Obama: Pajamas Are So Gay
I pointed this out in a weekend post two slots down, Obama is caught between his base and a, um, hard place. Ewwww!
The WH tells the reality-based community to get real. But, hey, just because it was the Right that saw this guy coming from a mile away, the Left is still home to the smart ones, yes? Yeah, we're just the rubes over here. One almost wants to take their side here given that they are bloggers.
Still, we've been telling them they represent the fringe Left for years. But the media was as intent on building them up, just as they did Obama. But Obama can't escape the fact that while they might contribute some cash, they don't represent a large enough voting block to drive policy.
Soon after he was elected I noted that the Oval Office is a meat grinder that exposes what a person is made of – it's unavoidable. The more we learn about Obama, the less we like. And that goes for far more than the gay blogging community. Obama is a player and teh gays got played – not exactly unexpected, that. As I've also said, if this guy isn't careful, he's going to go down as one of the most disliked pols in history. And the arrogant sob's around him aren't exactly helping him out when they open their mouths.

For a sign of how seriously the White House does or doesn't take this opposition, one adviser told me those bloggers need to take off the pajamas, get dressed, and realize that governing a closely divided country is complicated and difficult.
“The more we learn about Obama, the less we like.” More silly talk from Dan. Change is always more difficult in reality than it is in rhetoric no doubt but to say that Obama might go down as one of the most disliked pols in history is a bit weird to say the least. He is VERY well liked. We’ve actually seen an uptick in his poll numbers since the end of summer and he is doing quite well in this very very partisan country that we have. (All three major polls conducted in October give Obama a 56% approval rating)

Those that are one issue activists are always going to be disappointed that the guy they supported doesn’t make wholesale changes on day one. If Obama had done that he might have made them happy but he would certainly have pissed off a whole other constituency that might be fearful of such change. Obama knows exactly what he is doing and knows that when it comes to gay rights especially, he has to set the table and get public opinion moving in his direction before he makes statutory changes. And it is working. All polling data shows that Americans are increasingly supportive of gays serving in the military or gays being able to get married.
So Danny boy, don’t worry your little teabagging head, Obama is doing just fine and you are not going to see a whole bunch of gays defecting to the Republican party…. I rate the chance of that happening to be as high as the odds that Lindsey Graham will make an announcement coming out of the closet.
Sure, I figured that the gay community will get from Obama pretty much what Reagan gave the “Pro-Life” community … lots of words with the best of intentions, but this White House seems to have lost their minds.
Now, every gab at the White House is personal.
Go ahead Barack et al … insult your critics into submission. Even Bush wasn’t that stupid. I apparently missed this technique for making friends and influencing people.

Not being a blogger myself, I’m not that fired up about this particular brouhaha, but the open contempt from the Obami, and the blind eye turned on it by an enabling sycophantic media is, astounding.
Of larger significance to me is the end of the quote, “governing a closely divided country is complicated and difficult”. Seems if one listens enough, this is a common excuse, the “One” himself often refers to how “hard” it is to deal with what’s on his plate. I’m guessing the over/under on this theme in the first 9+ months of speeches and statements is 50 or so. Losers. Proof positive one can fool just enough people just enough of the time.
I’m thinking the mainstream media, and redundantly the liberal media, are racist. They champion the radical left but only those causes by the white majority. For example, the majority of blacks, as demonstrated again through California Prop 8, are content to let what happens in your bedroom be your business but wont be jumping on the gay rights bandwagon with gay curriculum in every elementary school and sensitivity training in every human resources handbook. Liberal social justice is a house in every pot for lefty hispanic housekeepers but what of reparations? The Rev. Jackson and Sharpton agenda is radical left but not championed. Why is that?
Of course, I realize these thoughts make me racist.
