Media Mutters Chimes In!

By
March 12, 2010

Well, that didn't take long for Media Mutters to link. I wish I knew those babies way back when. I'd have taken a coat hanger to them! I guess that's more their style. Still, they front for the bastards that will allow our loved ones to die at 69, or 70 because it costs too much to save, or care for them.

These people have no principles. They have no right to take exception to my post. You can not advocate killing children to save money while allowing severely injured 69 year-old people to live. The actuarial argument actually benefits the young. Unless, of course, they figure it will be mostly poor black and hispanics, so what the hell!!

Within ten-years they will be doing precisely what I suggested for Reid's wife. It's their shame they are linking, not my own! Make them choke on it!

  1. Nimed says:

Oh, the faux outrage. It’s not like your secretly thanking J.C. someone linked your dimwitted posts.

  2. Kensington says:

Oy, the first two dummies commenting over there don’t get it at all.
I don’t understand the nature of their objections. They advocate a system of healthcare that will devalue life to the point where old and young alike will suffer under the coming Utopia, yet you’re a scumbag for putting a human face on it.
They’re ripping you for not respecting life, yet the net result of what they would do is devalued life on a scale never before seen in this country. The denial is striking and unhealthy.

“They advocate a system of healthcare that will devalue life to the point where old and young alike will suffer under the coming Utopia”
I take it you’re one of those people who believe Stephen Hawking wouldn’t be alive today if left to the care of the evil NHS.
What makes the whole post not only abject and petty, but above all ridiculous on its face, is not that 69 year-old with broken backs and necks will not be left to die as a consequence of Obamacare. The ridiculous part comes from the virtual absence of health care systems in the developed world where anything resembling such policy exists.
Riehl is, of course, counting on the consummate ignorance of its readers to make such a mendacious argument. Looks like he knows his audience.

  4. Nimed says:

Jesus, this place doesn’t even support basic HTML tags? It’s worse than I thought.

  5. Kensington says:

Sounds great, Nimed. Perhaps you could have a word with our president, Barack “Pain Pills” Obama.
I’m afraid he let the truth slip out awhile back about where they want to go with all this, though.

  6. Jim Ryan says:

Only in the UK does rationing kill. It would never happen here!

  7. LTW says:

Media Matters…you’ve been Riehled in. Flip flop. Easy fishing, Dan.

I don’t know what to tell you. Surely you don’t disagree that the bill currently on the table will not get even close to, say, a single payer system. And in single payer systems, or systems much more heavily subsidized than ours will be should Obamacare pass, there simply is no 69 year-old ladies that are left to die from a broken neck or back. So yeah, I think the whole post is dishonest.
The funny thing is, there’s plenty of stuff worthy of criticism in Obamacare without going down this road. But this isn’t one of them. The attack on Harry Reid is cheap.

  9. Nimed says:

    stubby
1- The case you linked has absolutely nothing to do with Harry Reid’s wife and daughter. The NHS would assist them. More to the point, if the current bill passes, they would be assisted.
2- It’s absurd to presume that, under our current system, there’s no cost considerations whatsoever. Both insurance companies and Medicare already deny care, if the treatments are expensive and the probability of survival is very small.
3- Our perinatal mortality (which, unlike infant mortality, is a comparable measure to other OECD countries) is higher than most developed countries.
4- I’m sure you are aware that you can pick and choose horror stories from just about any health care system in the world, including ours. That’s why it’s more productive to discuss health statistics.

  10. DaveinPhoenix says:

So what’s the next step from these nation destroyers ? Mandatory birth control ? Limits on family size ? Maybe even more taxes on additional children ? Death camps ? These GD evil creeps need to go. These people are actually evil. I’m now convinced of that. The results in November won’t be good enough for me. Handcuffs and life in prison for these evil people.

  11. Warren Bonesteel says:

Ya, Nimed. Most of Hawking’s support systems were privately donated. Early on, a few of those systems were specially designed for him…and then privately donated to him. Without that private support, he’d a been dead a long time ago.
…is time to play Heather Alexander’s “March of Cambreadth,” yet?
Seems as if everyone’s ready to break out the weapons and have a go at one another. I figger we just as well start the sound track…

  12. Nimed says:

    Warren Bonesteel
Do you have a link for those private donations? More importantly, do you have a source that shows that “Without that private support, he’d a been dead a long time ago”?

