Update2: No Cancer?? Suicide! Staged As Homicide – Live Stream Of Sparkman News Conference

By
November 24, 2009

Update: Michelle Malkin recounts the smears that came our way from the "reality-based" lunatics on the Left, including randy Andy Sullivan!

His federal employment had nothing to do with his death. He had told a witness he had found a spot to kill himself. He wasn't found in the cemetery, he was in a clearing nearby.

No evidence of active cancer? He qualified for extra insurance as a Census worker, which won't happen now. This is looking like a total scam!

Census worker Bill Sparkman's death officially ruled a suicide staged to look like a homicide.

Channel 41 in Kentucky claims to be streaming a feed. Looks like suicide for now.

Story went up at this site, and already these comnments have been put up by morons (must have heard about this case for the first time:
“I bet he knocked on the door of the neighborhood trap house and they suspected he was a narc”
“Poor guy must have knocked on the door of a meth lab or pot farm”
    “I’ve spent time in those mountains…Deliverance isn’t a drama, it’s real…”
“Does not sound suicidal to me. How do you bind your own hands to commit suicide?”
Be interesting to see how many liberal opinion columnists & bloggers will see this for the first time & give it a new twist – gotta be connected to Sarah Palin’s book tour!

  2. Dante says:

How ironic that you decry these smears when you yourself baselessly smeared the man as a pedophile.
    http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2009/09/was-census-worker-bill-sparkman-a-child-predator.html

  3. Dan Riehl says:

Oh gee, too flippin bad. All he was was an insurance fraud. My bad.
Stuff it, creep! Then buy a rope and hang yourself! ; )

  4. Dante, I suspect we’re going to learn a lot more background about Bill Sparkman, now that police have concluded his death was the result of attempted insurance fraud. There is no way to judge whether or not Dan Riehl’s speculation will be justified, but it has not been disproven, as opposed to the “Send the Body to Glenn Beck” meme, which was total bunk.

  5. Rollory says:

I thought you were way out of line when you originally speculated about suicide. I still think it was an inappropriate thing to say. However, there is one thing I respect above all else, and that is being correct.
    Good job.

  6. PA says:

Your protests are just wee bit too emphatic Dante. IYNWIMAITYD

  7. x11b1p says:

I don’t remember Dan saying that this dude was a pedo, only that circumstnaces surrounding his lifestyle reflect those of pedo’s and given the death scene that this was not a random act, can you Dante produce a direct quote from Dan where he called the guy a pedo, or instead are you saying that b/c Dan offered it up as a reason as to why he might have been murdered, a theory the police and people in the area might have looked at as an answer is the same as saying he was a pedo? I think there is a difference. Oh wait, I forgot, it was Beck’s fault through subliminal messaging that he convinced some conservatives to do it b/f heading out to a tea party, wasn’t that the jingle that so many liked? If you can produce a direct quote where Dan stated the guy is a pedo, then I will admit Dan jumped the gun and deserves some flak for saying that he was something for sure that he was not. However, RSM has a good point also.

  8. Dante says:

    Very mature, Dan. Very mature.
Robert, nor has it been disproven that Dan Riehl likes to have sexual congress with golden retrievers and barnyard animals. I guess that means it’s true since it hasn’t been disproven, right? All that matters is that we speculate on something without having any facts or evidence. I can’t believe Riehl would do that to a poor dog. And think of those poor cows and pigs!
x11hlp, no, Dan did not come straight out and say it. He hinted around it using innuendo, planting seeds and then throwing his hands with, “I’m just saying” when challenged. He knew what he was doing. The result is the same: baselessly smearing a person. It was despicable and irresponsible. I think Raleigh-Durham is looking for a new DA. He’d fit right in.

  9. Dan Riehl says:

I would never do that, Dante. But, now that you mention it – your objections do seem a bit defensive in nature. I find myself wondering if you might not actually be a pedophile and you’re experiencing anger over seeing the concept raised.
Yes, definitely a worthwhile question imo. Not that I’m actually saying it, or anything. But I think we might want to keep an eye on this Dante folks. Something just not adding up. Maybe I better check his IP, see if it turns up on any child predator warning lists. Hmm.

  10. x11b1p says:

Dante -are you talking about Nifong from Durham who was the DA for Durham County in wich Durham is, the same DA who stood next to Al Sharpton when charging the Duke LaCross players with rape only to find out that its was bogus and Nifong covered it up to prosecute white boys to get the black vote. The Wake County DA who works in Raleigh is honest and effective and in fact has put several high ranking officials of his own party in jail for corruption? There is not a Raleigh/Durham DA. Can you clarify?

  11. MJ says:

First you suggest that Sparkman was a pedophile and now you’re practically giddy over the fact he killed himself?
All because it helps to further your political agenda? You need to sit back and reflect on your life buddy.

  12. x11b1p says:

What is Dan’s political agenda and how does Sparkman killing himself further it? I gotta hear this one?

  13. “This is looking like a total scam!” probably isn’t the best way to talk about this since he killed himself.
Here’s a list of over a dozen sources that attempted to politicize this issue:
    http://24ahead.com/census-worker-found-hanged-kentucky-see-whos-politicizing-it
If you want to help discredit those sources, send their readers to that page.

  14. jpc says:

The thing is, when Dan offered up an alternative scenario, he used the “whack the donkey in the head with a 2×4 to get it’s attention” strategy. If he hadn’t done that, it would have been several more months of liberal MSM/opinion columnists/bloggers asses profiting from someone’s untimely death to make their political points. Again, to get an ass’s attention, you need a 2×4 – that is the only thing that works with donkeys. Reasoning & pleading doesn’t work with asses.
Also, I appreciate the efforts that Robert Stacy McCain put forth to actually do some “on-the-ground” reporting. I think he could write a book – something like “The Day the Liberal Mainstream Media Jumped the Shark”.

  15. templar knight says:

Excellent questions, x11, but I doubt you will get an answer.

  16. Captain Joe says:

Check out the guy’s myspace and a couple of his friends, Matt and Lowell.

  17. x11b1p says:

templar, i hope you are wrong because I would like to have a discussion about Dan’s political agenda and how this helped push it, and then compare it to the lame stream media’s political agenda and how they used this to push it. if memory serves me correctly the ap ran an incorrect story on this the day b/f 9/12 march on dc where they brought up the anti-govt sentiments as the reason. if thats not pushing a political agenda then i don’t know what is?

  18. SarahW says:

Dan, you know I brought up suicide committed in a very similar manner for similar motive, by a former secretary of my father’s. I didn’t know enough to say much about the Sparkman case except to warn folks not to take it off the table, as there was a rational motive to stage such a suicide – provision for one’s loved ones. Sparkman’s heirs would be eligible to benefits if he were killed in the line of duty, that they would not if he died of natural causes or by his own hands.
    l
I think still, there might be more to the story. His act was a desperate one, though carefully planned. What is behind his pathology isn’t imminent death from cancer, so it must be something else. I have to admit in my heart of hearts, the “professional boyscout master” deal , still raises a flag for me, given the bio details that are known, and the number of scoutmaster scandals that were of that era. I say his despair could well be linked to living lies, and not just about his cancer. Although, I would like clarified what was said about his cancer. Did they say he never, ever had cancer, or just that there was no sign of it having returned or being a health issue at the time of his death?

  19. Joe says:

Being Charles Johnson means never having to say you are sorry.

Charles Johnson is the Dwight Shute of the blogosphere.

  20. Lala says:

Why did Sparkman make himself naked?

  21. SarahW says:

I can answer my own question now – He did uncontrovertibly have a diagnosis of and treatment for lymphoma; He told a “credible witness” that he believed his lymphoma had returned, though his autopsy did not find anything to confirm his stated belief. That leaves plenty of room for him to have been telling the witness truthfully of his belief. If he had symptoms of any sort , was fatigued, having fever or oains or night sweats etc. he might well have formed a belief that his lymphoma was recurring, even if he was mistaken. I would assume in the fuller context that he formed a plan to commit suicide in the mistaken belief that he had lymphoma. The reason to act sooner rather than later would be to prevent him from becoming too weak or indisposed or dead to carry out his plan to provide for his son.
Lala, I think he made himself naked to make himself look more “victimy”; the victim of a humiliating show-crime.

  22. SarahW says:

Also nakedness, Lala, makes it easier for him to draw foot-tall letters on his chest.

  23. Dan Riehl says:

Did they say he never, ever had cancer
There was confusion around that point during the presser. It almost sounded as if they said “never had” but they may have hedged on that. i know there were follow up questions on it and it became somewhat muddled.

  24. Dan Riehl says:

In addition, Rolf said the autopsy found no signs of a recurrence of Sparkman’s cancer, so his cancer fears were unfounded.

  25. gus says:

Right on cue. LIBTARDS are proven wrong, way wrong, BIG TIME WRONG, smear merchants and creeps. And at the very moment this PATHETIC LIBTARD LIE and HATCHET JOB is exposed, along comes LIBTARD DANTE with an attempt to change the subject. LIBTARDS are sub-human.

  26. gus says:

You know what is very immature DAINTY? Being completely and utterl wrong and lacking the balls to admit it when called on it. You’re a worthless dickless LIBTARD.

  27. Dante says:

Dang, gus. You sure are a free thinker.

  28. SarahW says:

They clarified, Dan – He had cancer, he told at least one “credible witness” (law enforcement characterization) of his *belief* that the cancer had returned.
No mention of him telling anyone he had been *told* or had *confirmed* that his lymphoma was resurgent.
If he experienced what he attributed to signs and symptoms of it returning, though, formed a belief of it returning, that could easily have been sufficient for him to act out his plan.

  29. gus says:

Yes Dainty, I am. You aren’t. When your LIBTARD side is exposed as COMPLETE FRAUDS, you are way way too stupid and pussified to defend it. You’re a weak tit son.

  30. Bo Darville says:

Let’s not forget this was a real person who committed suicide, which is always kind of sad.

  31. Calypso Jones says:

yes, kinda sad. But you have to wonder about a person who would go to that length to make his suicide look like a murder. We know he’s crooked, working the insurance angle. We know he’s deceitful….staging his death to make it look like he was the victim of some militia type/anti government type which in this day and age means conservative.

  32. SarahW says:

People will do a lot to provide for loved family, especially when they feel guilty for failing.

  33. Jord2009 says:

I heard Dan Riehl is a paedophile. I can’t prove it but all the signs point to it
