Sweet in either case.
Legal, the sad fact is the RNC and GW are totally worthless to conservatives.I would like to see GW step down and allow Cheney to take over.As I said before I favor starving the RNC until they start tossing these RINOS out.
But isn’t Cheney the text-book RINO? Or am I misunderstanding what a RINO is? Cheney is even more unpopular than W. Wouldn’t he do further damage to your Party (in the eyes of the public, maybe no the base) if he was the Pres.?
The Sydney Morning Herald went to CPAC and discovered that the rats are deserting the sinking ship:
“[W]hat was most striking about this conservative jamboree was that President George Bush was hardly mentioned. The Vice-President, Dick Cheney, gave the speech at the official dinner on Friday night and, at the conference at least, Cheney remains a hero.”
“Not so, it seems, the President. Not only was there hardly any mention of his name, but there were no photographs of Bush on display – and everyone from Cheney to the disgraced former House majority leader Tom Delay received their photographic due.”

Electing Obama, Edwards, Hillary or any of those other liberal, socialist, bat-shit crazy candidates would be like national suicide.
The freedom loving country we try to sustain now would implode upon itself and the new socialist nation of America would be born from it. You think Walter Reed looked bad? wait till the government seizes control of your healthcare….it will all look like that.
And the free-market? kiss that good bye too. Those ignorant political idiots (Clinton, Obama, Edwards etc etc) will do nothing more than hand this country over to the enemy and seal our fall as a nation.
And as for the republicans….their side isnt offering anything that would strengthen the country either. Sure, the worst republican is always better than the best democrat, but we need someone who can break this welfare state that the dems have been making and get this country back on the road to being the best damned nation in the world again. (Well, we already still are, but id like for it’s own citizens to effin act like it once and a while)
With Flip-Flop Mitt, McRINO, and Julie Anna running as the top nominees for the right, I think the entire Republican party is gunning for a Democratic victory. I don’t know how they could try harder not to win.
Unfortunately, I think Ziffykins may be more correct than he hopes. Unless Newt steps into the ring with Duncan Hunter or Tancredo as a VP, it is quite possible that the GOP will implode much like the Dems did for much of the later half of the 20th century.
Worst case scenario: we loose for the next 4-8 years, and hopefully, the Donkey Kongress and HillaryBama do such a horrendous job of shipwrecking the nation that (a) the USA gets broken up into bits that are owned by Mexico, Red China, Canada, UK and France (so they can export their surplus muslims) or (b) we somehow muddle through and triumph in 2016 with a solid GOP majority and ban the DNC along with the old CPUSA (the homegrown commies) for having brought us to the brink of utter ruin.
Or Jesus Christ returns, to slay the wicked and subject all of Earth’s governments to Himself… which might not be a bad thing at all.
Seek,at the grassroots Republicans want to fight. Our leadership however is quite liberal. The RNC is ready and willing to turn the country over to Hillary/Obama as fast as they can. They just want us to keep sending in the dough.Tell those traitors NO!!
“Or Jesus Christ returns, to slay the wicked”
Because killing other people was what Jesus was all about, right?
Sometimes I wonder if the guy would even recognize his own followers today.
Remember John Kerry trying to speak Mexican at a rally somewhere in the south. It was hilarious, and really reminded me of this… Then Kerry tried to speak French for his “Haitian friends” and I lost it, as someone who speaks French fluently, it was grade A humour.
Anybody remember that video from Bush’s first run for, what was it, Texas representative? The one where he had no accent whatsoever? The one where he was something like 38 years old?
Interesting how ya picked up only on the “slay the wicked” part, and not the “subject of government to Himself” part.
“Because killing other people was what Jesus was all about, right?”
If you meant that in terms of His followers going about slaying people: Erm, no. We do not take part of any slaying of the wicked, at least in the genocidal sense you might be thinking of.
What people forget so easily is that Jesus is the same God in the New Testament as he is in the Old; His character is still Righteous and True. He reserves judgment to Himself, and with few exceptions (waging of defensive war, execution of the Death Penalty imposed by the government, the policeman in the line of duty to name a few), the Christian is not compelled to commit acts of vigilante justice or genocide.
But as Jesus is the One Righteous Judge whom we all shall meet and give an account of our lives to, and as one who will return to quell the riotous and rebellious throngs of deceived humans aligned against Him, I’d say that it would be well within _His_ right to slay the wicked if He so chooses. And I think, that He probably will:
— (caution: disagreeable bits of Word of God ahead) ————————————————————————
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
(Revelation 19:11-21)
Yup. Sounds to me like it would be good to be on the right side of this King of Kings when He returns.
“Your English sucks.”
I know, Spanish, not Mexican.
“Jesus is the same God in the New Testament as he is in the Old”
Actually, Jesus wasn’t born when the Old Testament was complete. And (this is a very complicated thing to explain) Jesus isn’t God, but God was Jesus. The Trinity is something that very few people can explain well, and I am not one of them.
Do you mind if I ask which denomination you are? It seems that we would certainly differ in our views of the fundamental question of who/what Jesus, God, and Holy Spirit are.
“disagreeable bits of Word of God ahead”
What do you mean by disagreeable, do you mean refuteable, or as in the French usage, unpleasent?
“It seems that we would certainly differ in our views of the fundamental question of who/what Jesus, God, and Holy Spirit are.”
The Trinity is a three-leaf clover in which each are seperate and apart and yet all are the same being, as explained through the divine words of the Saint Patrick who slayeth the Dragons. Irish Catholic for the winz!
Interesting how they tease Bush for trying to relate to the “common man” with his style of speaking yet they feel free to do it themselves. A bit hypocritical.
Jeff: I meant that in the “unpleasant” sense – as most unsaved folk don’t like hearing the Word of God.
If I had to say what “denomination” I follow, I’m probably closest to Baptist, as far as people like to categorize particular differences in Christian thought.
Concerning the Trinity: It is no easy thing for our human mind to grasp accurately; although “the Holy Clover” Ziffy mentioned is a bit of an irreverent way of explaining it, yet it is workable for a basic model.
After all, God does seem to take pleasure in revealing Himself in His creations; therefore, why not find an expression of His triune nature in a simple clover leave?
I understand Jesus to be one in being with Father prior to His incarnation in human flesh; He existed (and continues to exist in communion with the Father) as part of the Triune Person of God. Being the “Alpha and Omega”, Jesus has neither beginning nor end of days.
As for being conceived of the Holy Spirit, this speaks of His human incarnation; God does everything with perfect agreement, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; it is One will.
I understand this to mean Following His birth and existence as the Son of God, He was still God, but in human form.
This is part of the mystery of God’s righteousness: that which allowed Him to become separated from the Father while the Son “became sin”, i.e. becoming the sacrifice as the penalty for the sins of all humanity, past, present and future. Following His triumph over the grave and subsequent acension into Heaven, He sits at the right hand of the Father, awaiting the moment only the Father knows to return, and conclude this present wicked age.
In John 1:1-4 we find:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
Here, Jesus is identified as “the Word” – John 1:14
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”.
Jesus’ unity with God the Father: “I and my Father are one.” (John 10:30)
And of course, the summation we find Christ’s purpose:
“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20)
Concerning Jesus’ pre-incarnate existence, little is said concerning Him directly aside from the prophetic allusions in Isaiah, and in the Psalms, one of my favorites being Psalm 2:
“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, ‘Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.’
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
‘Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.’
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”
…
Mind you, this was written by one of Jesus’s ancestors, I want to say it was King David. If so, it was written by the Holy Spirit some 1000-odd years before Christ.
A still older reference may possibly be read into “the Captain of the Host” who appeared before Joshua during one of the inital seiges of conquest of Canaan, and the appearance of the “Angel of the Lord” with two companion angels in the Oaks of Mamre to Abraham. These are speculative though, other than for the fact that these two persons accept Abraham’s and Joshua’s acts of worship, whereas angelic beings ordinarily refuse worship (such as John in Revelation 19) and direct it back to God.
Even demons (fallen angels) regarded Jesus as the Son of God, and recognized His authority (Gadarene Demoniac, Luke 8:26-33) – entreating Him with fear. I think that these fallen beings, not otherwise knowing the man Jesus, but rather recognizing the Person of God whom He is when they saw Him, it is likely that they would have remembered Him in his pre-incarnate state in Heaven.
I hope this helps answer you question about my view of the Trinity, Jeff.
Folks, that is Bush’s speaking style. He doesn’t have to fake it. How could anyone fake such poor speaking skills?
Now Hillary was caught blatantly being fake. She was trying to show the “rednecks” she’s just like them. For someone who has practiced so hard to fake sincerity she sure did a lousy job.
I wonder why Hillary is bothering playing to the rednecks. She doesn’t need them (who does, for that matter). All she needs is to match Kerry and take Ohio, end of the redneck problem.