    DaveinPhoenix said:
“So what’s the next step from these nation destroyers ? Mandatory birth control ? Limits on family size ? Maybe even more taxes on additional children ? Death camps ?”
This is just crazy. How can anyone possibly believe this? None of this stuff happens in developed countries in which the government is far more deep into the health care system than we will be under the current bill.

  14. “Stephen Hawking: I would not be alive without the NHS”
Of course. Members of the nomenklatura in the Soviet Union got decent health care as well.
The rest of the people? This.

She has no business driving anyway and if the TRUTH BE TOLD …she was probably driving too slow and the semi came up on her quickly before he realized there was some stupid women driving that could not read the min. speed limit signs.
Enough …Just keep em steaming DAN. Turn it up a notch or two. Give em a taste of their own medicine. A double dose. :O)

  16. “Surely you don’t disagree that the bill currently on the table will not get even close to, say, a single payer system.”
Doesn’t matter. The point of the bill, as the lying Obama has made clear, is to implement single-payer.
    http://hotair.com/archives/2010/03/04/obama-comforts-house-liberals-dont-worry-this-bill-is-just-the-beginning-of-what-well-do-with-health-care/
    Next:
“It’s absurd to presume that, under our current system, there’s no cost considerations whatsoever.”
But, according to the previous rantings of the lying Obama, there would be no cost-cutting or denial of care for anyone. The flat-out statements of the Obama Party that they will push abortion because it’s cheaper demonstrate again the lies to which the Obama Party and Barack Obama are addicted.
“Our perinatal mortality (which, unlike infant mortality, is a comparable measure to other OECD countries) is higher than most developed countries.”
Oh good. Provide a link — and, more specifically, the definition of perinatal mortality for each country, since it differs between them.
Or, if you can’t do that, send a nasty letter to your Obama Party propaganda handler for giving you talking points that made you look like an idiot.

  17. Warren Bonesteel says:

Ah, Nimed. You poor thing. You didn’t actually think I’d say it if it weren’t true, did you? The quote you used was in regards to a recent illness he suffered and in response to an editorial by the IBD. Without care provided by a local hospital, he certainly would have died.
It was not in regards to the various and sundry equipment and other support he’s gotten over the years, including corporate and private grants above and beyond his income and benefits from the very university that employees him. As for the Brit’s national health care system, do you really think they wouldn’t offer him their best? (A bit like the difference between Walter Reed and a VA Health clinic in a flyover state, that.)
The first speech synthesizer he used was donated. Much of the personalized health care he has received, especially early in his career, was by volunteers. The computer that powers his speech synthesizer is donated by Intel…a new one every year or so. IIRC, the first speech synthesizer he ever used was also a donation from Intel. The question to ask, really, is why has the professor survived as long as he has with ALS, when most others die within five years of diagnosis?

  18. southdakotaboy says:

God it is funny to watch the left go ape when you throw their own tactics back at them!
This is what we need more of. The left is made up of bullies and the only thing a bully understands is a good punch in the nose.
We need to start playing hardball with these lefty scum bags. We need to take a page from our history and run the leftie libs out of this country just like the Loyalists where run out when the Revolution was over. Send all the S.O.B.’s off with just the cloths on their backs. Let them paddle home made boats to Cuba.

  19. Nimed says:

I’m undecided on what’s more asinine: comparing that the rest of the developed world to the Soviet Union, or claiming that Stephen Hawking, who was a college student when he began experiencing the first serious symptoms of his disease, is a “member of the nomenklatura”.
As to the rest of your arguments:
    - tens of thousand of people die every year in the US from simple lack of insurance; thousand more have health care denied by insurance companies. The NORMAL functioning of our system is far worse than UK’s worst scandals;
    - the Cuba link is as absurd as the Soviet Union point and the “OH MY GOD THE COMMIES ARE COMING” hysteria in general;
    - the country to where most people travel to seek treatment is India by far, not the US. By your own reasoning, I guess we should adopt India’s health care system, hu?
You go on and on about what Obama said, instead of, you know, actually discussing what’s in the bill (hint: not a single payer system). Denial of care will be no greater than what it is now – but it exists now, which was my point. And it is a pretty trivial one: the government obviously cannot afford to pay for every $2 million experimental cancer treatment with a 3% chance of survival. It doesn’t do it NOW. Neither do insurance companies.
Here is a 2006 WHO report:
    http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&ved=0CAYQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwhqlibdoc.who.int%2Fpublications%2F2006%2F9241563206_eng.pdf&ei=IDibS_29HMGB8gaQxr37DQ&usg=AFQjCNFGNacJllyyVTLLQRc6tEZD8h_gUA&sig2=OHC1fJrd9PxJrnfb_rsZjA
Have a blast. Perinatal mortality estimates by country are in Annex 1. Almost all Western European nations, plus Canada, have lower perinatal mortality rates than the US. It goes without saying, they all spend a lot less on health care than we do.
All this, by the way, has nothing to do with the main discussion – Riehl’s false and quite repulsive statements concerning the putative absence of treatment of Reid’s wife and daughter, and similar cases, under the new health care bill.
It seems that apart from Riehl nobody is actually shameless enough to claim that, under Obamacare, they wouldn’t be treated.

  20. David R. Graham says:

Dan, thanks for the post that started this truth-telling, this process of revelation. I am very deeply grateful.
Regine Pernoud closes her seminal *The Templars: Knights of Christ* with this sentence:
“It is clear today that no totalitarian power can ever make allowance for a spiritual power [read truth, consciousness and/or bliss] by which some part of man resists its domination; people have clearly perceived this, in our own day, and to deal with it they have invented interminable internment and brain-washing.”
She refers there to more than greed as motivation of the French King and the Pope in suppressing the Templars. The *more* was “the tendency to absolutism, to ‘totalitarian’ power” that showed itself earlier in Frederick II of Hohenstaufen and later in Francis I and Louis XIV of France and more recently in seemingly endless efforts on behalf of statism under the flag of some ideology advertised as a “science.”
She points out that totalitarianism flourishes in and relies upon hegemonistic secularism, whether in the guise of “religion” or of “science,” suppressing spirit.
With respect to this despot occupying the White House, it is called variously “narcissism,” “ego,” “power-grabbing, etc. All accurate descriptions, but the summation description is “totalitarianism.” Totalitarianism is the “remaking of America” that has been and is being patently promoted. The guy and her/his supports (the uber-rich and uber-secure in school and media) haven’t been reticent at all about their intent or goals. It’s all been clear from the beginnings on the national stage in 2007 or even earlier.
Mother Theresa, I believe it was, who pointed out, truly, that until the horror of abortion is unthinkable, society cannot be happy.
I am deeply grateful for who you are and what you are doing! May the Grace of God continue as your guide, is my wish and blessing.

  21. skwiself says:

Oddly enough, checking up on your claim that more medical tourism goes to India than to the US reveals that evidence of your claim is rather hard to find… although evidence that medical tourism numbers have been overstated aren’t.
    Oh, wait…
    http://www.upi.com/Science_News/2008/05/06/Report-Medical-tourism-numbers-overstated/UPI-54581210128405/
As of 2008 the US had around 40% of the medical tourism market, and India somewhat south of 10% (just guessing, the only numbers I’ve seen were for 2006. When they had 2% of the market. In terms of money, not amount of patients.
    http://www.indianhealthcare.in/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&catid=131&id=168&start=2
So that would really be quite an amazing turnaround for India and precipitous decline for the US. Rather unbelievable actually.
Not saying that the rest of your comment should be ignored because you’re playing fast and loose with one of your little factoids – oh who’s kidding of course I am.

  22. “I’m undecided on what’s more asinine: comparing that the rest of the developed world to the Soviet Union, or claiming that Stephen Hawking, who was a college student when he began experiencing the first serious symptoms of his disease, is a “member of the nomenklatura”.
LOL….are you seriously trying to argue that Stephen Hawking does not get special treatment compared to your run-of-the-mill citizen?
Furthermore, I notice you didn’t bother to confront the evidence of that treatment of non-nomenklatura in the UK.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1253438/Mid-Staffordshire-NHS-hospital-routinely-neglected-patients.html
And then we go over into the realm of the ludicrous.
“tens of thousand of people die every year in the US from simple lack of insurance”
Oh, that’s right, because no one who has health insurance ever dies. According to liberals and Barack Obama, nothing ever causes death other than lack of health insurance.
Next attempt by the Obama shill:
“Perinatal mortality estimates by country are in Annex 1.”
Pity you didn’t actually read before quoting, given what is elsewhere in the document.
“Perinatal mortality has been estimated for 1983 (48), 1995 (3) and recently for 2000; neonatal mortality has previously been estimated only for 1995 (3). Over time, different methods have been used to derive these estimates, regions have changed and data have become more abundant. While estimates should generally be considered discrete events, particularly at the individual country level, it is possible to make some cautious comparisons at regional level, avoiding a fixation with numbers and just looking at the overall trend. A somewhat higher or lower rate in the current round of estimates could, therefore, either indicate stagnation or merely reflect better data and estimates.”
See that? Cross-country comparisons are not a good idea BECAUSE COUNTRIES USE DIFFERENT DEFINITIONS — and those definitions have changed over time. You’re comparing apples to oranges, peaches, kumquats, and pears.
Next, this truly demonstrated the duplicity of Obama supporters such as yourself.
“And it is a pretty trivial one: the government obviously cannot afford to pay for every $2 million experimental cancer treatment with a 3% chance of survival. It doesn’t do it NOW. Neither do insurance companies.”
But you and your screaming Obama Party have stated that ANY denial of care or refusal to pay is amoral and akin to murder.
So you attack insurance companies as murderers, but then try to spin and explain that it’s all right for the government to murder citizens.
    Finally:
It seems that apart from Riehl nobody is actually shameless enough to claim that, under Obamacare, they wouldn’t be treated.
Oh, the wife and daughter of the Marxist party officials were always treated.
But under Obamacare, another 69-year-old woman without the political connections wouldn’t be treated. She’d end up like those in the UK hospitals that you so admire.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1253438/Mid-Staffordshire-NHS-hospital-routinely-neglected-patients.html

  23. Now, skwiself, we can’t expect a follower of Barack Obama or the Obama Party to trouble himself or herself with facts. The only thing they are intelligent enough to understand is that Barack Obama is their better and must be obeyed at all costs. Barack Obama is never wrong, and anyone who dares criticize him does so out of racism. Hallowed be Barack Obama’s name.
It started out as pathetic, but now it’s just made its way to hilarious. The Obama addicts like Nimed are showing why they aren’t fit to run a 7-11, much less the country.

Please read about Breitbart’s opening salvo against John Podesta and Media Matters.
This is not paranoia. Media Matters, a Soros outfit, is hiring “interns” to come on conservative forums and try to sow division, slow down momentum, forment confusion. And they are better at it than they used to be. They don’t curse and swear like liberals on their own forums do.

  25. Kaitian says:

What’s funny about Reid is that he’s a hypocrite. He’s mormon so he naturally won’t pull the plug but demands that others who are not mormons pull the plug. Before you go bashing me, I was raised mormon and go to a mormon university (BYU-Idaho). Hell, Dan can even look up my IP address and confirm that I’m in Rexburg, Idaho. :)

