McCain’s Shameful Irresponsibility On Illegal Immigration
I see others are laughing at McCain's illegal immigration ad I mocked the other day. Michelle Malkin calls it desperation. It's that and worse. John McCain has been in Washington for freaking ever. He was supposed to be representing Arizona. But when people in Arizona and across the country were calling for a secure Southern border, he ridiculed them. Then he jumped in bed with Ted Kennedy to play politics on comprehensive reform no one wanted, because we know we can't trust DC on the enforcement angle.
McCain should be apologizing to Arizona, not engaging in weak attempts to make the issue his own, now. He's a big part of the problem and wasn't interested in being part of a real solution when it was needed, because he was positioning himself to run for President in 2008.
McCain is the worst kind of joke on this issue, an old and a sad one. And he needs to be retired in 2008.
John McCain is everywhere now preaching the gospel of secure borders. He’s inescapable. And shameless. And desperate.
Yesterday, readers forwarded his latest spam e-mail:

The REALLY irritating thing about this is, even those who KNOW McCain is just pitiful on this subject are asking him for his opinion on this. He was on Hannity just last night. And MAN did he get pissed when Hannity asked him about his previous stance.
Folks, I just don’t get it. Why are people asking him about this issue? The man was an amnesty believer when Bush tried to pass his immigration reform crud, and as far as I’m concerned, the only reason he’s even attempting to be hardline on illegal immigration now is because he’s got J.D. Hayworth breathing down his neck.
Sen. McCain has served his time in Congress, it’s time for him to retire and move on. Thank you for your service to this country, sir, but go HOME and enjoy your retirement. Quit dragging your feet on this one. Your limp noodle campaign put Obama in office and the best thing you can do to help us prevent Obama and his gang from completely destroying this country would be to retire and let someone who really, REALLY believes in protecting this country from illegal immigration and fighting against socialism and liberal insanity take over.
Is Hayworth that person? I’m not sure, yet. But he can’t be much worse that McCain on immigration. And I don’t think he’d be quite so willing to jump across the aisle and brown-nose the lefties in Congress for a good write up in the New York Slimes, either.
I don’t know if he is desperate or not, thus far not a single poll has Hayworth ahead.
Conservatives were upset with McCain on his stance on immigration, he stated that he got the message and they are upset that he changed the stance they said they did not like.
I don’t think McCain has any intention of doing Obama any real favors on immigration. Back in 2006, Obama put certain poison pills in the legislation that McCain supported. Obama and other Democrats, including my own Senator Bayh said the bill was too hard on immigrants.
I heard McCain say he got the message on border security. I think people who support this issue should be glad of support wherever they get it and stop complaining when people come over to their side.
BTW, thanks to the steps taken by Bush, illegal immigration is half what it was 3 years ago, there are hundreds of miles of fence on that border and twice as many people are leaving the country. That is not enough, especially in Arizona, but it is a lot more than any other American president has done in his tenure. I am just hoping Obama does not go the other way.
I wish I believed John McCain had really changed his mind. Personally I do not. I just believe he wants another term in the senate. If elected he will do nothing to secure the borders. Those in Arizona who are believing him now will get what they deserve if they elect this man again. Unfortunately since he is not a local politician all the rest of us will suffer with them. And Sarah Palin did not help matters. She did not have to endorse him. Wake up Arizona.

OUR FOUNDER loved McCain.
After watching McCain’s lame youtube I gave Hayworth 50 bucks.