Legalize,
Your blogatude is so rude. How about upping the level of discourse a bit and cutting the name-calling. Too bad this blog isn’t a courtroom. You’d be in contempt.
BobinStamford: Hillary was not playing to the rednecks. She was playing to blacks. Those are the votes she wants. She was playing to a black audience. No self respecting redneck will ever vote for Hillary except her husband.
Spartan,
What a trite remark. I suppose it all depends on how you describe ‘redneck’, but it seems the libs here figure rednecks as anyone who doesn’t think as they do. Others figure them for southerners with two teeth. It doesn’t matter, though, because ‘self-respecting’ is a human trait, not a class trait. That means most of the lib commenters on this blog are rednecks. Your relentless, effete, pejoratives of anyone who thinks differently than you guys is proof of that. If you had any self-respect, you’d cut the put-down crap. It all boils down to class, and you know it.
Dan,I pray this vile woman will not be President…..but the Republicans seem determined to put her in…..that voice is worse than cats in a dryer!

Your blogatude is so rude. How about upping the level of discourse a bit and cutting the name-calling. Too bad this blog isn’t a courtroom. You’d be in contempt.
Talking Points Memo is all over this nonsense:

BobinStamford: Hillary was not playing to the rednecks. She was playing to blacks. Those are the votes she wants. She was playing to a black audience. No self respecting redneck will ever vote for Hillary except her husband.
Oregonian: Even taken in context it is terrible. A really really bad southern accent. White people from Chicago should not attempt a southern accent.
Nove, if they were “self-respecting” they wouldn’t be rednecks now would they.
Spartan,
What a trite remark.
Heaven knows a conservative would never resort to a put down…”faggot”…
Spartan,
That’s even more trite than your first comment.