  26. Warren Bonesteel says:

Ah, shoot, Lala. Soros is at it again….
Here I was, thinking that Dan had found a love connection with Nimed…
While I wish I had some of his money, Soros and his friends at the IMF and in the Big Four never thought that an uneducated redneck in a flyover state knew anything about infowar or memetics. Their arrogance has been their undoing in more ways than one.
When chaos is coming, how do you change the outcome from global tyranny to one of global freedom? If war, civil war, regional conflicts and strife cannot be prevented, how do you redirect the outcomes of such conflicts? How do you re-write the social contracts that have been in place for more than a century both nationally and internationally? How do you change the power and control – ‘red in tooth and claw’ – structures underlying our social contracts?
With few resources, it takes time, patience, a bit of intelligence, an internet connection and a very broad knowledge base…and I’ve been at it for over a decade.
All that men like Soros or Obama can do at this point in time is to cause more death and destruction than is necessary. They cannot change the outcome. They cannot win. Tyranny and fascism in all of their forms will utterly fail within the next five to ten years.
Hint: Whether Soros or Dick Armey, G.W. Bush or President Obama, or the local city council, always follow the money…wherever it leads. Then find a way to set them all at complete odds with one another…while you slowly convince individuals at the grass roots level that they have something to contribute, that they have value to offer to others.
People such as Nimed, whether left or right, offer little of value and seek only power and control over others, which only leads to destruction of all that they claim to value.
Learn to place the same value on others that you place upon yourselves and the world will be a better place…but that memeplex won’t be complete for another five to ten years.
So, destruction is upon us. The early stages should begin later this year, nlt next spring. Complete collapse of ‘the world as we know it’ will be complete within 3-5 years. Then, we get to build anew.

  27. Joe Blow says:

Well Dan, look on the bright side.
If we do get nationalized medicine here, by the time the death panels are up and running, they’ll probably have to ration death too. Them shots is expensive.

  29. dave in dallas says:

    NEVER FORGET,

“we can’t afford the best medical care to keep you going for the last year or two of your life, so we want you to die and save the money”….
this was among other things he ‘admitted’ to the students, while making the point that politicians can’t tell the truth and still get elected.
REICH WAS RIGHT. They DO want sick old people to die to save the money for the young. It’s called the complete lives plan, written by the brother of Rahm Emmanuel in 2008, apportioning medical dollars based on amount of life left.
Reid’s wife has little life left and big medical bills.
KILL HER NOW, democrats, and be CONSISTENT!!!!!!!!!!!! Let us know you’re serious about Zeke Emmanuel’s COMPLETE LIVES PLAN… she’s lived a long time and will be nothing but an expense for the next several years… BUMP HER OFF! SAVE THE PUBLIC FUNDS!

Set it up so only registered Democrats and illegals can use the system and then mold it to your hearts content. Use that as your model for “national health care” and then come back after 10 years and show us how well it has run. They have the money to do it, go ahead and push them. It may relieve George’s guilt for all the bad he has done in life.
Also, I love how leftards love to say thousands die from lack of insurance. Then they drag out that little boy as a prop, who says his mother died from pulmonary hypertension because of losing her healthcare. Of course she would have died even if she had insurance. Never mind that she still got hospital care even though she did not have insurance. That little bit about hospitals can’t refuse care based on ability to pay.
Guy gets into a car accident and gets his head chopped off, or a thug guns down dead an innocent during a robbery attempt. Deceased victims have no insurance, but those stats get added to the overall figures that libs love to trot out, even though lack of insurance played squat in the roll of the death of the victim.

Although the Senate-passed bill also forbids annual limits, it would permit lifetime limits in existing insurance plans by “grandfathering” those policies while forbidding new plans from establishing them.”
    It also outlaws recission.

  44. Kaitian says:

What they can be denied, and for perfectly good reasons, is insurance coverage. If you have a horrible driving record, insurance companies should not be forced to cover you or charge you the same amount as those with safe driving records. Same goes for health insurance.
The problem here is that Obama and the Obama liberals don’t want to take responsibility for their actions. They don’t want to pay their bills. They want other people to give them everything without their having to lift a finger.
Someone like Obama who chooses to smoke, abuses alcohol and illegal drugs, and has promiscuous sex with prostitutes should not pay the same rate as someone who avoids all of those things, eats right, and exercises. ObamaCare punishes people who do the right things so that lazy, shiftless, irresponsible liberals like Obama don’t have to pay their bills.

  49. See, it’s okay to foist upon an unwilling public any horrid thing as long as you don’t ever, ever actually admit to its horrors. Talk around it, have a coffee-house kum-bah-yah session about how beautiful Carousel is, promote it as “for the children” and “cost-effective” (which is evil! Just ask any Hollywood Screenwriter how evil “cost-effective measures” taken by Corporate Demons are!)
Just don’t say it. Just don’t say what Leftist idealism actually means and it’s happy day. Carousel! Go! Go!
Dan dared to take the Bean-Baggers at their word and somehow he’s unpopular with them.
Judging by the reaction, I’d say you hit your target squarely on their proud chins, Dan.
No one, not one single person actually and truthfully believes that Dan is wishing evil on Mrs. Reid. Not even the commenters here believe it. It’s just useful for their ends. Which are still horrid.

