I honestly can't believe I am reading this about Iran. And Afghanistan hangs in the balance. Obama never held a single meeting of his pertinent subcommittee on that during the campaign. Now he schedules an emergency meeting to shill for the Olympics to benefits his pals from Blagoland? Is this a test? Does he want to see how fast and how far he can make his approval numbers drop? At this rate, he'll be lucky to see 40% of the vote in 2012. The man is actually proving to be a disgrace. I thought, if nothing else, he was too smart for that. I guess I was wrong. He isn't just out of step with America, he isn't even walking on the same track.

I’m thinking Obama is going to be the first president in modern history who does not visibly age in office…because he doesn’t actually do any work or any governing.
In between vacations and official “visits” to foreign countries all he does is squeeze in a few Jay Leno appearances and some speeches to his cult of followers.
I’m wondering if Obama has actually ever done a real days work in any job he’s ever held…having worked in politics I can tell you that members of the legislature at any level rarely put in what one would call a real work week.
The only thing Saint Obama has ever run is his mouth. And his one and only skill is that he reads well – from his ever present teleprompters.

It doesn’t change the FACT that Obama has already taken several vacations, several suspect “official” trips like the one he’s planning so he can lobby for Chicago, as well as having made a huge number of televised speeches. In fact, it looks to me like speeches and trips is all Obama does.

The Olympics are an opportunity to bring people together and bring economic fortitude to a country for a certain amount of time. And really, it makes us feel a little better when we’re all fighting on a level field for shiny medallions.
After 9/11, Americans coalescing around the Salt Lake City Olympics served to show the world that, not only were we stronger than anyone could imagine, we were not going to turn our lives around because terrorists told us to be afraid. This sheer lunacy on yours and Malkin’s part seems to say, “This shit is scary – let’s all act like it!”
The United States deserves the Olympics, and people have been working for a long time to bring it to America once more. And you’re going to bash that simply because the President is going to Copenhagen for a day, or because you don’t like its politicians? The President has used a quarter of the number of days, in his first 8 months, of vacation that his predecessor took – let the guy travel, for pete’s sake. Does he need to cut down brush along the way for it to pacify you and Malkin?
How about this: Calm down while the President brings this home for us, and when the days of the Olympiad finally arrive, you can cheer for the teams from Japan, Brazil, and Spain. Meanwhile, the President and I will be cheering for America.
Also – you disagree with the Republican Party terribly in this piece. They understand, as evidenced in their email excerpt you were so kind to include, as most serious political thinkers do, that Obama will win reelection by a wide margin in 2012, making 2016 his last full year in office:
