Pentagon Shooter: Truther And UCSF / Berkeley Lib?
I started looking into any background on Pentagon shooter John Patrick Badell a couple of hours ago. But didn't have the time to follow through. At the time I did find this linking him to UCSF. But I had to move on to other things.

would like to know which MOSIS processes support an open layer of exposed Si substrate for this etching. More generally, I'd really like to get
detailed cross-sections and layer thicknesses for CMOS processes available through MOSIS. Does anyone know where this information might be available?

I’ll take a stab at why we are seeing so many Left wing nutcases resorting to violence these days. During the Bush years the hate reached a level never before seen in this county. But haters were the “in club”. They had the media on their side and in their view, they were the majority. Along came hope and change. Obama was going to lead the masses out of the desert. The Lefties were giddy at the thought of the Utopia that they and their Messiah were going to create. What happened? Obama kept the majority of the Bush policies that the Left hated the most and strengthened several provisions of the Patriot Act. The (more) unbalanced Lefties feel betrayed and called to action. I think we will see more acts of violence by the Left and more denial of the Left’s culpability by the MSM.

Everything humans perceive is processed through their understanding of their environment, including political beliefs. Do you believe you’re an exception to this? You may believe yourself as above the human experience – the tone of your posting certainly points to a superiority complex – but your posting is as much a result of your ideological political beliefs as anyone else’s. My personal beliefs were not in play here, I didn’t attack innocent people at the Pentagon. What are you talking about here? Do you know the shooter? If you do, I’d love to hear your impressions. It is likely – although by no means confirmed – that the shooter chose the Pentagon as his target based on his “ideological political beliefs.” This blog is commentary on a criminal act that occurred, of course, after the fact. What does anyone’s “ideological political beliefs” have to do with the criminal act he perpetrated?

Nope, I don’t wonder at all why we’re in the shape we’re in. We are living out the warnings of de Toqueville and Rand. We’ve gone past the point where those who can take are considered more virtuous than those who produce. We have demeaned the term “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” by taking from those who contribute and giving to those who consume but provide nothing in return. We live in a country where placing our children in crushing debt is virtuous but citing basic Constitutional liberties is considered subversive. Change is coming. It only remains to be seen the form it takes.

jim ryan……how do you know about a person’s motives? More guess work, psycho babble and speculations. No one knows what is in someone’s hearts, and even for this person, there are innocents who are hurt, including his family, potential victims, folks who witness this tragedy, etc… No one willingly wakes up in the morning and decides to become a mass shooter or murderer. Who knows what demons this man was chasing, and what demons were chasing him. We should pray and be thankful for each blessed day we wake up too.

Have faith. There are many, many John Galts among us. And soon, Mr. Obama and the entire, corrupt, left-wing political class will hear all of us shrug. It won’t be pretty.
After all, Jimmy Carter’s similarly naive and incompetent “leadership” led the Country to the brilliance of Ronald Reagan. Bill Clinton’s massive attempt at government overreach and suppression of personal liberties gave us the 1994 Gingrich revolution. This time, though, we can’t replace one group of career politicians with another group of career politicians. Americans of every stripe, background, color and creed need to come forward, serve their country for a brief period and return to private life.
I propose two Constitutional Amendments: 1. Balanced budget, and, 2. Term limits. If we could enact just those two (!), we could largely preserve liberty and prospertity. These two will cause massive heartburn on the left where taking liberty, prosperity and freedom are the essential goals to controlling society.

I agree that we haven’t been a Constitutional Republic for a very long time, but I would put it closer to 1803 than 1861 (1864?).
But, recognition that we’ve gone far afield from the intended form of governance doesn’t mean either that we have completely abandoned it or that we should, rather that we should fight all the stronger to hold on to that which remains.
The guy was heavy in technology. My guess is that he wasn’t left wing at all but a conspiracy theory libertarian. Some of those guys are very anti-government, anti-war, ati-Bush, anti-Obama etc.