Cigna’s rejection on December 11 led Sarkisyan’s doctors at the UCLA medical center, including the head of its transplant unit, to write a letter to protest that the treatment proposed was neither experimental nor unproven and called on Cigna to urgently review its decision.
Cigna HealthCare refused to pay for treatment[when?], citing policy provisions which do not cover services considered experimental, investigational and/or unproven to be safe and/or effective for the patient.[2]

Two of the state’s largest health plans agreed Thursday to reinstate coverage to nearly 1,200 patients whose policies were dropped after they incurred high medical expenses.
Under the deal, patients whose insurance was rescinded by Kaiser Permanente or Health Net since 2004 will be allowed to purchase new insurance regardless of preexisting medical conditions.

Woodland Hills insurer Health Net has agreed to pay as much as $14 million to settle a pair of lawsuits brought on behalf of 800 former policyholders whose coverage was dropped after they submitted substantial medical bills.
One of California’s largest for-profit insurers stopped a controversial practice of canceling sick policyholders Friday after a judge ordered Health Net Inc. to pay more than $9 million to a breast cancer patient it dropped in the middle of chemotherapy.

The South Carolina Supreme Court has unanimously awarded $10 million in punitive damages to a young man living with HIV whose coverage was retroactively rescinded by his health insurer after he filed his first HIV-related claim. The September 14 ruling, calling the insurance company’s behavior in the matter “reprehensible,” also affirmed an award of $150,000 in actual damages for bad faith breach of contract. Mitchell v. Fortis Insurance Company, Opinion No. 26718, 2009 Westlaw 2948558 (South Carolina Supreme Ct., September 14, 2009).
    ***********
In Febuary 2008, a private arbitration judge in Los Angeles ordered Health Net Inc. to pay more than $9 million to a breast cancer patient whose health insurance it revoked shortly after her diagnosis and while she was undergoing chemotherapy. The plaintiff in that case, Patsy Bates, a then-52-year-old grandmother and hair-salon owner, was unable to continue her chemotherapy for several months. During the case, evidence emerged that Health Net had paid bonuses to employees to reward them based on the number of policyholders they had rescinded. The judge who awarded Bates the $9 million said in his decision: “It’s difficult to imagine a policy more reprehensible than tying bonuses to encourage the rescission of health insurance that keeps the public well and alive.”

  56. “Really?
“Executives of three of the nation’s largest health insurers told federal lawmakers in Washington on Tuesday that they would continue canceling medical coverage”
And again, the foolish Obama talking points repeater demonstrates that they don’t know what they’re talking about.
Health CARE is the actual receipt of services from a medical provider. Health INSURANCE is an agreement that you enter into in advance and pay premiums for so that if you NEED medical services, you don’t have to pay out of pocket at that point in time.
Your logic makes no more sense than arguing that you can’t get your car fixed unless you have insurance. You most certainly can get your car fixed; you just have to pay for it yourself.
And therein lies the problem. Welfare addicts like yourself who have never paid a bill in your entire life are upset that you might actually have to pay for your health care. Hence, you’re trying to force other people to pay it for you by perverting the insurance system.
Furthermore, you’re insisting that, even though you smoke, drink, use illegal drugs, and have promiscuous sex with prostitutes, you shouldn’t have to pay more for health insurance than people who avoid all of those things, even though you’re quite obviously going to need much more health care than they will. You and your fellow Obama Party idiots are arguing the equivalent of saying that reckless, dangerous individuals who drive drunk shouldn’t have to pay more for insurance coverage than those who drive safely and sober.
Finally, Obama has admitted that he smokes, drinks, uses illegal drugs, and has promiscuous sex. The fact that you don’t want to acknowledge it is not our problem.

