CAIR and Ibrahim Hooper: The Domination Agenda

Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) spokesperson Ibrahim Hooper has been in the news again due to his strong opposition to an amateur music video, Hadji Girl, reported to have been made by an American Marine.

Ibrahim, who was a former ABC affiliate news producer named Doug Hooper, prior to converting to Islam, also made news when he was quoted by the Minneapolis Star Tribune as wanting to see the United States governed by sharia law. It should be noted that sharia law, when embraced, is intended to govern both the public and private lives of citizens.

"I wouldn’t want to create the impression that I wouldn’t like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future. But I’m not going to do anything violent to promote that. I’m going to do it through education."

The desire to bring about this De facto Islamic revolution in America through education, or perhaps re-education, is particularly important when one looks at certain developments in some American school systems. To quote from some texts:

"Many (Christians and Jews) lead such decadent and immoral lives that lying, alcohol, nudity, pornography, racism, foul language, premarital sex, homosexuality and everything else are accepted in their society, churches and synagogues." "The reasons for Jewish hostility toward the Muslims of 7th century Medina lies in their general characteristics described in the Koran." Example: "You will find the most implacable of men in their enmity to the faithful are the Jews and the pagans." "The Messenger of Allah," IQRA, pg. 34; target readers: Grades 6-9

"Jews subscribe to a belief in racial superiority. … Their religion even teaches them to call down curses upon the worship places of non-Jews whenever they pass by them! – "What Islam Is All About," IBTS, pg. 188; target readers: Grades 3-6.

Given the stated intention of what some would like to characterize as CAIR’s brand of moderate Islam, it’s also important to point out this isn’t an isolated way of thinking among Muslims in America, as well as Internationally.

From the Islamic Center of America website:

The small jihad is over and now remains the greater jihad; we have finished off with the smaller challenge so thankfully we can move onto our larger challenge which is to establish the roots of moderate and open minded Islam in a pluralistic society such as the United States.

The problem is, sharia law is counter-intuitive to a pluralistic society where the religious beliefs of many are practiced and respected. And a number of individuals and imams increasingly linked with moderation within Islamic thought are often found to have connections, however hard to pin down, to a far more radicalized way of Islamic thinking. For example:

On January 16th, 2004, Mr. Randall (Ishmail) Royer pleaded guilty  to charges of using and discharging a firearm during, and in relation to, a crime of violence; and with carrying an explosive during commission of a felony. … At the time Mr. Royer committed crimes, he was in a leadership position at the Council on American Islamic Relations, (CAIR), a Washington DC based organization that claims to protect the civil rights of Muslims in the United States and Canada.  (It should be noted that years earlier, as a student, Royer worked a short period with CAIR before he joined Bosnian Forces fighting Serbs in 1994.)

The following statement is attributed to Omar M. Ahmad, a co-founder of CAIR.

"If you choose to live here (in America) … you have a responsibility to deliver the message of Islam," he said…. Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant, he said. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth, he said.

However amorphous might be any links between CAIR and terrorism, based upon their known statements, what is absolutely clear is their ultimate dedication to the spread of an ideology through out America, one that can’t be seen as anything other than tyrannical, especially given America’s secular tradition.

Of all government entities, the Pentagon certainly should be aware of this organization’s agenda. The notion that they would take seriously complaints from a group like CAIR, especially when weighed against the first amendment rights of an American citizen who has worn the uniform for our country, is completely unacceptable. The complaints against the music video Hadji Girl should be dismissed without further thought.

If anything, it is organizations precisely like CAIR which deserve to be prudently monitored, not the legal entertainment activities of American citizens, in uniform, or not.
