I'm not sure I quite understand this, given that cost is so important as a burden to taxpayers when it comes to health care. If Democrats want so badly to abort babies because of it, why are we bothering with someone who has a broken neck and back at 69? It sounds to me like she's pretty well used up and has probably been living off the taxpayers for plenty of years to begin with. Aren't we at least going to get a vote on it?
Sen. Reid's daughter Lana Reid Barringer, 48, who was driving the mini-van, and his wife, Landra G. Reid, 69, a passenger, were both injured. Landra suffered a broken back and a broken neck in the crash; Barringer suffered minor injuries, Sen. Reid's office said Thursday.
I realize her crook of a husband and his pals in Congress have excluded themselves from the mess they're going to compel everyone else to join, but we're still paying the bills, are we not? I don't see that she's worth it at this point, frankly. I can't recall her ever doing anything for me.
Come on, Harry – do your civic duty. The nation's broke and counting on you guy. Pull the plug and get back to work. And don't bill us for a full day today, either. This is no time to be sloughing off. Air freight her home, you can bury her during recess on your own time and dime. Or are you going to bill us for that, too?

You may have a more valid point than you realize. Fourteen years ago I was in a car accident and broke my back. I was in rehab for months. In addition to my GP I was seen regularly (weekly for the first four months) by an orthopedic, a neurologist and a physical therapist. I was on four different prescription drugs. Fortunately I had excellent insurance but I saw the bills and they were breathtaking. I doubt I would have been given the level of care I received if we had nationalized medicine and I was only thirty-eight at the time. No way in Hell that a 69 year old woman would receive that level of treatment under ObamaCare. She would be told to choose between “the red pill and the blue pill” and sent home to suffer.
Unless she happened to be a senator’s wife.
I don’t think a cost/analysis would be in her favor.

Mrs. Reid is old and will probably have some degree of disability. If she wasn’t married to a party apparatchik, what do you think Reid, Obama, and the Emanuels would advocate for her?

I wrote to my senators and representatives and asked if Mrs. Reid and Daughter Reid are getting any health care beyond what they would have received as ordinary Obamacare recipients.
I also told my senators and representatives to vote no on Obamacare unless they are willing to commit themselves and their families to receiving Obamacare and nothing more for their health problems.
I am guessing this ensures 3 “no” votes.

Harry Reid played a role in making it possible for the government to kill Terri Schiavo. It’s now time for him to suffer in the same way that Terri Schiavo’s family did.
Pro-lifers should support Reid’s wife’s right to death because Reid believed that Terri Schiavo had a right to death. Those in favor of life can use this as a teaching moment to show others how compassionate one should be.
When loved ones are in tremendous pain and are faced with a decision to finish life depending on machines, there is a careful consideration that must be made. If one has been pro-abortion, pro-death up to this point, one must have the courage to kill members of his family and live the code he has traditionally forced others to follow.
Of course let’s not forget — Reid would probably be using taxpayer money to keep his wife alive. This cannot be allowed. If we let politicians use taxpayer money to keep their family members breathing, the next thing you know they will be paying for elective surgeries with money that belongs to us and not them.

I do have to live with obama health scare because I am a disabled veteran. It does not work for many reasons.
1. The doctors do NOT have to care if they help you with your problem or not.
2. The doctors are the ones that decide what kind of treatment you get, point in case ME: half crippled from chronic arthritis, their idea of healing me PAIN KILLERS BY THE HUNDREDS, does that help my pain not after the first 10 pills.
3. The doctors can and do deny you medical care necessary to lower your pain level, case in point ME: both hips need to be replaced, calcium spurs in my right knee, their idea of helping me: WALK WITH A CANE STUPID.
Harry Reid doesn’t give a fine goddamn about your knees or your needs, rugly. Personal anecdotes are only for the Left’s agenda, so just go grab a cane and quit whining. Wow…and here I am thinking, this could be tragic and the only tragdey is the lack of education the author has.
Reid’s wife was never in danger of a quadriplegic situation or in any real danger of a change in her quality of life. Spinal fractures are quite common in older men and women because of weakened bones. The majority of older individuals who have small compression fractures don’t know that the fractures exist for a long time unless there’s a reason for an x-ray. They don’t complain of pain or compromised bodily functions because the majority of compression fractures in the spine do not result in spinal instability.
So what this comes down to it that Reid’s wife could have had surgery or been in a brace for 3-6 months. Either way, any political point the author may have had is lost because the women was not in need of life saving treatment and it only takes a surface scratch to find that out.
If the author takes so little care to make sure he has simply facts like the woman isn’t going to die without this medical treatment or round the clock care, do you really think he has the reading comprehension to truly understand the complexities of a health care bill?
You people are the worst of the worst. You put your politics ahead of people’s lives. Just like those you condemn in the name of Christ. Shame on you all.