  57. ODS Cured says:

You apparently have a comprehension problem. Let’s take it one step at a time. It’s not that complicated.
    1. Those people applied for and secured health insurance, following all rules of disclosure, etc.
    2. They got sick while covered by that insurance.
    3. Their insurer then refused to pay their medical bills.
    4. The insurers were later found guilty of illegally refusing to pay those bills.
Got it or is that still too complex for you?

  58. Ah, but you see, Obama talking points repeater, here’s your problem.
    1) These people were never denied CARE — they were only denied the mechanism they’d set up to pay for it. For example:
“Chief Justice Toal pointed out Mitchell’s financial vulnerability. Luckily for him, a free clinic provided him with medical services until he was able to get his coverage restored.”
So again, you’re simply lying when you state these people couldn’t get care.
    2) The fact that the insurers were found guilty means that LAWS ARE ALREADY IN PLACE TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM.
Again, this is all about welfare addicts like yourself getting someone else to pay your bills. Furthermore, it’s about you dodging the responsibility for your choices. You want to smoke, drink, use illegal drugs, and have promiscuous sex with prostitutes and pay the same rate as someone who does none of those things and actually tries to AVOID using the health care system.
Now, welfare addict, explain this; why should the cost of coverage be the same for people who choose to drink, smoke, use illegal drugs, and have sex with prostitutes, as for those who watch their health and avoid all of these things?
Do you have an answer for that? Are you and your black welfafr

  59. ODS Cured says:

Actually, they were denied care. That’s why Nataline Sarkisyan is dead — cause Cigna refused to cover the cost of her liver transplant. New Liver = Alive. No Liver = Dead.
Most of your post is just Making Sh** Up. Cost of coverage is not going to be the same for everyone. Just as now, there will be penalties for lifestyle choices.
“2) The fact that the insurers were found guilty means that LAWS ARE ALREADY IN PLACE TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM.”
See, we’re making progress. Just a couple posts ago you said no one was ever denied care.
And I’m sure for every case the insurers got caught on, there were many more they got by with.
Careful, you’re getting awful closing to sounding like a closeted racist.

  60. “Actually, they were denied care. That’s why Nataline Sarkisyan is dead — cause Cigna refused to cover the cost of her liver transplant. New Liver = Alive. No Liver = Dead.”
LOL….perhaps you ought to read your article, foolish talking points repeater.
    First thing:
“Dr. John Roberts, chief of the transplant service at UC San Francisco, said Cigna faced a difficult decision in the case, based on the facts presented by the UCLA team.
Roberts said his center generally will not accept a patient without a 50% chance of living five years. According to UCLA’s letter to Cigna, patients like Nataline had a 65% chance of living six months.”
In short, the transplant facilities didn’t even want to do the operation in the first place. Furthermore, had she been covered under current Obama Party endorsed solutions, she wouldn’t have been given a transplant; she would have been encouraged to commit suicide.
And she could have had the care — had her family been willing to pay for it.
“In the absence of a response from Cigna, doctors told the Sarkisyan family that the only alternative would be for the family to pay. But they could not afford the immediate down payment of $75,000 (£38,000).”
Guess their daughter wasn’t worth it to them. And of course, all the rich leftists who were whining about Cigna’s denial wouldn’t chip in a cent. Fat Michael Moore makes millions of dollars off his movies whining about “health care”, but he wouldn’t spend a dime to keep this girl alive. Was she worth more to you dead? Is that why Obama Party members wouldn’t give any money?
And here’s a bit of information for you too, silly talking points repeater.
“The mysterious part of the narrative is whether a liver was truly ready to be transplanted. If there was a liver, why was it held up? It’s not enough for the insurer to deny coverage. The doctors and the hospital–especially a nonprofit institution like UCLA–must decline to work for free.
“There have been occasions where UCLA has performed a transplant without compensation,” says Roxanne Moster, a spokeswoman for the hospital. She says, cryptically: “The physicians at UCLA Medical Center base decisions on the medical condition of the patient.” She also mentions that money is an issue with transplant patients because even if UCLA pays for the procedure, there is a lifetime of expensive aftercare.
A spokesman for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where Sarkisyan’s oncologist works, declined to comment.
That leaves a few possible interpretations: 1. There was never a liver. 2. There was one but the doctors were reluctant to transplant it without Cigna’s payment. 3. The doctors would have eventually done the transplant without payment, but in the meantime, the patient died. 4. The family did not want the transplant to go forward unless Cigna paid for it.
Cigna’s medical director Jeffrey Kang, a physician who used to be a high-ranking official with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, says there is no way that Cigna can stop doctors from performing a liver transplant. A national organization called the United Network for Organ Sharing manages the waiting lists. One of UNOS’ principles is that patients should get transplants regardless of their financial means. “Some people have said we denied a liver,” Kang says. “But the reality is we only denied paying for it.”"
    http://www.forbes.com/2008/01/08/sarkisyan-cancer-insurance-biz-healthcare-cz_dw_0107cigna.html
And do you know what UCLA is, silly talking points repeater?
    A GOVERNMENT-OWNED NONPROFIT HOSPITAL.
The government did not want to pay for this transplant. The government denied care to this girl because it would be too expensive. The government refused the transplant, EVEN THOUGH IT HAD DONE THEM BEFORE WITHOUT COMPENSATION.
So what do you say to that, talking points repeater? Your Obama Party, which controls California state government, denied care to this girl because it was too expensive.

