STUPID, IGNORANT and completely ridiculous conservatives are.
So basically, this woman whose FATHER WAS MURDERED BY THE KKK should have just gotten over it. If a black person murders your father I seriously hope you get over it fast enough. This woman had to deal with lifelong pain and suffering over the loss of her father and yet, when this outright racist and prejudiced farmer talk outright to her face about how superior he is, she eventually wound up helping him. Even though her job is to help black farmers. I commend this woman for getting through all that hate and not letting herself be as low as the assholes who killed her father and that farmer.

  51. jennyopines@aol.com says:

  52. blueegyptian says:

Please, for the sake of your own credibility, DEFINE Marxism before you go labeling someone a Marxist.
You don’t explain in your post in any way how this is so…you just say watch the video closely. Watch the video closely WHERE?
What did she do that was specifically “Marxist?”
She went on to help the Spooners as well as other white families KEEP their farms. I guess even a tried, true hard racist can do this…if you really want to believe that is what she is.
But the Marxist thing just makes you sound kinda silly and not really qualified to be posting blogs on such a sensitive matter because you don’t get it…and I don’t think that is the impression you meant to give out in the first place. Please be specific.

  53. King Samir Shabazz (D-black panther) says:

  57. Better than you says:

    Joe -
Your idiocy astounds me. Firing her was never on the table. She was a political appointee. She was told to quit. That’s how life works in the big show, you mess up, you say something the wrong way, you make an inappropriate joke, you’re gone. No appeals process, no forms, no committees to hear the various sides. You quit. End of story. And the reason you quit is because in a year, or two, or three, the reason you quit becomes a footnote, and all is forgotten.
Aside from that, this woman probably is not any more racist than anyone else, which is to say that everyone is a little bit racist. Whether or not you admit it, you are too. You make judgments based on race every day. It’s human nature. To demand or expect a government that employs hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions, to be absent of these kinds of imperfections is a sure fired way to be disappointed.
My only question is, why do you care? This woman worked as an undersecretary (or the equivalent) for the department of agriculture. Did her job affect you? Did her decisions affect you? Did you even know she existed 5 days ago? Of course not. If you are outraged at these comments, if you have a bone to pick, my comment to you is as follows: get a life. Do a better job at work. Take your kids out to play baseball more often, because if you are expending this much energy to hate someone that has zero impact on your life and that you’ve never met, you have an empty shallow shell of a life. And I feel sorry for you.

  58. Apparently, the Administration types are so well-tuned to the racist leanings of their hires that their first instinct was to believe every bit of it as presented.
If Breitbart goofed, he at least fell forward. The Administration, without the first hint of a pause to consider, went with it because they know it’s exactly what they would do under the same circumstances. Her assumed guilt by the race-mongers is just so much projection.
It’s what they wink at and allow and advocate from thousands of church pulpits, state conferences and civic meetings every week. The NAACP is thoroughly corrupt and assumes everyone else of color is, too. Racist!
And really, I could care less what Sherrod thinks of white people, but she had better do her job according to the law of equal access.

  60. JorgXMcKie says:

Boy, you really stirred up a shitstorm among the Lefturds, didn’t you.
I have seldom seen so much projection on the part of the psychotic.

  61. Chris Burke says:

If we really want to be thorough, as the left is insisting we be, how do we know Sherrod’s father was murdered by a white man? After all, she is a liberal and you know how they’ll make up anything for attention. CNN demanded that news organizations “check up” on stories like this, before reporting them. Maybe CNN will look into whether she is telling the truth???

  62. David says:

Capitalism requires that all stand (or attempt to) on their own two feet. After all the civil rights marches and hulabaloo of equality they decry capitalism because it laid bare the divide, inequality in outcome and social devastation wrought by the progressive/leftist programs of the last hundred years. The terrible irony of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a cruel but necessary reminder that a simple decree is indeed hollow and offers nothing, proving there is no substitute for simply standing up, working hard and earning your place is a truly color-blind society.

  63. Actually, Sherrod is being held to the same standard as white people.
The problem is that she fails on an epic scale, because white people, especially in government employ, are simply not allowed to be outright racists who brag about their racist thoughts and beliefs to the cheers of the members of the National Association for the Advancement of White People, and then blame all of their racist thoughts and actions on the fact that their father was killed by a black man.
Of course, liberals can’t see that, because liberals judge on the color of skin and not on the content of character. For liberals, as we see here, it is incomprehensible that a black person could be a racist. It simply is beyond their capability to understand that because they only know the equation that black skin = right, white skin = wrong.

  64. Joe says:

Hey Barry Soetoro, why don’t you give your one brain cell a rest. Clearly you missed the point. So lets talk about your points.
Point 1. I never got into a discussion about whether or not she is a racist. Is she a racist? It’s a moot point. Her record speaks for itself.
Point 2. She worked for the Federal Government for 20 some odd years. I came to the conclusion that she had Federal Civil Service Career Status because it is hard to imagine that a Schedule C employee could work continuously through several Administrations without being required to resign during the transition from one Administration to the next. However assuming that she was a political appointee, and like all political appointees, she worked at the pleasure of the President and so she can be dismissed for any reason. OK, a mistake was made and now the Administration is trying to make amends. So what’s the big deal?
Point 4. Your last paragraph is pure nonsense that is intended to divert attention away from the issue. A total failure just like its author. How long did you work on it? Did you get any sense of satisfaction believing they I would fall for it? You can hang that one up.
Finally, can’t you NWO crash dummies be a little more creative in your writing? Now go away.

you can’t because you are liars..

  66. Azreal says:

I was gonna post something on here and blast every white person that’s saying something against this woman, the NAACP, the Pres, the Left etc etc, But I wont waste my time, your all nothing but lemmings point blank! I could run down YOUR history in this country and abroad and have you hold your head in shame, If you think our problem with you is just what’s occured in this country then you have been fooling yourselves all this time ;)

  67. It could be argued if people stopped getting so worked about everything, things wouldn’t be so bad. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, but all the bickering just makes it worse.

  68. FactReal says:

    BREITBART IN CONTEXT:
Sherrod’s so-called redemption or revelation (that it is not about blacks vs. whites) was included in the first video released by Breitbart.
The NAACP full video proved that Breitbart videos were continuous excerpts of Sherrod’s speech without being cut and edited as many in the press are reporting.
CHECK THE FULL TRANSCRIPT & VIDEOS FROM NAACP & BREITBART
    http://factreal.wordpress.com/2010/07/22/full-transcript-videos-usda-shirley-sherrod-naacp-breitbart-foxnews/

  69. DW says:

Even after seeing the entire video it is safe to assume shirley is biased and racist. She makes a blanket statement about GOP being racist and her statement about taking the white farmer to “One of his own” for help is troubling. I would like to see a white bureaucrat refer publicly to taking a black person to see ” one of their own ” and see how long he keeps his job.

  70. Sharon says:

Breitbart’s right. There’s a very clear version of the tape, where you can hear the NAACP audience “gospeling” back while Sherrod trash-talks whites. As for her father, people of any color can get shot when they’re mouthing off. Based on the way that Sherrod’s been shooting her mouth off, it’s easy to see why her dad may have been shot. While it’s terribly wrong for one who’s shooting his mouth off to be shot and killed – it’s not like someone snuck in his house and shot him while he was sleeping. Sherrod’s probably had a problem for years with people acting like they’re superior to her. That’s because most people are. Too bad one of those conservative black chicks from FOX News can’t get a hold of Sherrod’s number, give her a call and set her Marxist a_ _ straight. You know, give her what fo’.

  71. Namehere says:

Some here claiming that Sherrod “transcended her racism” in the speech given before the NAACP are.not.listening to what she says.
She migrated her racism into her socio-political views but she has not abandoned nor “transcended” her racism or racialist reasoning. She’s simply amplified it to now include “class warfare” dimensions.
What she MEANS by “rich and poor” is “black and white” — she makes a special point of describing “poor whites” as if they’re some newfound pet among her kennel, and, she’s startled that she’s found this new pet she can now walk around among her “own kind” (her words for Blacks, her race, these are the humans she deems as “people” not the rest of us — “(her) people” is an expression she uses often, just as she refers to the “poor white farmer” in the “his kind” refernence, or, “less than human” or “less than me and you (speaking to Blacks)” == this is classic racism as it is also racial supremacy speaking through and by Sherrod).
She has “transcended” nothing. She’s simply amplified her resentments and prejudicial perspectives to expand the “good” and the “bad” to be interchangeable with the “poor” (who she considers to be the victims, the “Black”) and the “rich” (who she considers to be the abusers, the “White”)…
Not only is her economic reasoning faulty but it is also prejudicial on a grand scale.
Based upon all the many, many racist statements Sherrod made all over broadcast media this last week, which is AFTER she made that speech to the NAACP, she has NOT “transcended” ANYthing, she seems to have actually grown far more racist in her mindset.
She clearly is not the brightest bulb in the bunch, in any bunch, but her racist, near-cryptic nastiness about racial generalities (her own and others’ races) and economic-prejudices disqualifies her from any public office using taxpayer money.
No one need be ‘ashamed’ for criticising the deplorable prejudicial nature and opinions of Shirely Sherrod. NOR of the NAACP audience listening to her, in any and all part of that controversial tape.
