The fresh face of the new-media sleuths, left to right: Avatars of blogger/twitterers Cubachi, trscoop
and Sister
Toldjah
.

"@sistertoldjah I am already sick of Weigel. We have a big expose on MSM bias, and it gets little attention" twittered rising blog star Cubachi a few minutes
ago. We checked out her story and Sister Toldjah's on-the-scent post, and eureka! Those two new-media woman warriors and a handful of nightowls (see below) were witness in the wee hours to a Weigel-like revelation as unidentified "newsmen" covering Sarah Palin's controversial California
State University Stanislaus speech felt free to spew the
Palin's-a-Pinhead party line into the ether when they didn't realize the
microphone was still on. Here's Sister Toldjah:

Just got done watching the speech Sarah Palin gave at California State University, Stanislaus – the one that generated so much controversy from “concerned” students to the point they were digging in trash dumpsters looking for contract info.

Anyway, she gave a great speech as always (commentary/live Tweets are here) but at times the Fox40 live feed was hard to hear – they were having audio issues. But at the end of the speech is where it got interesting. Here’s what some of the audio/camera guys** were saying:

“The dumbness doesn’t just come from soundbites.”

“I can’t believe she quoted Kennedy – twice."

“How am I going to write about this-there’s nothing there-answer well there’s your story”

It's downright Weigelesque. A few excepts from Cubachi's report reveal the dynamics of this new model of getting the scoop while the world sleeps:

I watched the video of supposedly FOX40 crew, techies behind the
scenes on hot mike speak ill of Sarah Palin as if she is a buffoon and all sorts of nonsense the left spews out at effective conservatives (i.e. Ronald Reagan). You can check out the video at The Right Scoop.

All of us on twitter, including Tammy Bruce, Melissa Tweets, Sister Toldjah,
Rachelle
Friberg
, TwittoNande, trscoop, and StephenKruiser
all heard what these two men were spewing about Sarah Palin. We all
tweeted about it, searched for contact numbers, and contacted FOX40
through twitter and other means. Sister Toldjah has a fantastic rundown of what happened last night. I don’t think all of us suddenly were hallucinating the same thing after we heard those insulting terms at Sarah Palin. It was more evidence of the MSM and their liberal bias… Maybe some conservatives will come to their defense. *ahem*

As we twittered this afternoon once we'd picked up the trail:

@Cubachi:
Your Palin-bashing story ties in perfectly with the whole @DaveWeigel
/ Journolist fiasco. Like the Gulf oil spill it is uncontainable!

Twitter update from Sister Toldjah:

Update to "journo-dudes dis Palin" story: @Fox40 has responded at my blog: http://3.ly/BRtB I believe them. Next Q.: Who said
remarks?

Update II: Michelle Malkin "Buzzworthy" link!

Update III: Memeorandum
has picked up the scent

  1. Lightwave says:

Surprise! The Lamestream Media despises conservatives and always will…well, as long as they last, considering the tens of millions of Americans who have now permanently stopped getting their news from an elitist press corps who thinks we’re all idiots.
My guess is you’re going to see a sea change in the Washington punditocracy shortly. The jig is now officially up. I’m betting a big purge of lefty pundits is coming simply due to the economics that nobody gives a damn about what Liberals have to say.
I predict a year from now even Rachel Madcow and Keith Blabbermouth will be gone. Weigel was the crack in the dam, and the flood is going to wash away Liberalism for good in this country.
And it could not come any sooner. Thank God!

  2. Jumbo says:

First off: Before Maddow or Olbermann are gone, your little quitter whore will be a faint memory for the tea baggers. Only the tea baggers will look back fondly on the quitter and her screwed up family.
I also noticed the cute little commenter referring to the ‘lamestream media’. Hate to tell ya, but Fox News is the mainstream – but hey, if Palin says otherwise, who are you to question the 7 college dropout? Please reach for higher mountains and more lofty goals. Don’t follow in the footsteps of palin and her chillbilly tribe. Even you might be smarter than she is – but then again, so is a toaster.

  3. McKay says:

Conservatives are irrelevant. Take a look at the culture of the USA. It’s Bolshevik to the extreme.

  4. A Stephens says:

Jimbo and McKay, you’re carricatures, both of you. While you’re entitled to your opinions, that you believe them doesn’t render them true.
What I found especially funny was the one guy on the audio saying, “I’m going to text my “conservative” friend”. You know as in a twist on an old saw, I can’t be a biased journalist, one of my best friends is a conservative! A conversation reminiscent of a junior high lunchroom.