  61. “Careful, you’re getting awful closing to sounding like a closeted racist.”
That’s interesting, coming from a supporter and endorser of real live racists.
“White and Kinney both testified Kilpatrick used the F-word in describing them while urging his security detail to get them off the porch. They said the mayor also made racial remarks about her and White.
“You’re a black woman,” Kinney quoted the mayor as telling her. “You should be ashamed of yourself being with a man with the last name white. You should not be a part of this.”
White is white. Kinney and Kilpatrick are black. “He was very, very angry,” Kinney told the court.”
But of course, since we know Obama and the Obama Party support this racist, it’s OK.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZNvC_-RW2Q
So that’s what makes you funny, ODS; you call other people racist, but then state that there’s nothing wrong with criminal behavior by black people and that black women should be ashamed to ride in cars with a white man.

  62. ODS Cure says:

Sounds like you’re Mr Death Panel. You find lots of reasons to let people die, not many to keep them alive. Go ahead and admit it – if it helps the bottomline, you’re all for letting ‘em die.

    That’s some great doublespeak. Hilarious.

  65. “Sounds like you’re Mr Death Panel. You find lots of reasons to let people die, not many to keep them alive. Go ahead and admit it – if it helps the bottomline, you’re all for letting ‘em die.”
Actually, as we’ve seen, that would be what your government-run and Obama-controlled “nonprofit” hospital did with Nataline Sarkisyan.
I have no problem reaching into my pocket and helping pay for these peoples’ medical care. It’s the right thing to do. But of course, lazy welfare addicts like yourself won’t pay a cent for other peoples’ care. Your Obama Party, for all its blathering, wouldn’t spend any tax dollars or private dollars to keep this girl alive.
And furthermore, Barack Obama completely supports and endorses rich hospitals dumping patients elsewhere and refusing to treat them.
    http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/03/michelle_obamas_patientdumping_1.html
But of course, you can’t answer that, since you aren’t intellectually or emotionally capable of criticizing Barack Obama, the Obama Party, or nationalized health care, so you turn to this.
“Little sensitive about that whole racist thing? You’re not one of those closeted gay guys filled with self-loathing?”
Like I said, being called “racist” by an Obama Party member means you’re telling the truth about them. Mike Nifong, for example, is a hero to the Obama Party and to Barack Obama, even though he’s clearly a lying racist. Same with Jesse Jackson, same with Al Sharpton, same with Charles Rangel. All of these people espouse the Obama Party credo that people should be judged by skin color alone and that character doesn’t matter.
And as to the last, I am openly gay. Have been for years. But the fact that you seem to think there’s something wrong with being gay demonstrates the inherent hatred and homophobia in the Obama Party and with liberals as a whole. The only gays who survive in the Obama Party are plantation gays who do exactly what the massas say.
Funny you went directly to closeted and self-loathing, though. Are you one of the Obama Party members who rapes and molests children? Do you sexually assault others, like Eric Massa?