  5. Sissy Willis says:

Lightwave: As always, you’re spot on:
“Weigel was the crack in the dam, and the flood is going to wash away Liberalism for good in this country.”
    Hoowah!

  6. Guest says:

Isn’t it terrible how not everyone in the media can stop him or herself from pointing out the obvious fact that Sarah Palin has nothing to say, and doesn’t know how to say it? They must be biased against conservatives if they don’t like Sarah Palin.

  7. bishop says:

Sarah Palin discussed civic education, freedom of speech and her infamous “bendable straws” demand at California State University, Stanislaus, on Friday night.
In a 34-minute speech, she poked fun at controversy sparked by the March announcement she would appear at the public school and the outcry over her confidential contract, a portion of which students said they found in a university Dumpster. …
She repeatedly referenced Ronald Reagan’s optimism. She said she felt a kinship with the farmers in the room because she’s the owner of a family fishing business.
She called for a return to common sense in the country and took President Obama to task for what she sees as soft views on the war on terror and immigration.
“We must embrace our entrepreneurial drive, and allow America to remain the world’s standard-bearer for excellence,” she said.
Palin took a shot at those who have launched an investigation into the finances of the university’s nonprofit foundation in response to her confidential contract.
“Attorney General Jerry Brown and friends, this is California, do you really not have anything better to do?”

  8. Noelie says:

Guest: if Sarah has nothing to say, why are you Jumbo and the other clueless wanderer of the irrelevant left here discussing her? I swear you are the silliest people ever, to be wandering site to site, discussing at length how conservatives are irrelevant. Do you not have ANYTHING to do ANYWHERE? Surely the ridiculous mob at daily Kos are missing such “wit” a yours.

  9. Guest says:

Noelie: whoops, you totally got my number! There’s no way I could be a conservative with a different opinion than yours, right? And if I point out the obvious demerits of a blatantly fraudulent “conservative” like Palin, that must mean that I’m a “Leftard”, because all “conservative” politicians stand for the same principles, and they all speak for all conservatives everywhere. Remind me never to tangle with a genius like you again, ok? I keep forgetting that being a conservative means agreeing with whatever Fox News wants me to believe.

  10. Sissy Willis says:

Guest: Your adolescent whining suggests you are among our friends on the left side of the aisle. Hmmm.

  11. Jimbo says:

NOELIE: When I write about Sarah Palin, I don’t write about Sarah Palin – I write about her dimwtted believers, probably you. The dimwits who give her any credit, credence, or support are merely showing the planet just how little they think of themselves.
Here you have a woman who has no skills (except possible ones her dopey husband appreciates), no experience (quitting half way through a term is quitting folks – I thought conservatives were people of their word), no education to speak of, no accomplishments while in office (except ethics complaints), No interest in her state or its citizens, no inner fire to do anything (except join the wingnut welfare circuit – like Liz Cheney). This woman has absolutely no reason to be anywhere near a microphone or an audience – but here she is. Spreading lies and unfinished thoughts to the uninformed masses of God fearing, social security taking, something for nothing crowd of ‘real americans’.
It makes me sad that a small part of this country looks to the made-up media people for the answers to our problems – problems started under another conservative administration. You do, however, seem to always vote against your very own interests – Party over family, I guess.
As I said: Please reach for higher goals than Sister Sarah has. Please climb taller peaks and strive for greatness – everyday. The country will survive the Fox dimwit club – as it has always survived the lazy underbelly of our population. America needs you more than Sarah Palin does. She only wants your money. America needs you clear headed and sane.

  12. Guest says:

Sissy: your sidestepping of my argument suggests you’ve got nothing to say. So why post? Hmmmm.

  13. SDN says:

Only made up media is the Lamestream Media you worship, Jimbo.

  14. Bordo says:

Sarah Palin is just a very dumb woman. Period. She lacks any kind of intellectual curiosity or vigor. She’s a rube in expensive glasses. . .a classic snowbilly. This isn’t to say she isn’t cunning, in the ways of a grifter or conwoman. Only the truly hopeless and hapless of the right see something of value in her beyond her ability to make millions. She holds you folks in contempt. She can’t even take the time to write and deliver a reasonably cogent speech, something the average 8th-grader can master. That’s how little she thinks of you.
She’s never going to run for elective office again, folks, and thank God. She’d probably quit about halfway through whatever term she sought. Plus, she loves the money and the attention her fellow rubes lavish on her. It would be a severe pay cut for her to ever be a serious political candidate again.
